Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 137: Golden Light Knight · Unstoppable (Part 3)

The night before dawn was exceptionally dark, like a hopeless atmosphere ready to devour everything.

But just as both sides roared and fought furiously on the battlefield until the world lost its light, there was a subtle change beginning to reveal itself on the eastern horizon.

A faint, almost imperceptible beam of light began to traverse the edge of darkness. It was like a sharp blade, slowly slicing through the constraints of the night. The Two-legged Flying Dragons, with their poor vision, failed to notice this subtle change.

On the unobserved edge of the battlefield, this light gradually became brilliant and dazzling. It was not the gentle dawn; it was the bright Fiery Sun!

As the brightness increased, becoming more and more intense, the darkness at the horizon began to recede. In the golden morning light, a Knight Legion bathed in dazzling golden light appeared at the edge of the battlefield!

They were in orderly ranks, their armor gleaming in the sunlight. Banners fluttered, and lances and longswords reflected the golden glow!

Seeing this, Su Li finally smiled, "It's time for our side to counterattack! Blow the trumpet, the whole army charges!"

Dorglin, hearing the order, was overjoyed and asked, "Did our knights finally cross this mountain after a whole night?"

He eagerly raised the brass trumpet at his neck, and the heavy, heart-wrenching sound of the horn echoed, causing countless monsters' hearts to freeze. They had gained an unforgettable and terrifying memory of this horn throughout the night.

Whenever this horn sounded, the humans on the battlefield seemed possessed by demons. The wavering defense lines would become impregnable, exhausted warriors would become extremely powerful, evenly matched battles and even breakthroughs in the frontlines would immediately be overturned by humans. Their combat skills surged, easily killing the terrifying monsters that were overwhelming them just a second ago.

And as the sound of numerous horns rose and fell, the entire stronghold came alive. All the exhausted defenders summoned the last of their morale and launched a fierce charge against the monsters.

This bizarre scene immediately caught the attention of the Two-legged Flying Dragon King, Sandarion. After a night of battle, even its monstrous subordinates were on the brink of exhaustion.

They continued to fight to the death because they had no retreat. In the moment the breach opened, it gambled everything, sending all its troops forward.

Now, under the light breaking dawn, the battlefield looked like a siege by monsters. Each terrifying creature raised its weapon high, surging toward the stronghold like a tidal wave.

If this wave couldn't take down the stronghold, the exhausted and tired Monster Legion might never capture it.

If the defenders managed to regroup and clear their channels, the remaining monsters, even if they perished, would likely be unable to breach these perfect defenses again.

The brain of the Two-legged Flying Dragon wasn't much larger than a walnut. Its foolish mind couldn't devise a stronger tactic; it could only throw all its troops in.

Moreover, these brutal monsters couldn't comprehend overly complex orders.

In the onslaught, even slowing down could result in being trampled to death, let alone a retreat.

Terrifying giants, over ten meters tall, were already all part of the attacking formation.

In such a situation, humans didn't shrink back to defend but sounded the horn for a counterattack?

Even the foolish Two-legged Flying Dragon realized something was wrong.

But it was already too late. In the golden morning light, the territory's most elite knights, having completed their formation, sounded the majestic attack horns.

The gleaming knights seemed to rise from the distant horizon with the Fiery Sun. Their exquisite armor shone brilliantly in the morning sun, their vermilion banners stained the sky red with the dawn.

Like the divine might of the Sun Goddess illuminating the earth, the armored warhorses thundered, and the charge made the ground shake and mountains tremble.

The earth-shattering sound of the charge finally drew the attention of the besieging monsters. They turned their heads in terror towards the horizon and saw the tall Heavy Armored Knights, their lances and sharp swords gleaming with an icy cold radiance in the sunlight. Their battle flags fluttered in the air, while numerous Half-Lion Griffin Knights, under the command of the Champion Knight, charged at the forefront. This legion's spirit was entirely different from the exhausted, overnight-fighting monsters. Their vigor was robust, and their morale was sky-high!

At the same time, Captain Constantine, commanding the cavalry, decisively activated the Holy Relic of Glory: Radiance of the Scorching Sun. The knight's shields burst forth with golden light, blinding the monsters. In this powerful advance, all knights surged like a golden torrent, crashing fiercely into the fatigued Monster Legion.

Their charge was unstoppable, the monsters had no chance to turn. Five hundred glittering knights pierced a vast swath of the battlefield. Monsters fell like wheat, collapsing in neat rows, their formation instantly crumbling over hundreds of meters. Against the knights' overwhelming power, the enemies crumbled!

The monsters attempted to resist but to no avail.

The knights were remarkably elite; 500 heavy-armored knights wielding sharp blades crashed into these defenseless cannon fodder. The power of the gnolls, kobolds, and goblins was utterly inadequate.

The disparity in combat strength was too vast. Even if three to four thousand of them had formed a defensive formation, they would likely be knocked aside by 500 elite knights, breaching their lines. Not to mention, they were currently attacking defenselessly, exposing their bloated formation and unguarded rear to the Hesse Territory's finest cavalry.

These 500 Elite Knights had circled down the mountain path, waiting all night for this moment!

With just three charges, they drove thousands of unsuspecting monsters into a blood-soaked trench.

These trenches obstructed the monsters' escape and counterattack, but for the knights, they were traversable as solid ground. With the effect of the Holy Artifact: Water-Repelling Pearl, knights could charge, retreat, and adjust attack angles at will within the blood-filled trenches.

The monsters, however, were helpless, watching as the knights targeted their vulnerable spots repeatedly, unable to provide any support.

Many monsters were encircled by the knights in full view of their companions, reduced to a pile of fragments on the ground.

Even though the monsters had a numerical advantage, on this part of the battlefield, human cavalry maintained an absolute superiority in numbers, slaughtering with near-massacre efficiency. The encircled gnolls, powerful human-skinned wolves, and even terrifying giants were cut down into a heap of pieces.

After they flattened one monster's position, they collectively moved on to another, initiating an offensive.

Under such a terrifying blow, the monsters finally collapsed completely. After a night of fighting, their heavy losses had already drained their morale to the brink of collapse.

Faced with such a dreadful situation of being outflanked and surrounded, the monsters' morale completely shattered. Without waiting for orders, they fled in terror in all directions. As the knights' front reached them, hundreds of monsters dispersed in panic.

Soon, the Monster Legion, crowded like a tidal wave in front of the border outpost, fled all over the mountains and fields. Thousands of fleeing soldiers abandoned all their weapons and armor, hastily and chaotically retreating in disgrace to the rear.
