Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 9: Firekeeper's Remains_2

Legend has it that the bodies of Immortal Ancient Dragons can be thousands or even tens of thousands of meters long, but Su Ziyu is somewhat skeptical, thinking this is likely an exaggeration.

However, the Divine Race created by Gwyn in the past was able to kill so many Immortal Ancient Dragons, indicating that the power of the Divine Race at its peak must have been quite astonishing!

"That over there is the Undead Settlement."

Sister Fried pointed to a small town outside the royal city and said, "There's nothing left there but a bunch of mindless walking corpses and wandering souls."

"Would you like to go take a look?"

Sure, go.

Why not?

Su Ziyu nodded without hesitation and said, "Let's check it out first."

The royal city of Lorric was eerily silent, giving Su Ziyu a faint sense of unease. Since he had already found his way here, he wasn't in a rush, so he decided to go visit the small town outside instead to see if he could find anything valuable.

On the way, Su Ziyu also dealt with several wandering souls.

But they were just insignificant creatures, dropping very few souls. They were probably just minor monsters roaming outside. He still needs over a hundred more Energy Value to brew a flask of Jade Dew.

He might find stronger souls in the Undead Settlement.

"Let's go then."

Sister Fried stood up and said, "When I left before, I sensed demonic activity on the western side of the Undead Settlement."

"Would you like me to take you there to have a look?"

Sister Fried had noticed Su Ziyu collecting souls along the way. She thought Su Ziyu was probably trying to absorb more souls, as those mindless wandering souls couldn't provide much Spiritual Energy. He'd need to take down some stronger enemies instead.

The soul of a powerful individual can be several hundred to even a thousand times that of an ordinary person.

Very soon.

A decayed and dilapidated town came into Su Ziyu's view. Many wooden structures had collapsed, yet in the distant tower, there was a hint of movement, seemingly a sharp cutting sound piercing the air.

A faint whisper could be heard.

Just as Su Ziyu approached the vicinity of the Undead Settlement, the Space-Time Monitor System quickly provided some notifications.

"Warning! Warning!"

"Source of pollution detected! ... Unidentified corruption field detected! ..."

Within his perception.

Su Ziyu's consciousness locked onto several entities emitting a red glow. These were the Spiritual Lights transmitted by souls. In this small Undead Settlement, he sensed many sources of pollution.

Time to get to work.

Su Ziyu placed his hand on his sword hilt. Sister Fried fell a few steps behind, holding her peculiar large scythe, yet she seemed uninclined to join the battle.

It appeared she was reluctant to fight.

In his line of sight.

From within a collapsed thatched hut, two or three shriveled figures emerged. They seemed to have detected the presence of the living. Holding a pitchfork, they let out mindless roars and charged forward. These creatures appeared rigid in their movements, but they weren't slow. Wielding the pitchfork, they lunged at Su Ziyu.

A flash of cold light sliced through the air.

The Meteor Longsword at Su Ziyu's waist unsheathed instantly, and in a blink of a sword light, the three farmer-dressed corpses were decapitated.

——"A weak soul (refinable): Gain 20 Energy Value after refinement."

Not strong.

But not particularly weak either.

These farmer-dressed corpses seemed to have also killed quite a few people before. The Power of the Soul within them was significantly higher than that of the wandering souls outside.

Su Ziyu reached out and grabbed a faintly glowing soul. In just that short moment, quite a few farmer-dressed wandering souls emerged, including some wielding regular swords and carrying lanterns, resembling a patrol team in this town.

Boom!

As Su Ziyu used Telekinesis to wield the Meteor Longsword to harvest these creatures, a strange bottle was suddenly thrown towards him.

His spirituality conveyed a sense of danger.

Su Ziyu flicked his finger and used Telekinesis to return the bottle to where it came from.

Rumble!

A muffled explosion sounded.

In the midst of the intense explosion, flames rose up, engulfing more than ten wandering souls. The fire ignited their bodies, and under the burning flames, these foes quickly fell, leaving behind only skeletons in the blink of an eye.

Is this Alchemy Fire Oil from the Demon Hunter World?

The power seems a bit greater!

With a light step of his toe, Su Ziyu soared into the air. Landing quickly, he found his target and with a gesture, another strange black pot appeared in his palm.

——"Flame Pot (curious item): Explodes and ignites a fire when thrown, a disposable item crafted with unknown crystals and magic."

It indeed seemed to contain some crystal powder.

Su Ziyu glanced at it and put it away, turning his gaze to see Sister Fried slowly retracting her scythe, with a headless dried villager's corpse beside her.

It seemed a small monster had just rushed at her.

Most of the wandering souls in this small area were eliminated. Su Ziyu searched a bit but didn't find any valuable magical artifacts.

The whispering sound faintly returned.

Su Ziyu furrowed his brows, listening and perceiving the malice conveyed by spirituality, heading in the direction from which the sound originated.

"Hmm?" Sister Fried slightly furrowed her delicate brows, seemingly having heard something as well.

A dead tree appeared not far off.
