My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 172: Bedfellow

The mission storyline for the Street Racing Gang is quite simple.

It triggers after a routine illegal race ends, with the main goal being to evade ECPD pursuit, cross gang conflict zones, and crash the opponent who is counting money and dodging debts.

Angelica's accounts are quite wealthy.

The character image for the "Street Racing Gang" is female, wearing an intelligent helmet and a black leather bodysuit, astride a top-spec Detroit racing motorcycle, identical in color and customization to the one in Angelica's warehouse.

A blue stream of vehicle information flashes before his eyes.

John revs the throttle and dives into the highway, entering the plot area against the traffic flow.

On the middle road between the overpass and the dried drainage ditch, several motorcycles of different specs speed by, making other vehicles on the road seem stationary in comparison.

A police drone's spotlight cone flashes overhead.

Red and blue police lights flicker in the distance.

John can see holographic directional arrows and street racing boundaries on the road in his field of view. The game introduces many high-difficulty obstacles, with the race route often going against traffic.

He takes a shortcut over a collapsed billboard, navigates obstacles between waterlogged street food stalls, leaps through the voids of abandoned buildings, and drifts around rusty sculptures in the central square…

Each high-difficulty maneuver carries the risk of a fatal crash, but completing them lets him leave teammates behind, with extra score settlements and mission evaluations skyrocketing.

John has no burden of death, so he simply lets loose with his riding.

As he passes through the finish line detection area, he doesn't even see the headlights of an opponent behind him on the curve.

Next comes evading the gang pursuit, a process that isn't too challenging; the key is that gang conflict zones in the game are more dangerous than in reality.

John, having just shaken off the police, runs into a hail of bullets as if both sides of the thugs were aiming at him.

Fortunately, Angelica's account character is equipped with under-skin armor, so the severity of the gunshots doesn't lead to a failure verdict.

The vehicle navigation system displays the coordinates of the competitors.

John synchronizes with his bionic eye, seeing several fast-moving inverted triangle markers on the city roads.

He grits his teeth and speeds through a street filled with burning vehicles, leaps over the top of tin-roofed huts, navigating explosions and gang crossfire, until calm descends and he finally sees another motorcyclist evading police moving through traffic.

John finally exhales, immediately twists the throttle, executing an extreme drift through dangerous curves to get close, then kicks off, causing the game-controlled racer to lose balance and crash.

The out-of-control motorcycle collides with the police car behind, resulting in an explosion.

As John escapes the scene, he hears a massive roaring sound behind him; the system uploads the street racing data to the server, while enormous flames rise on the street, finally forming an uncontrolled tornado that completely stops the police pursuit.

[Server account information synchronized.]

"Done."

John removes the headband, shakes his head to relieve the intense shock from the explosion and the adrenaline rush.

"Nicely done, mercenary, whew~"

Angelica inexplicably lets out a breath, with a med kit and various emergency medications on the table beside her.

"I only asked you to play a game for me; there's no need to risk your life. Seeing your contribution and effort, I'll add some extra rewards."

"More recipes?"

"...Don't price your life so cheaply."

Angelica purses her lips, indicating she will transfer the distribution quota of the Radiant Dust Farm to John.

The farm owner has already collaborated with the Wanderer.

Recently in Eden City, they have been scouting out various shops, preparing to expand the fresh food business and launch a business war with the protein food factories, potentially involving political and military conflicts.

The Radiant Dust Farm currently only has one skyscraper factory; before purchasing and installing the second base, the yield of fresh raw materials is limited, and costs will be relatively high.

Most of the production has to be used for self-operation, supporting storefront consumption, with major distributor quotas getting cut, and even individual household qualifications might be revoked.

Most business within the West District will eventually be controlled by Bone Shards.

Angelica herself does not wish to engage in the food business and plans to give her share to John, making it much easier for him in terms of store supply and later expansion.

"Hey, I just helped you pass two games, and you want to hand over the business to me? Even a fool could tell something's unusual with you."

John is still more concerned about Angelica's state.

She nonchalantly brushes her hair aside.

"It's only valuable in your eyes, I'm not interested, and my consumption is low enough to ignore. Wait a moment, it seems I indeed gave you too much, you might have to return some..."

As Angelica speaks, she lifts the towel, revealing a large swath of pale skin interspersed with freshly colored tattoos, swings her golden hair, and presses John into the couch.

This sudden stimulus is like striking a matchstick.

The intense friction is startling; the slight pain instinctively provokes anger and a desire for revenge, further evolving into an animalistic instinct.

John feels ambushed by a passing assassin.

He quickly seizes the initiative, only to find his opponent remarkably resilient, clinging onto him with some hysterical emotion, refusing to let go until utterly exhausted by the struggle…

Whoosh whoosh whoosh—

The sound of water in the bathroom disappears.

John emerges holding a dripping-wet Angelica; the skin-to-skin contact rekindles the warmth from the reduced blood flow, making his heartbeat briefly accelerate, only to be suppressed by the shadows of the fierce battle earlier.
