An intense battle lasted for nearly an hour.
As the monsters near the Old Gods' creation were almost entirely cleared out, a bearded elderly man arrived on the island under the escort of a squad of soldiers.
"How is the sample collection going?" the elderly man turned to ask the middle-aged woman beside him.
The middle-aged woman adjusted her frameless glasses on her nose and said softly, "The collection is complete. Analysis data shows that it indeed contains genetic components of the Antiradiation Potion."
"The Genetics Faction may be holding a similar creature."
Although the Antiradiation Potion is manufactured and circulated through the Financial Tycoons' Influence, the Academy's senior members have always known that the Financial Group is merely a mundane processing plant. The true core components come from the Genetics Faction within the Academy. Each year, they provide a set quantity of special materials to the Financial Tycoons' Influence, who then redistribute the Antiradiation Potion.
The Genetics Faction holds too much power.
Even though the Bionics School gained the upper hand during the Academy's internal conflicts, they were still unable to dominate. At most, they could temporarily lead, given that part of the Genetics Faction opposes the reckless use of super soldier modified genes.
If unleashed to create super Mutants and synthetics, the Genetics Faction's strength would be quite terrifying.
"Creations of the Old Gods?"
"When did this monster appear?" The old man picked up an analysis report and mumbled, "Its body contains the genes of more than ten Earth animals and plants, as if God is playing a joke on us."
"It's a terrifying Synthetic Monster."
At this, the middle-aged woman couldn't help but hesitate, asking, "Doctor? Does a god truly exist in this world?"
"Absurd!" the old man scoffed and shook his head, "So-called gods sometimes might just be unknown powerful creatures beyond our understanding."
"To ancient people."
"We can now use tools for flying and communication, reach the Moon, utilize nuclear energy. To them, aren't we the gods?"
"Compared to the Old Gods who created this monster, we are like ancient individuals."
"Although it is an unknown entity we don't comprehend, as long as we research more knowledge, we can figure out what it actually is."
The middle-aged woman showed an expression of understanding but still couldn't help asking, "What about the Mechanical Atomist Pantheon?"
"They have grown immensely strong these years."
Upon hearing this, the old man hesitated for a moment before saying slowly, "Cosmic Spirit, eh?"
"If the Cosmic Spirit truly exists."
"Then it is the God we speak of, but this God wouldn't care about the tiny Earth, much less the insignificant humans on it."
"In Eastern terms, it could be called 'Dao.'
The middle-aged woman appeared half-understanding.
The old man didn't bother explaining further, directly donning protective gear and walking towards the Old Gods' creation, his face becoming increasingly shocked as he approached, murmuring, "Unbelievable! What kind of biotech is capable of creating such a monster?"
"Has the radiation pollution index been collected?"
A nearby researcher in protective gear responded, "Collection completed."
"Ordinary Mutant creatures have a radiation pollution index of 150%-300%!"
"Radiation levels far exceed that of the outside Corpse Ghosts."
"This monster's radiation pollution index is 300%-500%, and its body has directly been hit by nuclear explosions, with pollution index reaching approximately 600%."
Radiation pollution index has no upper limit.
Theoretically, 20% is a caution line; surpassing this number can affect health, resulting in radiation mutation over time. Breaching 50% threatens life, leading to death in a short time if untreated. Levels above 80% mark a mutation zone, where many Corpse Ghosts originate, and levels over 100% could turn into Frenzied Corpse Ghosts and Living Corpse Ghosts.
A 150% radiation pollution index is the threshold for Mutants, allowing certain special entities to directly morph into super Mutants.
The monsters on the island have temporarily mutated.
If time extended, some Super Mutant-like creatures could potentially arise, though now their mutation level is not high, and the Academy's Bionics School arrived timely to halt the source of this Pollution.
"Find a way to transport it back." The old man glanced at the colossal corpse of the Old Gods' creation, hesitated a moment, and said, "Find a way to take part of it back."
"Others should be incinerated on-site."
The tense work continued throughout the day.
After dark, the old man boarded the Hovercraft directly, then changed to a plane to head to the Academy's Bionics School foundation.
"The one who killed the Old Gods' creation."
"Keep an eye on them."
"Find a way to recruit them," the old man instructed as he walked into the meeting room with a stack of documents.
A person beside him nodded, "Understood."
Meeting room.
The entire meeting room was empty, without a single person, yet filled with tables and chairs. The old man entered and said, "Gaia. Start the meeting."
"Alright, Doctor," a female electronic voice sounded.
In an instant.
A series of human-shaped projections appeared on numerous seats in the meeting room, almost all elderly men, with few middle-aged individuals.
The old man moved to the top of the meeting room and nodded to a middle-aged man in a white lab coat beside him, "Doctor A."
"Let's begin the meeting."
