My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 97: The Driver

John instinctively raised his sniper rifle to block as the Exile marauder that just appeared on his display was now in front of him.

Ding!

A silver dent appeared on the matte casing.

The immense force knocked John off balance, and two mechanical legs immediately stepped on him.

The blade stabbed down vertically like a scorpion's sting.

John raised his sniper rifle again, blocking the fatal blow and getting a clear look at the attacker.

This guy looked pretty gruesome.

They were heavily modified freaks, with no facial features on their heads, only inward-recessed implants, with metal parts flashing strange signals.

Despite being pinned down, John remained calm.

He lifted his knee and delivered a fierce kick to the opponent's groin, knowing that street perverts usually wouldn't give up this sensory spot... Using the force to push his opponent away, he drew out a Butterfly Knife and severed his enemy's neck.

Conductive fluid and blood gushed out like a fountain.

After a brief convulsion, the enemy stopped responding.

Even in Sianweistan, quality matters.

This guy's implants could only be used as tools for getting close, bringing himself face to face; if he couldn't instantly kill the target, all that was left was a showdown of melee combat skills.

John was becoming more proficient at dealing with minions.

The three robots in the distance immediately abandoned suppressing fire, opting instead for precision shooting, much like special operations snipers lurking on the battlefield.

.

As John lifted his head, he saw a camp gunner's head explode, and more bloody holes appeared on the Damascus Camp jacket before the body fell.

The Exile marauder charged the line.

Gunfire, cursing, explosions, collisions...

Dangerous sounds filled the air.

John calmly sheathed his knife and pulled out his revolver, ducking behind a car, waiting for the next Exile to show themselves, then swiftly raised his gun for close-quarters rapid fire.

Bam, bam bam.

John fired several shots at critical points.

The enemy's situation was highly complex, with armor and internal implant structures a chaotic jumble.

He didn't dare blindly trust the bio-scanners, always adding another shot after the body stopped moving.

John had no time to change magazines after finishing the kill; he immediately took out the Zebra GUB, turned around, and shot at the enemies charging into the frontline.

Alonna and Nando were skilled fighters, working together to stabilize the internal line of defense.

The greatest threat remained the three experimental robots.

John tried to counterattack.

But the other side had information positioning technology, and their sharpshooting was ghostly accurate; the moment his head peaked out, the cover was peppered with bullets.

They tried to widen the shooting line:

Nando provided long-range suppression, bearing the brunt of the damage, while Alonna and other gunners engaged in alternating fire...

Only to discover the armor was absurdly tough!

Kinetic sniper shots would only spark a little, electromagnetic rounds didn't leave a visible mark on the alloy plating.

[Damn it!]

[Should have brought some RPGs, take it out with anti-tank weaponry!]

[Sangma Rebi Pool!]

The team comms were filled with swearing.

Clack.

Following the sound, John turned his head to see Alonna tearing the Mantis Blade from the marauder's corpse.

A fleeting image flashed before his eyes.

Alonna's coat flapped as metal screws on her spine emitted a faint blue light, data reflecting in her pupils...

Time returned to normal speed.

Alonna had dashed out of cover.

She aimed to clear the path.

The kinetic sniper rifle called Suresh Meteor fell into John's hands.

He instantly understood, immediately rising and setting up the rifle, the metallic frame feeling the weight of the weapon itself.

Bam!

The metal skeleton trembled slightly from the impact.

John's vision synced with the scope, seeing the Exile he'd just killed and the intense clashes occurring in the distance, while at the chaotic core...

Alonna wielded her knife.

With an oblique descending arc, she severed one of the robot's arms.

Just as she'd guessed.

High armor and precision shooting inevitably came at a cost.

This group of metal clunks had very poor mobility; no matter how extensive the alloy shell coverage, it couldn't cover the shooting ports.

Alonna leaped over the rubble, grabbing the head of another robot and tugging backwards.

She landed with gravity's aid.

The Mantis Blade sliced through the robot's neck, and the integrated panel connected to the magazine was also pierced through.

Alonna's strikes were exceptionally precise, as if she could see the weak points of these devices.

[Chip: Insight]

Her Sianweistan's frequency of use and movement outclassed that of the Exile marauder, each residual image accompanied by flying mechanical parts.

Obstacles were taken down by her.

Nando and the camp gunners rolled and charged straight forward.

"F*ck, that's awesome!"

John didn't hide his scan of Alonna.

[Scan: Sianweistan [Isaac Military Industry V Model], Krunchikov [Isaac B25 Limited Edition], High Durability Shock Absorbing Shoulders, High-Powered Muscle Bundles, etc.]

All top-grade gear.

Just as John thought he could finally catch his breath, he noticed Alonna leaning motionlessly beside the main road.

She arduously turned her head, staring at him from hundreds of meters away, speaking slowly.

[The equipment is being externally manipulated.]

"Shit, something's off, Nando!"

Upon receiving the message, John immediately called out on the comms.

Thunk thunk—

The screeching of burning rubber echoed from all corners of the scrapyard, with hundreds of vehicles starting up simultaneously.

Bam bam bam.

Vehicles equipped with automatic turrets opened fire simultaneously, the dense barrage covering more than half of the parking lot.

Countless cars took part.

Bullets were coming from all directions,

The Exiles standing on stacked scrap cars remained unscathed, but the charging camp members were heavily hit.

Vrrrmmm!

The bombardment swept the ground, halting any advance.
