Wizard: I Have a Game Panel

Chapter 232: A Weight Lifted

"Ladies and gentlemen, please keep quiet," Francis gestured downwards with his hand, scanning the room as he slowly explained, "The elemental upheaval that occurred at the center of the plane and the plane barrier just now was due to Speaker Lor's experiment."

At these words, many of the legislators were stirred internally, casting nervous glances at Lor.

Lor's experiment, which even agitated the entire plane to cause an elemental upheaval, left only one possibility aside from experimental witchcraft.

That possibility is the plane migration experiment.

Since experimental witchcraft would clearly not warrant the convening of an emergency council meeting and would certainly be reported in advance, it can be ruled out beforehand.

So even before Francis finished speaking, they had already guessed the answer.

What made them nervous was whether the experiment had been successful.

"Indeed, as you all suspected, Speaker Lor's experiment was precisely about plane migration."

Seeing everyone's gaze directed at Lor, Francis allowed a barely noticeable smile to appear at the corner of his mouth, and without giving Lor a chance to speak, he continued, "As for the result, well, it was both a success and a failure."

Moments ago, he had been on tenterhooks about this matter, and now he definitely needed to get some satisfaction back from these folks.

Otherwise, wouldn't it be a loss?

"Both a success and a failure?"

"What's going on?"

"Where has our plane migrated to now?"

"Has the cross-plane teleportation array failed?"

...

One question after another came in rapid succession, and the expressions on everyone's faces grew more tense.

Plane migration is a fundamental safeguard for the Wizard Plane, and any problems would be unthinkable.

Lor glanced at Francis, choosing not to interrupt. This presumably was to give the other legislators some mental preparation before discussing it further.

One had to admit, it was indeed quite skillful.

If it were him, he would definitely choose to speak frankly right away.

This might result in the other legislators receiving a more severe blow, which was entirely unnecessary.

"Please remain calm," Francis lifted his hand again, pressing down as he spoke slowly, "Earlier, Speaker Lor brought along Cody and me..."

He recounted the experiment from before in full, concluding, "Thus, it's both correct to say the experiment succeeded and failed."

"Could it lead to plane collapse?"

"Unable to ascend the Seventh Ring?"

"This..."

The legislators' expressions turned extremely grave.

The cost of plane migration was indeed enormous, making it difficult for them to accept.

But Cody's eyes flashed with a trace of surprise and delight.

He was surprised that neither Lor nor Francis doubted his words, and that Francis had recounted everything in full.

Could it be that Lor only saw the method of migrating the plane but not the scene after the migration?

The delight lay in the prospect that if this line of deduction continued, as long as it didn't reach a point of despair, the Wizard Alliance wouldn't choose to migrate the Wizard Plane, securing the path extended by the players.

On another screen, Sanchez's face showed signs of excitement.

Speaker Lor was no longer able to save the situation; the Wizard Alliance would ultimately rely on him for salvation.

As long as he broke through to the Sixth Ring, he would become the most dazzling legislator of the Wizard Alliance.

Even if he remained at the Fifth Ring at that time, he was confident he could contend with Silver Wolf.

Losing would mean merely dying, but if he won...

Sanchez's breathing became more rapid, his ten fingers clenched into fists, and just thinking of that scene filled his heart with an inexplicable excitement.

"Of course, there's no need for everyone to be tense."

Finally feeling they'd been held in suspense enough, Francis spoke leisurely, "Just now, I learned from Speaker Lor that he has a ninety percent chance of holding Silver Wolf at bay, providing Sanchez and Vincentia the opportunity to break through to the Sixth Ring."

Hearing this, Sanchez instantly felt a trace of disappointment.

It seemed the most dazzling figure was still Speaker Lor. Even if he broke through to the Sixth Ring later, he couldn't compare to Lor, truly unfortunate.

In contrast, other legislators, including Cody, showed expressions of relief.

Thankfully.

Thankfully Speaker Lor was there, or else the Wizard Alliance would face a dilemma.

"Everyone, now is not the time to relax."

Lor frowned at their behavior, "I do have a ninety percent chance of holding Silver Wolf, but there's still a five percent chance that Silver Wolf will escape the Wizard Plane Group, a four percent chance that Silver Wolf will injure me severely, making me unable to hold him at bay and forcing us to migrate the plane."

"The remaining one percent chance is Silver Wolf counter-killing me."

"We must discuss a complete plan to use as a contingency for these bad scenarios."

Just having ninety percent assurance, these people assumed a guaranteed-win attitude, which was really quite absurd.

He must awaken them to the fact that the Wizard Alliance's crisis was at a critical juncture, and they couldn't afford even a slight negligence.

"Haha, Speaker Lor is right; we should indeed have a thorough discussion."

"Right, Speaker Lor has indeed considered it thoroughly."

"With Speaker Lor present, the little Silver Wolf is no threat."

"Indeed..."

Upon hearing Lor detail the one percent remaining possibilities, some legislators even laughed, and others joined in with cheering.

No one shared Lor's worries.

These legislators had practically all lived through the era of the gods; what scenes hadn't they witnessed?

Having ninety percent assurance seemed to them to be a guaranteed victory!

The only one who hadn't lived through that era was Sanchez, and for him, the feeling was the same: disappointment and more disappointment.

Darn it, Lor stole the spotlight.

Lor: "..."

Faced with these oblivious colleagues, he truly felt powerless.

"Speaker Lor's proposal indeed merits a discussion; everyone is welcome to share your thoughts," Francis resumed after the compliments quieted down.

Though he felt Lor was somewhat over-cautious, he agreed that a detailed plan was indeed necessary.

"If Speaker Lor indeed makes a mistake and fails to delay Silver Wolf, we should prioritize protecting Speaker Lor, Sanchez, and Vincentia. They are our assets for a comeback," Jerald was the first to speak up.

"Indeed, and unless absolutely necessary, we should never migrate the plane."

"Yes, the cost of plane migration is enormous; avoiding it is best."

"If Speaker Lor indeed dies unexpectedly, there's nothing more to say but to fight Silver Wolf to the end, as we would have no way back then."

"I hope Sanchez can break through to the Sixth Ring soon, so Speaker Lor doesn't have to risk it."

"I wish the same, but even with an ample supply of Abyss Crystals, skipping the accumulation phase, harmonizing five Abyssal Bloodlines to form a dual True Body still needs time, not to mention breaking through the Sixth Ring," Sanchez helplessly spread his hands.

After this, they discussed several contingency plans in detail, taking nearly five hours to conclude.

"Alright, the discussion regarding Silver Wolf ends here for now."

Seeing no one else wanted to speak, Francis announced the second matter: "I propose again to grant Legislator Cody a seat as a legislator, but there's no rush to vote; you might as well watch a piece of footage first."

As he spoke, he manipulated the continent communication device, sending the footage of Cody's lesson to everyone.
