Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 11: Onion Knight and Giant King 1

A piercing sound sliced through the air.

Following that was a dull thud, somewhat reminiscent of the sound of a ballista firing. Su Ziyu glanced at Fried the Nun beside him, with an inquisitive look on his face.

"There's a giant over there."

Fried the Nun had been here before, but she hadn't engaged in combat with the monsters and had gone straight to deliver herself to Su Ziyu.

After thinking for a moment, she said: "Right at the top of that tower."

"Apparently, as long as you say a few words to him, he won't attack you. I don't know who he is, and this giant doesn't speak, but he prevents the zombies from approaching the white tree."

Giant?

Su Ziyu had not yet encountered a giant in this world, so after pondering, he said, "Let's go take a look."

The distance to the tower wasn't far.

As Su Ziyu rounded a house, he noticed a bizarre iron cage on the second floor, filled with rotting flesh, surrounded by scattered bones. Except for the spinal area, most of the human bones were present. The decayed flesh emitted a stench of decay, possibly related to the Skeleton Collector.

Su Ziyu hadn't seen any teenagers or children throughout the town, nor among the zombies, indicating that no newborns had been born in this plane for a long time.

If only a bunch of undead are left, naturally, new generations cannot be born.

Before long.

The giant appeared before Su Ziyu. Standing about seven or eight meters tall, ordinary people could only reach his knee level. His body, severely decayed and cracked, resembled a weathered rock, with moss and grass growing on the skin, and chains wound around him, as if he had been enslaved in the past. The only intact item on him was a Giant Longbow, over four meters in length, while behind him lay a collection of arrows, which were more like massive javelins than regular arrows.

Another undead.

Su Ziyu gazed at the giant's shriveled face from a distance, turning to Fried the Nun, he softly asked, "Have you encountered any normal people since your awakening?"

"Does the Firekeeper count?" Fried the Nun pondered seriously.

"Yes." Su Ziyu nodded helplessly.

He certainly couldn't go to the Fire Transmission Ritual Site, where there seemed to be a dangerous pollution source. Hence, the only seemingly normal person Fried the Nun encountered was the Firekeeper.

This giant had been at the tower for an unknown length of time, judging by the extent of his corruption, it had been a very long time.

"Someone?" Su Ziyu suddenly halted.

Clang.

A crisp sound of weapon clashing echoed.

Below the tower ahead, it seemed someone was fighting, and Su Ziyu exchanged a look with Fried the Nun, lightly tapped his toes, swiftly flipped over a house, and rushed over.

Clang, clang, clang.

A series of weapon collision sounds resonated.

Soon, an ancient elevator appeared before Su Ziyu, and he stepped onto it. The elevator started to move slowly, bringing him to the lower level of the tower, from where the sounds of battle were emanating.

Bang!

Thud.

In Su Ziyu's view was a vast, dimly lit hall, with some corpses lying around the stone pillars. He walked a few steps forward, seeing a round body being knocked back.

It was a knight who seemed quite obese.

His helmet looked odd, round as an onion, appearing quite comical. Despite his size, the knight's movements were remarkably agile. He rolled swiftly to dodge the dark greatsword's swing, maneuvering like a ball, evading enemy attacks while glancing at Su Ziyu not far away.

"Hey..."

The knight spoke in a slow, deliberate voice, even in the face of fierce attacks, calmly saying, "Uh, someone... care to lend a hand...?"

"For some reason, there's a Beastial Knight of the Cold Valley here."

"It seems to have gone insane..."

Clang.

A giant icy gleaming greatsword swung down, and the Onion Knight blocked it with his sword, but the immense force pushed him back a step, interrupting his words.

At this moment, Nun Freya also arrived.

After casting a glance at the huge shadow, sword raised, in mid-air, her expression turned slightly serious, and she whispered, "It's a Warrior Knight of the Cold Valley."

"They were reportedly once knights of the Divine Race."

"Later turned into half-human, half-beast killing tools by Archbishop Shalivan... This enemy is tough to deal with... Watch out!..."

Archbishop Shalivan?

Su Ziyu drew the Meteor Longsword from his waist and asked, "Who is this Archbishop Shalivan?"

"Yirushir's controller," Fried the Nun replied, stepping back with her Giant Scythe, slowly saying, "Shadow Sun - Gwendolin is said to have been fed to Eldritch by him!..."

Hmm?

Wasn't Eldritch relying on its own strength to devour divine beings?

It was fed divine beings?

Then this Archbishop Shalivan is quite a ruthless character!

Clang!

Su Ziyu suddenly dashed forward, swinging his sword to deflect the Warrior Knight's greatsword. The enemy before him was a monstrous creature moving on all fours, resembling a humanoid beast. It was fully clad in finely crafted silver-grey armor, covering almost all parts, essentially a cold, hard lump of iron.
