Wizard: I Have a Game Panel

Chapter 228: Tier 4 War Fortress (2)

Waiting for a long time is not something that cannot be tolerated for this.

Having finalized its plans for the future, it thought for a moment, and the surrounding Power of Faith was absorbed by it rapidly as if into a black hole.

...

Three days later.

Wizard Plane, Milton Continent, within the Divine Realm Spatial Layer.

A Life Domain enveloped a surrounding area of one hundred thousand miles, vast and boundless.

"Speaker Francis, can't I just concede defeat?" Cody's voice echoed loudly across the vast Hundred Thousand-mile domain, full of momentum but somehow lacking in force.

However, the implication of his words strangely diminished the grandeur.

"Not acting anymore?" Francis asked calmly.

"No more acting!" Cody said, grinning as he winced, "Just tell me what you want me to do, and I'll make sure it's done perfectly."

"In a few years, Speaker Lor will conduct a plane displacement experiment, and you will need to cooperate," Francis said as he waved away the various creatures constructed of Power of Life within the domain.

Surely, this refinement would help Cody mellow in temperament.

If the old habits reemerge, another round would be necessary.

However, figuring out how to lure Cody out by then is a problem worth pondering.

"Is that all?"

Cody twitched his mouth, incredulously looking at Francis, "If it was just for this, couldn't you or Speaker Lor have just sent me a communication?"

"Why bother coming all the way personally?"

He initially thought Francis was there for some personal request, like conducting some experiment that required a Divine Artifact.

It turned out to be for official business involving the very survival of the entire Wizard Alliance.

No matter how capricious he could be, he would not take these matters lightly!

Cody felt quite glum, thinking he had taken a beating for nothing.

"There's one more thing," Francis looked at Cody calmly, "I wasn't joking before; it's time for your appointment as a legislator to be settled."

"Haha, I knew I was right to trust you."

Upon hearing this, Cody instantly forgot all the previous unpleasantness and eagerly asked, "Speaker Francis, how many legislators have you persuaded to support me?"

"When will the council meeting for my legislative promotion be held?"

Compared to becoming a legislator, what is a little beating?

Besides, with no one else around, getting beaten by Francis isn't disgraceful.

"I haven't started persuading the other legislators yet," Francis said, tossing a blue Memory Ball that appeared from nowhere, "But as long as this video is released, I'm confident they won't oppose you becoming a legislator."

In terms of achievements and qualifications, Cody is definitely not inferior to most legislators.

The only reason he hasn't become a legislator until now is because of that mouth of his that started spouting nonsense after the Faith Wizards' chaos.

Now, by sending the video of Cody getting beaten to other legislators, no one will make things difficult.

"Uh... this..." Cody's smile became stiff, stammering, "You... you recorded it?"

Just now, he thought only Francis knew about him getting beaten, which wasn't disgraceful.

But it turns out Francis not only recorded it but also plans to send it to other legislators.

If that's really the case, his council meeting for legislative promotion might turn into a joke assembly, right?

He enjoys others being the butt of jokes, but it's not so great when it happens to him.

Especially when becoming the butt of the joke at a council meeting for legislative promotion.

"What, you're unwilling?" Francis raised an eyebrow, suppressing a smile as he asked.

"No... not exactly unwilling." Cody wanted to refuse, but his damn mouth betrayed him, skillfully taking back the words just about to escape.

There's no way around it; the allure of becoming a legislator is just too great for him.

Making some sacrifices for it seems like... might be... should be okay.

"As long as you're willing."

Francis nodded, "Then it's settled. You can head back now and remember to be ready for any notification from Speaker Lor about the experiment."

"Also, if there are no surprises, your council meeting for legislative promotion should be held in Wizard Calendar year 1550."

"Should anything arise, then the meeting will be convened after the experiment."

By the end, his expression turned grave.

No one likes surprises, including him.

But if Lor's speculations prove correct, then facing them is all that can be done.

"Surprises?" Cody looked at Francis in confusion.

He already knew about the future plans and the enemies they would face; hadn't all the countermeasures been decided earlier?

How did a surprise get introduced suddenly?

"Yes, it's Speaker Lor's latest speculation..." Francis repeated what Lor had told him.

Hearing about the possibility that the Seventh Ring's path might become unreachable, cold sweat broke out on Cody's forehead.

But thinking about it again, if the displacement of the plane truly has such a major impact, it seems he wouldn't need to worry about the Seventh Ring, and perhaps even the Sixth Ring wouldn't be a concern.

After all, he's a Faith Wizard.

...

Wizard Calendar year 1477, August 18th.

Outside Francis City on the Milton Continent, in a barren gobi.

More than thirty Great Wizards of the Third Ring, clad in golden Wizard Robes, and twelve legislators in robes of various colors were busily completing the finishing touches on a colossal structure in front of them, checking for any flaws in the Wizard Alliance's first Fourth-Tier War Fortress.

This War Fortress was circular, with a diameter of about thirty miles, resembling a slumbering giant beast, exuding a suffocating aura of oppression.

The outer wall of the fortress was cast from black steel, each inch of which was inscribed with rune combination arrays full of mysterious aura.

These runes weren't static but flowed slowly with the changes in light, slithering like living beings on the iron wall.

Sometimes they gathered into intricate Magic Arrays, sometimes scattered into sparkling starlights, as if the entire fortress was shrouded in an invisible Magic Barrier.

The twelve legislators were checking their respective Magic Arrays, while the Third Ring Great Wizards were responsible for checking whether the Energy Furnace supply system inside the War Fortress was error-free and whether any conflicts existed between the supply systems.

Moments later, everyone completed their checks, finding no issues.

Legislator Balin, who was overseeing the Magic Artifact Research Institute, flew to stand before Dean Basil and said, "Submit an application report to Assistant Amy; this War Fortress should enter the phase of practical testing."

The so-called practical test is not about starting the War Fortress for battles in extraneous planes.

Instead, it is about breaking the surface space, entering the Divine Realm Layer Space, and having a legislator as an opponent to let Third Ring Wizards drive the War Fortress to engage, to see what the practical effect is.

However, on the Milton Continent, Fourth Ring Wizards cannot easily break the space layer, not even legislators, and so it's necessary to first submit an application report to Amy.

"Alright." Basil nodded and took out a Continent Communication Device to initiate a communication request with Amy.

Before long, the communication was connected, and a light screen floated before Basil.

"Dean Basil, are you applying for more materials this time?" Amy's cool voice came from the light screen.

During this period when the Fourth-Tier Energy Furnace had stabilized completely, Basil often requested some relatively scarce extraneous plane mineral resources from her to attempt crafting the Fourth-Tier War Fortress.

It's not that the Alliance had restrictions on Basil's requests for resources or that he wouldn't receive them without applying through her.

The primary reason is that some resources are scarce even in the Wizard Alliance's inventory, requiring organizations to be sent to extraneous planes for extraction.

Those extraneous planes that have been completely subdued are better managed; they just require deploying some Low-tier Wizards to extract.

But if the resources Basil requests are in War Planes, groups of Wizard Militias might need to be organized for offensive and defensive battles.

"No, this time it's not about applying for materials." Basil bowed and explained, "Now that the Fourth-Tier War Fortress has preliminary shaping, it needs a practical test. Legislator Balin plans to break the space barrier, and I came to report to you."

"Alright, I'll note it down." Amy nodded, a hint of curiosity flashing in her eyes, "Besides, I would also like to come over and watch. Wait for me to arrive before starting the experiment."

"Okay, we all look forward to your suggestions." Basil replied promptly.
