My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 187: Response Failed (Part 3)

The furniture and decorations were all overturned.

The sliding door to the office was blown open.

Company dogs slaughtered by Samurai Swords were scattered around the room.

John supported Angelica as they maneuvered through the bloody hallway, catching sight of a half-open meeting room at the end.

[Intrusion detected, warning...]

Suddenly, his vision blurred, streams of data appeared, and the surrounding walls and carpet fragmented into dark green data grids.

John tried using Black Light to clear the intrusion but realized this wasn't a standard approach.

[Anti-Program BLACK ICE[Warning]]

The Internet Surveillance's Black Ice plugin seemed a bit different.

This area was entirely blocked by a demon program, rendering Black Light and high-tech equipment unusable without defense.

Black Light couldn't stop it either.

Unless the device's transmission point was found for a physical connection.

Click.

John was suddenly pinned down by an unexplainable force, a dark gun barrel pressed against his head.

Angelica also fell to the ground.

Two Jingke Blue Shield Defense Robots appeared beside them, their silent approach akin to "Chuan," equipped with some sort of special cloaking device.

[Device: Jingke Blue Shield Defense Robot[V-Model]]

They imposed a pressure on John comparable to "Chuan."

Jingke Heavy Industry, being a multinational giant, was undoubtedly competitive against the Raqi Group in terms of funds and heritage.

They surely had secret trump cards and specialized equipment.

John wanted to activate Sianweistan.

The robot grabbed Angelica's hair, pressing a curved blade against her fair neck, any slight struggle would cut her skin, not even with time halt was the rescue assured.

"F*ckin' squid!"

John was forced into submission once more.

They were led into the only open meeting room.

John could distinctly feel the power of the blockade area intensifying.

The room was somewhat dim, without a table, and the walls and central area displayed incomprehensible holograms.

Several chairs were gently sinking into the floor.

A remote online meeting seemed to have just taken place here.

"Oh, finally some good news. Where on earth did you spring up from, little thief... Never mind, doesn't matter. I should thank you for bringing her back, saved me the trouble of finding her slowly."

In the room, a single chair remained unlowered, with a Jingke executive seated upon it.

Dressed in a high-end suit, his physique was perfectly proportioned, giving no hint of his age, his muscles as flawless as a male model from a street photo advertisement.

These top-tier figures living in the clouds tend to maintain strict body management.

John also noticed heaps of electro-sparking corpses piled in the corner.

The attacking "Chuan" had been completely dealt with.

Despite the repression, with death looming at any moment, his mind became clear— the blockade program set up in the room was likely targeting "Chuan," and Black Light being restricted was merely coincidental.

A sturdy figure emerged from the shadows.

Mr. Vito stood before Angelica without expression, kneeling to inspect her eyelids and side face, seemingly checking something.

The Jingke executive smiled.

"I will send Ariani to Europe to stay with her brother until you seriously consider the board's advice..."

Mr. Vito seemed oblivious.

He silently squatted beside John, softly asking.

"Is she alright?"

The expression was very intriguing.

John, momentarily lost in thought, suddenly reacted.

"Yes, the blockade program is lifted."

Upon hearing this, Mr. Vito smiled, touched his graying temples, the wrinkles on his face relaxing in a breath of relief.

He suddenly pulled a silent pistol from John's body.

Turned.

Pulled the trigger.

The bullet pierced through the Jingke executive's widened eyeball.
