Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 118: The Second Harvest Season

As a Northern Man, this child Tiberus showed promise from a young age, knowing how to swing a hammer and hack at people since he was just three or four years old.

Slightly older, he took his first step toward becoming a Champion Warrior: by slaying a Snowfield Ice Wolf.

The White Wolf God Yurik saw his bravery and immediately bestowed Divine Grace upon him, marking him with his seal.

Thus, Tiberus made waves in the Northern Territory, with other Northerners, Chaos Followers, and beasts and monsters wandering the wilderness all becoming targets for his record-setting feats.

Following the normal storyline, his wild nature and will to slaughter would perfectly fit the image of Yurik's champion. Then, on a fateful day, he would gain a powerful white wolf and become a renowned Yurik Champion.

But destiny shifted when he turned thirty. He witnessed firsthand the chaotic invasion and plunder by Chaos Monsters of the Nord Territory in the autumn, with Yurik's followers launching reckless attacks, fighting the Chaos Army in the wilderness like savage monsters.

The monsters were repelled, but the coalition forces of the Northern Province suffered heavy losses too.

This scene had occurred annually since his childhood, and he had witnessed it at least ten times. He was fed up with these barbaric, dull tactics; if it was just about hacking people, why not join the Chaos Army like other Northerners on the icefield? After all, the Chaos Four Gods were indeed more reliable and generous than the human deities.

Thus, Tiberus left the snowy northern lands and began his travels to the Empire's center and south. During this time, he fought against a Chaos Egg and killed a giant with just a broken shield.

He visited the Redema sect in the Empire's center and the Sea God Manan's Knight Order in the Empire's west, but these churches all left Tiberus unsatisfied.

Especially the Sea God Manan, as many in the Empire regarded him as an Evil God, yet only his priests insisted, "Manan is no Evil God; don't listen to those yokels. Manan is just fickle, unpredictable, and temperamental—much like the weather."

The members of the Sea God's Knight Order liked to say a proverb: "Manan will have a banquet tonight."

Meaning a terrible storm was approaching.

However, Tiberus always felt this was somewhat different from what he thought and expected.

He sought a banquet from the gods to cleanse the mortal world's filth, but it shouldn't be Manan's storm.

Until he reached the south of the Empire, encountering the Sun Goddess Church, drastically different from the cold, harsh snowfields of the north.

Whether it was the honorable war ideology of the church, the tactical and wise strategies, or the human version of the chaos Waaagh! banquet, everything fulfilled Tiberus's various longings for war. At that moment, he clearly felt that this was the answer he had been so bitterly searching for.

The idea that only the Sun Goddess Church could save this imperiled Empire became deeply entrenched in his heart.

Therefore, during his travels to Marle Castle, he decisively came to pledge allegiance to the newly famed Hesse Territory.

Su Li, of course, happily accepted him; a Champion Knight like him would be welcomed by barons and counts even within the Empire. If he wished to join a noble's army, plenty of nobility would offer him a village's estate and elevate him to a Kingdom Knight.

However, while Su Li liked this Knight, the other knights were quite opposed to him.

Not only because he was a bald, bearded Northern Man but also due to his "self-sufficient" customs.

The north is unlike the south; it is desolate and barbaric, so the Northerners developed the habit of taking what they need by force, and Tiberus was no exception.

As soon as he joined the territory, he noticed that the knights were lavishly equipped, a stark contrast to his ragged armor.

He also knew that Sun Goddess followers esteemed these customs; knights always prepared a refined, luxurious, and glittering set of armor for themselves.

Tiberus naturally desired a similar set, but his assets were entirely insufficient for purchasing such fine armor.

Thus, he began using methods such as "dueling," "threatening," and "provocation" to seize his equipment.

His armor might be mediocre, but his warhammer "Annihilation" was his most potent trophy, boasting perfect quality. Thus, during battles, other knights suffered immensely.

Adhering to the excellent virtue of "plucking the goose as it flies," Tiberus quickly assembled a set of Vibranium Rune Armor, two Dragon Blood Stones, and a Guardian Ring.

His efficiency even astonished Su Li, but before Su Li could reprimand him, he brazenly approached Su Li, stating that he wanted to enter the Griffin Forest.

Because the other knights had Half Griffin mounts, he wanted one too.

The other knights unanimously opposed this and suspected that this guy was just here to grab some gear in Hesse Territory and then run off.

However, Su Li had access to an intelligence network and had no concerns about this, and he resolutely agreed to his request.

Then this fellow surprised Su Li. He rallied in Hesse Town, calling for anyone interested in adventuring into the Blood Pine Forest to join him.

This indeed allowed him to gather over sixty adventurers, mercenaries, and gamblers. All in all, he set off with this ragtag group, and many believed they were highly likely to become fertilizer for the monsters in Blood Pine Forest.
