My Disciples are Too Idiotic

Chapter 239: The Strongest Qixi Festival Event in History! (Requesting Monthly Votes)

「Profound Yellow Sect.」

The Great Inventor and his team, upon returning, threw themselves into refining and alchemy without delay. The Dung Beetle and his comrades from the Ao Xiang Squad wanted to lend a hand as well, but to their dismay, the Great Inventor flat-out rejected them, leaving them all feeling brushed off and snubbed.

Indeed, both refining and alchemy become more efficient with more hands. However, not all of the more than a thousand players were interested in refining or alchemy. In fact, quite a few players now found themselves with nothing much to do.

Why? The Spiritual Stones earned from slaying Demonic Beasts weren't all that much, the Sea Race had quieted down as well, and there had been no news about the Fourth Test. Players were clueless about what to do next. Pioneering new areas? But all their friends were busy with alchemy, so it would be no fun doing it alone. Hunting Demonic Beasts? That seemed like a bit of a time-waster, especially since the value of Demonic Beasts had dropped with the game updates. A breakthrough? That would only be an option upon reaching the Nascent Soul Realm. And right now, everybody was stuck in the Golden Core Realm; the Realm-Breaking Pills from the Great Inventor and his team were only effective at the Golden Core level.

To move forward, they had only two choices.

The first option was to spend Ten Thousand Contribution Points for an immediate breakthrough. However, among the entire player community, it seemed only those from Lingxiao Hall possessed such a sum. Besides, if even the members of Lingxiao Hall had given up on breakthroughs, why would anyone else want to stick their neck out?

The second option was to wait until the Great Inventor created a pill capable of breaking through from the Golden Core Realm to the Nascent Soul Realm. Obviously, this option was more cost-effective, saving Contribution Points and facilitating further advancement.

Xu Nian also noticed the players' dilemma.

Thinking of hoarding Contribution Points for the Fourth Test instead of spending them? As if!

Should the Fourth Test actually launch, he would surely need to ensure fairness. A certain balance had always existed between Third Test players and those from the First and Second Tests.

Thus, when Fourth Test Players arrived, he had to ensure three things! Fairness! Fairness! And damn it, fairness again!

Contribution Points left unspent? You've got to be joking. The System was on his side; there was no way he would let players sit on their Contribution Points.

Xu Nian understood clearly that only when players spent their Contribution Points would their motivation truly be ignited.

So, Xu Nian's intent was simple: develop new events to get players to spend their Contribution Points!

And players soon received notification of the new update.

[Version 3.9 now live, bringing you the 'Qixi Festival Update.' Let love stand the test of time, for eternity lies not in day-to-day companionship.

1. The Fresh Flower List is introduced, allowing players to purchase flowers at the Contribution Hall with Contribution Points to give to the opposite sex. There are two Fresh Flower Lists: the Flower Giving and the Flower Collection Rankings.

The Top Ten on the list will receive the Epic costume: Dream Order.

The top three on the list will receive a Rare Pet: the Seven-Colored Finch.

The first-place player on the list will receive a Legendary Mount: Magpie Bridge Immortal.

Dream Order: The first Qixi Festival Event's Epic costume, an outfit-class Spiritual Artifact, impervious to all spells, repels dust and averts disasters, and is customizable with your choice of dye.

Seven-Colored Finch: A Rare Pet from the first Qixi Festival Event, only available during the event. Thereafter, you may use Precious Beast Pills to continue nurturing it. Upon obtaining a pet egg, you will randomly receive a Seven-Colored Finch of different Realms, with a chance to obtain a mutated version of the same Realm!

Magpie Bridge Immortal: The first Qixi Festival Event's Legendary Mount, a celestial ship-type flying Spiritual Artifact, inscribed with many ancient Arrays. When flying, it's accompanied by the phantom of a Seven-Colored Finch, limited to two passengers.

The Fresh Flower List will end in a week, and the event concludes the day after the Qixi Festival.

2. Illusory Weapons are now available. All participating players who send flowers to someone of the opposite sex will receive a chance to draw for an Illusory Weapon. The more flowers sent, the more draws they receive.

3. Heaven's Gifted Love: Players who form Daoist Companion bonds through Sect Leader Xu Nian will receive a gift from the Sect Leader. These gifts are first come, first served, with plentiful rewards.

4. Match Made in Heaven: All players who form a Daoist Companion bond may share various in-game affectionate videos or photos on the forum. All participating players will receive one 'Flower Rain' firework display, which can be activated at a chosen in-game location!]

Seeing this update, the players were thrown into an uproar.

Isn't this officially the first in-game event ever?

If not for the game notification, players might have forgotten the Qixi Festival was coming up.

Wow, that Damn Game Designer sure knows how to play!

"Isn't this update a bit too frequent? We're already at Version 3.9? Does that mean the Fourth Test Players are coming soon?"

"A Qixi Festival Event, huh? What's the use of cultivating alone? I'm off to find a Daoist Companion. Miss Wanwan, care to collaborate?"

"Ugh, I'm so envious! Say, we hunted Demonic Beasts together a few days ago, didn't we? Why don't we just become Daoist Companions now?"

"I need a lady, a pretty one. I have loads of Contribution Points to spend right now."

"The top three might be out of reach; there are too many hidden Lords among the players, but Top Ten seems achievable."

"Epic costume! Isn't it way better than those cosmetic-only outfits you can buy? Plus, judging by the preview images, it obviously suits us cultivators. White looks really nice."

"When can we get hair dye? I want to dye this thing green; my Daoist Companion ran off with someone yesterday!"

"PFFT, that's rough, buddy. Which one was your Daoist Companion? Let me steer clear of that one."

"It's Tangtang Doesn't Eat Sugar right beside you!"

"..."

Players' enthusiasm seemed to be instantly ignited by the event.

Why?

Such an event allowed players to find partners in-game, and with many female players joining during the Fourth Test, this was something that players from the First and Second Tests envied.
