Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 69: Ancient Blood (Double-Length) (Part 2)

"She has been here." The unicorn isn't easy to navigate within the city.

Following its lead, Su Ziyu gradually arrived near a residence, then suddenly turned as if sensing something.

A longsword stabbed straight towards his abdomen.

Clang!

Su Ziyu instantly drew his sword, sweeping away the attack. He saw a fleeting shadow in the alley. The opponent was quite cautious, retreating immediately after missing the strike.

"Shire?!" Su Ziyu suddenly called out, "The unicorn asked me to find you."

Upon hearing his words, the silhouette of the young lady stopped.

She possessed long silver hair and a prominent scar on her cheek. Her light-black shadow looked somewhat disheveled, and her attire resembled the equipment used by a Demon Hunter.

"Unicorn?" The girl in front seemed distrustful of Su Ziyu.

"Follow me." Su Ziyu said, "The unicorn is just outside."

Soon.

The girl met the unicorn, her demeanor relaxing significantly as if embracing an old friend, she then turned to Su Ziyu and said, "Thank you for saving it."

"Those ancient elves are still searching for me! They've already arrived in this world!"

"Let's leave here first, then we'll talk."

.........

The young lady named Shire was the inheritor of Ancient Blood.

As she observed Su Ziyu, he also sized her up. Despite appearing very young, she was quite seasoned and mature, with signs of many battles experienced etched as scars on her exposed skin.

Su Ziyu could ascertain she had undergone Demon Hunter training.

The group did not linger in Jerusalem but left the city overnight.

Because Shire said she seemed to have encountered the pursuing ancient elves who had discovered this world and were searching for her.

Beside the campfire.

The unicorn rested nearby.

Su Ziyu curiously eyed the girl before him and asked, "You said you've been wandering across different worlds lately?"

"Yes," Shire said softly, her hostility diminished, revealing a youthful liveliness. "I visited a deserted island, encountered some knights. I also traveled to a place called France, plagued by a terrifying disease."

"I visited a country of halflings, they were enthusiastic and friendly, but soon enough, the ancient elves found me."

Su Ziyu sat by the campfire, quietly listening to her stories.

In a way, her experiences mirrored his own, except she naturally possessed the ability to traverse time, while he was compelled to due to the Hourglass of Time.

"In a sense, we're quite alike."

Su Ziyu chuckled, conjuring an Energy Bar out of thin air to hand it over, saying, "I've also been to many different worlds."

"In the first world, I saw many dinosaurs."

"You might not have seen such creatures; they mostly resembled colossal Earth Dragons, some akin to Pterosaurs."

Su Ziyu reminisced about meeting Lina, including being abandoned at a cliff.

"That must've been painful," Shire listened attentively, always gazing into his eyes.

"Just a bit disappointing," Su Ziyu smiled, continuing, "Later, I went to a Wasteland World, a post-nuclear explosion realm plagued by radiation-mutated beings and some mutated undead."

"A future apocalypse wasteland."

"A truly despairing place."

Upon hearing this, the girl couldn't help but say, "I also visited a future world with many flying machines. But without identification, and disliking the place, I left in a few days after recovering my abilities."

"Do you possess Ancient Blood as well?" Shire asked softly.

Su Ziyu shook his head, slowly responding, "In fact, I'm just an ordinary human."

"I possess these abilities due to certain reasons."

"Watch out!"

"Someone's coming."

During their conversation, Su Ziyu suddenly stood, frowning while gazing into the distant darkness, speaking sternly, "Have you completed all your Demon Hunter combat training?"

"Don't underestimate me!" The girl's brow slightly furrowed, she replied.

In the darkness.

The sound of horse hooves gradually rose.

Flickers of firelight appeared ahead, revealing a group of knights clad in ominous armor emerging intermittently.

"It's them!" Shire's expression tightened and she urged loudly, "Let's go, now! The Wild Hunt has found us!"

One, two, three...

In front of Su Ziyu appeared a dozen Ghost Hunters wearing tattered armor. Unlike those in the Demon Hunter World, these couldn't fly in Heaven nor ride skeletal horses, appearing solid as they galloped on warhorses from afar.

"Is this it?" Su Ziyu asked, showing a hint of skepticism.

Su Ziyu had encountered a full army in the Ring of Nature.

The unicorn rose and communicated through Mind Sensing, "They can no longer open the Gate of All Realms. If they use temporary Teleportation, they can only send this many."

"Stay here," Su Ziyu told the girl behind him.

A moment later.

He signaled to the unicorn to protect her.

Then, Su Ziyu donned the Invisibility Cloak, vanishing from the girl's sight.

"He..." Shire's face registered a mix of nervousness and astonishment.

The Ghost Knights gradually closed in.

Suddenly.

A gleam of cold light appeared.

Amid the burst of Spiritual Energy, a Flying Knife swiftly sliced through the necks of over ten warhorses. Amidst the showering blood and whinnies of the horses, the Ghost Hunters were forced to jump off their mounts one after another.

A flash of cold sword light passed.

"Something's wrong!"

After only beginning to engage them, Su Ziyu became aware of a discrepancy, as blood smeared on his Meteor. Previously, upon killing Ghost Hunters, they'd simply dissipate into thin air.

"Could they have physically manifested this time?" Su Ziyu pondered.

Indeed.

These enemies were not undead; they had flesh and blood.

The Ghost Hunters exhibited remarkable combat prowess; even with Su Ziyu wearing the Invisibility Cloak, they pinpointed his location and executed swift attacks.

——"Flashing!"

Su Ziyu's figure suddenly appeared behind one Ghost Hunter. Amid the gushing blood, he swiftly swung his sword, severing the opponent's head.

A headless body collapsed loudly.

Blood flowed profusely.

This time, the bodies didn't vanish.

"Damn!"

"Where is he? There's an enemy!"

"Be careful!"

"He's over there!"

Panic and cries erupted.

In the darkness, someone seemed to be chanting a spell. Without hesitation, Su Ziyu dual-wielded weapons.

The next moment.

——"Time Acceleration!"

Everything seemed to freeze, becoming frames of a slow-motion movie. Su Ziyu's silhouette dashed forward, cold light streaked through the darkness, ghost-like amid the Ghost Hunters.

Upon reappearing.

Su Ziyu stood behind them, slowly sheathing the Meteor without glancing back, heading directly toward the girl in the distance.

Thud, thud, thud.

A series of falling sounds, blood accompanied by falling heads, within a moment all Ghost Hunters perished.

With only ten or so enemies, he swiftly defeated them.

The sole threat to Su Ziyu was the Wild Hunt army; a mere squad posed no danger.

"Let's go." Facing the wide-eyed girl in front of him, Su Ziyu calmly said, "Let's find another place to rest."

"They might send more pursuers."
