Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 114: The Terrifying Power of Divine Chosen Level (Part 2)

"I suspect that the massive Burning Blood Talisman in the sky has granted the demons below the ability to be immune to magic. Khorne, the Divine Spirit, has always disdained the power of magic, so there must be a means to be immune to it. You should observe carefully; at the far edges of the battlefield, there are demons being blown away."

Su Li struggled to lift his head and looked towards the terrifyingly massive swastika-shaped rune in the sky. This enormous rune spanned an area of thousands of meters, showering the ground below with burning blood. It was this blood-red sigil that shielded the monsters below the bloody glow from the winds' effects, while simultaneously boosting their power.

Su Li could vaguely sense that this was no longer a mere battle of magic, but a confrontation of the Divine Power behind two Holy Relics of Glory.

Whether the light of the Sun Goddess could disperse the doomsday hue of Khorne's blood, Su Li was unsure.

He only knew that he truly couldn't hold on any longer. His arms ached as if they weren't his own, and his back was so strained he could hardly stand up straight!

Su Li squeezed out every ounce of his strength; he had never been this forceful, not even when lying on Hilude. He shouted, "Hilude, how much longer must I hold on?"

Hilude supported his shoulders, encouraging, "Lord, take a look at the Demon's Chosen One, Skaven Bloodrage."

Even shifting his gaze was a heavy burden for Su Li, but as the battlefield's situation unfolded before him, he felt his heart suddenly race, and a new surge of strength welled up from within!

He saw the thirty-meter-tall form of Skaven Bloodrage, who had lost his prior enraged and rampant demeanor, his body wielding the rune now slumped. He had to use his left arm to support the giant axe, his right hand lifting up the massive rune in the sky.

At this moment, he resembled a giant supporting the heavens, the radiant massive swastika rune pressing down on his head.

He was borrowing Khorne's power, but he also had to bear the pressure that came with this Divine Power!

Each use of a Holy Artifact of Glory consumed a massive amount of the user's stamina.

Hilude continued to encourage, "Lord, we're essentially using your power to deplete Skaven Bloodrage's strength. But in our vast cavalry array, you are just one part. Lacking your charge, we can still... press forward without hindrance. But if Skaven Bloodrage exhausts his strength, then the Demon Legion's momentum will be broken!"

Su Li knew Hilude too well; after all, they were together day and night. Su Li knew her boundaries, and she knew his strengths and weaknesses.

Earlier, she evidently meant to say that if the Knight Legion charged without Su Li, the combat power wouldn't suffer at all.

But considering Su Li's dignity, she quickly rephrased, choosing a way that more carefully preserved his self-esteem.

This was a typical strategy of 'fielding the right horse against the opponent's,' using Su Li, the medium horse, to counter the high-level horse, Skaven Bloodrage from the Demon Legion!

Su Li had only been training for barely four months. Though he had achieved the strength of a formal knight, which was an impressive accomplishment, his training speed surpassing 98% of knights, on this battlefield, he was still insignificant.

But this Chosen One of Khorne had existed for unknown thousands of years. If Su Li could successfully counter him, the demons would inevitably be defeated!

Under normal circumstances, Su Li, with the stamina of a formal knight, could never match the stamina of Skaven Bloodrage, a Divine Chosen Level demon.

His massive figure and formidable strength had stamina far beyond Su Li's, even when both were wielding treasures bestowed by the deities; he could withstand more than Su Li. Su Li hoping to easily counter him was impossible.

However, the current situation was far from normal, and the demon was in poor condition after intense battle.

His body was pierced by six giant crossbow bolts; his legs and feet bore huge wounds, and he had been hit countless times by Thunder Gun bullets. Even with muscles and bones of steel, under the torment of so many wounds, his condition was severely compromised, causing a significant loss of stamina and unavoidably plunging into weakness.

All of this resulted in a massive drain on his stamina, so while wielding this powerful Burning Blood Talisman, his exhausted body appeared even more fatigued than Su Li's.

"Ah, ha! My big friend, well done, hold on!" Dorglin's excited roar sounded across the battlefield.

Although the human knights could no longer charge forward, the Dwarves' firearms could still fire ferociously.

Especially since Skaven Bloodrage could no longer dodge, the precision of the Resentful Giant Crossbow Carriage increased greatly, with four more massive crossbow bolts hitting the monster's enormous body.

His invigorated voice boosted the Dwarves' morale, and the Mountain Shield Arrays roared in response, fighting the Demon Legion until rivers of blood flowed.

In truth, the Dwarf Warriors were in a bad way, with heavy casualties.

The price Skaven Bloodrage paid to support this massive rune was significant, but the Demon Legion received similar boosts.

Every monster beneath the swastika rune burned with a red glow of blood and fire, significantly enhancing their strength, physiques, and weapon sharpness.

The giant axe blades glowed red, and their powerful chops sliced through even the heavy armor of the Dwarves.

As the steel frontline, they could not retreat like the cavalry and wait for an opportunity; they could only construct a steel barricade with their bodies, holding back the charging demons and Chaos warriors to give the Thunderous Firearm soldiers and Resentful Giant Crossbow Carriage time to slay their opponents.
