Members of the Brotherhood are scattered everywhere, with their informants in many places.
The Brotherhood's people live in the Red Light District. If not seen with one's own eyes, no one would believe that the shabby man in front of them was an assassin of the Brotherhood. This person hid himself well; when Su Ziyu saw him, the man even appeared like an old patron, laughing and chatting with scantily clad prostitutes. However, it seemed this person recognized him, for upon seeing him, he quickly dismissed the prostitute beside him and said in a low voice, "It's inconvenient to talk here. Follow me."
The three quickly entered a narrow alley.
Beside them was a secret passage leading to the sewers. Once inside, it opened up into a whole new world, leading directly to an underground building. As soon as Old Bill arrived here, he was left behind by another person, while Su Ziyu followed him alone into the room.
"Su Ziyu, legendary warrior."
"Twelve years ago, you brought back information on the bionic transformation plan from Southern Cross, and killed a super mutant at Polaris." The shabby man in front of him collected his aura, appearing much more competent, and said in a deep voice, "I have been waiting for you for several days."
Su Ziyu curiously glanced around, then turned and asked, "Do you know me?"
"Your information has already been sent to all Brotherhood branches." The shabby man in front extended his hand and said, "Justin. From the Southern Cross branch."
Southern Cross?
The Brotherhood built a branch there too?
Su Ziyu scrutinized the man before him, and in a low voice said, "I want to reclaim Polaris. I might need some assistance from you."
"Polaris can be reclaimed anytime." Hearing this, Justin smiled slightly, "Our people have been infiltrated here for a long time. But now is not the time to reclaim Polaris."
Hmm?
The Brotherhood's people have already infiltrated here?
Su Ziyu furrowed his brows slightly and softly asked, "Are you fishing?"
"You could say that." Justin nodded, "The Wolf Gang is not a difficult adversary, the truly challenging ones are their supporters behind the scenes; we only uncovered some people from the Academy having connections with them."
"And these people have provided them with powerful weapon support."
"These folks have laser rifles."
Academy?
Laser weapons?
Justin watched Su Ziyu's furrowing brows, rose and handed over a file, "In the past hundred years or so, the Academy has always conducted research in underground shelters, but recently their influence began expanding outward, collaborating with many surface financial tycoons' influence."
"A division happened internally within the Academy, after the civil war broke out, many Academy people left the underground and entered the wasteland."
"Some special weapons and technology data also leaked out."
He pointed to a middle-aged man on the file, "This man is called Solomon. You should have heard his name. Indeed. He is the one who initially led the development of the antiradiation potion."
"He's still alive."
"We found traces of him within the Academy; Brotherhood members are fully pursuing his whereabouts."
Solomon?
Su Ziyu closely examined the photo, taken from a poor angle and seemed to be secretly snapped, looking not old at all, rather handsome; if it truly was Solomon, he should be over two hundred years old now.
"We almost caught him once."
"But then some combat occurred, and all our people were sacrificed." Justin said this with a somewhat somber voice, slowly adding, "They died very strangely. All died of cerebral hemorrhage."
Cerebral hemorrhage?
Su Ziyu's expression slightly changed, as if he recalled something.
Justin was silently observing Su Ziyu's expression changes, casually probing, "The Academy once had a superpower user research plan. Have you heard of it?"
"No." Su Ziyu shook his head.
It was quite evident.
This Solomon possesses some supernatural powers; the energy level of the wasteland world is 1, meaning supernatural powers are uncommon yet absolutely exist, and the way these people died seemed to resemble damage caused by supernatural power shocks to the brain.
At the mention of Solomon, Su Ziyu immediately thought of Pasha.
He furrowed his brows, intensely focused on the Brotherhood member in front, questioning, "Why did Pasha suddenly disappear? What did you discover in your last operation?"
Everything originated because of Pasha's disappearance; if she hadn't disappeared, Polaris wouldn't have changed hands.
A flicker of killing intent emerged.
Justin suddenly felt a slight difficulty breathing; even though he had undergone bionic transformation, there was an inexplicable chill raising his hackles, causing him to silently adjust Su Ziyu's danger level upward one rank, cautiously saying, "The last operation was to investigate certain things. We discovered some very peculiar mutant creatures; there were military bases left by the Old World."
Su Ziyu retained an expressionless demeanor, though his gaze gradually turned colder, "And didn't you organize manpower for a rescue?"
"It's been half a year."
Justin's forehead, out of nowhere, now glistened with cold sweat; he subtly retreated half a step, cautiously saying, "We deployed three rescue teams but all dispatched came back with no return."
"That area's magnetic field anomaly renders all communication devices useless."
"We are uncertain about their survival."
The air seemed to freeze.
