"Thud—"
The torrent of Elements instantly crushed Cody's Defense Barrier, giving him a thorough 'baptism' from all angles.
"Ahhh—" Cody let out a miserable 'wail,' echoing persistently throughout the Life Domain.
As a wizard who has lived since the era of gods, naturally, he could handle this level of pain.
But without screaming miserably, who knows how long Francis would beat him?
Being able to endure pain doesn't mean he likes it, especially when it's 'meaningless' pain.
In the center of the Life Domain, listening to Cody's wails, the corner of Francis' mouth twitched involuntarily.
At least make your act more convincing!
Using voice projection, are you afraid I couldn't hear you?
In his view, Cody's 'wailing' was utterly mocking and a highly insulting affront.
"Speaker Lole will take a while to engrave the Space Runes. While I'm free, I want to see how long you can wail," Francis thought silently while watching Cody's performance, unmoved by his cries.
...
Betula Continent, top floor of the Lor Wizard Tower.
Lor and Agular sat opposite each other, the long table before them filled with empty wine bottles, indicating a previously enjoyed feast.
"Mentor, do you have any specific plans for the future?" Lor inquired casually, setting down the last bottle.
"Specific plans?" Agular chuckled, "Besides wanting to explore other planes, I don't really have any."
"Some other planes are relatively safe, but unstable,"
Lor shook his head, "Like in the Forest Plane, we haven't entirely controlled those fifth-tier Yin Flowers and Saint Asia Trees."
"As for Arrowfish Plane, it's primarily a Trial Field, which isn't suitable for you either right now."
"However, there's a place that could slightly meet your needs, where you can often see the customs and discoveries of various planes, including rare plants and minerals. Would you like to visit?"
"What place?" Agular asked curiously.
"The Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute," Lor replied.
Currently, practicing witchcraft is unsuitable for Agular as it might accidentally cause an overflow from the Origin Container, greatly reducing his lifespan.
Therefore, assigning him to represent him in identifying exotic items fulfills Agular's desire while ensuring safety, making it the perfect solution.
"Well..." Agular pondered for a while before nodding. "The Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute indeed is an ideal place for me; I appreciate your efforts."
"It's nothing, really," Lor said with a smile, waving his hand as he took out the Continent Communication Device, sending a message request to Amy.
A second later, the call connected.
"Greetings, Speaker Lor," Amy bowed respectfully on the other side of the light screen.
"No need for formalities," Lor waved his hand, getting straight to the point, "I'm reaching out because I want your help in arranging for my mentor to join the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute."
"Of course," Amy responded, asking, "What position do you want Wizard Agular to have within the institute?"
There are many roles within the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute, such as Resource Receiving Mage responsible for negotiating with extradimensional beings and collecting tribute items.
And Authentication Assistant responsible for categorizing items for send-off to various speaker representatives among many others.
The two most important roles include defining resource value ranges, as Speaker Representatives do.
And detailing the pricing based on resource quality within those ranges, done by an Authentication Wizard.
"Make him a Speaker Representative," Lor suggested with a smile.
Previously, he'd not positioned anyone in the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute; this role was reserved for Agular.
Now it seems to have been left at just the right moment.
"Sure, I'll send out the admission news for Wizard Agular now,"
Amy nodded, "When Wizard Agular arrives at Francis City, he can head directly to the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute, and an Authentication Assistant will be there to meet him."
"Of course, he may bring his assistant if desired, simply provide me with their information."
As a Speaker Representative, one stands at the top tier of the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute, exercising substantial autonomy.
Bringing a few assistants is hardly worth mentioning.
"Alright, thank you," Lor said.
"It's my duty," Amy replied, shaking her head.
"Alright, then I won't disturb you any longer," Lor finished the call, turning to Agular with a smile, "Mentor, Amy's side will soon arrange everything; you can go to the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute anytime."
"Great, I'll head there soon," Agular responded.
"There's no rush; as a Speaker Representative, you can go at your convenience."
Lor explained, "Only when new resources excavated from other planes require pricing will you need to negotiate with other Speaker Representatives."
"Moreover, if they belong to my plane or vassal races, you'll have absolute autonomy."
"Aren't you worried I might mistake something worthless for a treasure?" Agular joked.
"As long as it makes you happy," Lor shrugged, "Mistake a worthless item for treasure, and we can just consider it a welfare distribution to the vassal races."
He really doesn't lack Magic Crystals right now, and the Space Wizard System doesn't require additional resources.
The Time Wizard System even less so; what the players consume during tasks in Magic Crystals is insignificant to him.
As long as Agular is content, he can do whatever he likes, Lor doesn't mind.
"As expected of Speaker Lor, you're so generous!" Looking at the nonchalant Lor, Agular couldn't help admiring deeply.
Lor's words effectively handed over the full control of other-dimensional resources to him,
which involves interests envied by many other speakers.
If he schemed a little, he could gain substantial resources.
But, gaining resources serves no purpose for him, as his path forward is blocked. He realized asking Lor directly for something might even be simpler.
The primary reason for becoming a Speaker Representative at the Other-dimensional Resource Identification Institute was to broaden his knowledge.
"You flatter me, Mentor," Lor smiled, standing up, "Sharing a drink with you today did wonders for my mood, but I still have matters to attend to, so I cannot keep you company longer."
After relaxing for most of the day, it was time to work on the Spatial Engraving, a task that could take decades to complete initially.
"Go ahead, then," Agular stood while his face beamed.
As Lor stepped out and disappeared, the smile on Agular's face faded, replaced by confusion.
"What is it that worries you so?" he wondered silently.
In terms of status, Lor stands at the peak within the Wizard Plane.
In terms of power, having broken through to the Fourth Ring, he believed Lor to be not far behind the strongest in the Wizard Alliance, Speaker Francis.
In terms of wealth, during casual conversation, Agular was made aware of the significance of 15% of other-dimensional resources.
Yet, this powerful and dazzling student showed occasional signs of worry while talking to him, something Agular found almost unfathomable, even terrifying.
Unfortunately, without Lor voluntarily mentioning it, Agular couldn't inquire.
After all, anything capable of concerning Lor probably relates to the biggest secrets within the Wizard Alliance, and knowing too much can be burdensome.
"I hope everything goes smoothly for you," Agular sighed, deeply burying the hint of Lor's unwittingly disclosed worry in his heart.
Being just a disabled Fourth Ring Wizard of blocked future, he truly couldn't assist Lor much right now.
