"Cthulhu..."
A vague whispering voice came through.
Su Ziyu suddenly opened his eyes and sat up on the bed.
"What's wrong?" Pasha's gentle voice sounded, with a hint of doubt in her expression. As the blanket slid off, it revealed a patch of fair skin and a bit of rounded contours.
Su Ziyu shook his head and said, "Nothing."
He reached out and wrapped his arm around Pasha's waist, who was leaning on his shoulder. It seemed that he was no longer sleepy; it was three o'clock in the morning, with a little time left before dawn.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Pasha slightly turned her body and gently pressed Su Ziyu's temples with her fingers, asking.
"Hmm." Su Ziyu nodded, turned his head, and kissed Pasha on the cheek. He said, "You sleep."
"I'll go out for a smoke."
After saying that, he got up, put on his clothes, and went directly outside the room.
The weather was a bit cold.
However, Su Ziyu didn't mind the chill, standing on the rooftop, he could see the firelight in the old town. Because the price of coal had recently increased, even at three o'clock in the morning, there were places where bonfires were burning. Vaguely, some people were dozing off by iron barrels, occasionally throwing firewood in to burn for a while. It's said that workers from Ice Steam City and some railway organization were causing trouble, probably akin to the workers' movement from the past life, mainly to fight for better welfare. The strike activity caused the coal prices to rise quickly, and the supply was somewhat short, making it slightly harder for some families to bear this cold winter.
Click.
Su Ziyu lit a cigarette for himself and slowly took a drag.
"Deep scan self."
"Check for mental pollution." Su Ziyu exhaled a puff of smoke and said slowly.
In an instant.
A massive stream of data in his mind began to operate automatically. The Space-Time Monitor System had a certain ability to scan himself, much like antivirus software. Although sometimes it couldn't eliminate viruses, it could identify the infected ones.
"No mental pollution detected!"
Accompanied by the prompt from the Space-Time Monitor System, Su Ziyu couldn't help but relax a bit.
Spiritual Vision is indeed a divine skill.
Almost every time Su Ziyu used it, there were always unexpected discoveries, but this skill also had significant issues; every use could potentially reveal things that shouldn't be seen. This was the second day of Su Ziyu's return, and tonight was the third time he'd heard the strange pronunciation of 'Cthulhu.'
That terrifying thing is looking for him!
There's a saying that goes — when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
Similarly.
That day on the plane, when Su Ziyu used Spiritual Vision and saw it, it also saw Su Ziyu. Fortunately, after so many instances, Su Ziyu had gained experience. As soon as he saw the situation developing, he immediately cut off the Spiritual Vision, preventing the entity from locking onto his spirit. It relied only on vague spiritual remnants, actively sending out mind sensing, attempting to once again receive a response from Su Ziyu.
Looking at it this way.
The monster's situation probably wasn't great, most likely trapped somewhere. Judging by its urgent attitude, it desperately desired deep contact with Su Ziyu's consciousness.
Su Ziyu certainly wouldn't act recklessly.
Thus, he directly blocked the entity's mind sensing; however, since it was a monster of Old Gods level, it could still influence Su Ziyu's dreams through residual spiritual remnants. As long as his own spirit remained unpolluted, once a few days passed and the residual spirituality disappeared, that ghostly thing couldn't whisper in his dreams anymore.
Honestly speaking.
His spirit hadn't been good these past two days; whenever the name 'Cthulhu' rang out, he felt prickling chills all over his body.
His Sixth Sense provided a high degree of danger sensing.
"Daddy?" A small figure appeared on the rooftop.
Su Ziyu's expression slightly paused, he casually extinguished the cigarette and walked over, saying, "Baby? Why are you awake?"
"Why aren't you wearing more clothes? What if you catch a cold?"
He casually took off his coat and draped it over the little girl's body, then reached out and hugged her small frame.
"Did Daddy have a nightmare?" Su Ying looked up and said softly.
That's right.
Almost forgot the little girl also had the Attributes of mind sensing, Su Ziyu's expression instantly grew heavier as he whispered, "Did you dream of anything too? Tell me seriously."
"No." The little girl shook her head, kissed him on the cheek, and held Su Ziyu's finger with her small hand, a bit of worry in her voice, "I just felt that Daddy had a nightmare. Came up to see."
That's good.
Su Ziyu slightly relaxed, patted her little head, and smiled gently, "It's okay. It'll be fine in a couple of days."
"Hmm." The little girl snuggled into his embrace, leaning on his chest with closed eyes.
Su Ying's Talent is exceptional.
Very likely born with mind sensing, she hasn't seen that monster, unlikely to be perceived, probably a father-daughter mind sensing, as Su Ziyu had a nightmare, she felt a hint of spirituality. Much like how she steadfastly believed Pasha wasn't in trouble during her disappearance, the girl's mind sensing ability might be slightly stronger than his.
Ten minutes later.
Su Ziyu carried the little girl back into the room; he gently placed her beside Pasha and then sat on the bed, covering himself with the blanket.
