King Arthur
The King of England, son of King Uther, was taken to Sir Ector's castle by the Great Mage Merlin due to his enemies attempting to kill him, and was raised by Sir Ector. Later, he was recognized as the heaven-appointed King of Britain after pulling out the Stone Sword, while the well-known "Excalibur" was given to him by the Lady of the Lake after the Stone Sword broke during a fierce battle. He is the founder of the Round Table Knightly Spirit, with many legendary stories, which I won't elaborate on here. For details, you can refer to relevant materials. Arthur, heavily wounded in the battle against his nemesis Mordred, disappeared on a boat to Avalon Island. Some say he died, others say he didn't, but before leaving, he told Sir Bedivere, "I am going to the Realm of Magic. There I can be healed, as long as I am in time. If the United Kingdom needs me, I will naturally return." Thus, the possibility of his death is not high (if Bedivere had listened to him the first time and thrown the sword into the lake, there wouldn't have been so many issues).
The Twelve Knights of the Round Table
The 12 Knights of the Round Table originate from the legend of King Arthur, and are collectively known as the famous knights around King Arthur, named after the round table at which they met. The famous Knights of the Round Table are 12 in number, being:
Sir Galahad
The son of Lancelot and Elaine (King Pelles' daughter). Upon arriving at Arthur's palace, he sat in a dangerous seat, as the knight in this position was responsible for finding the Holy Grail and ultimately succeeded in finding it.
Sir Gawain
The eldest son of the King of Orkney County, he was granted his noble title at Arthur's wedding. He once refused to allow Guenevere to undergo the trial of flames, but eventually, the trial was allowed. During this trial, Gawaine's brother was mistakenly killed when Lancelot rescued the Queen. Gawaine was deeply grieved and sought revenge on Lancelot, which led to the split of the Round Table Knights. However, before he died, he forgave Lancelot and confessed his hatred, ultimately being buried at Dover Castle.
Sir Lamorak de Galis
Sir Lamorak is the son of King Pellinore and is one of the three most powerful knights, having defeated 30 knights at once. His jousting skills were considered unrivaled at the time. Sir Lamorak was Queen Margawse's knight. He was ultimately killed by Mordred when Mordred quietly approached from behind while Lamorak was fighting against three knights.
Sir Bedivere
A knight faithful to Arthur to the end, he was the last knight to survive the battle with Mordred. When Arthur believed he was mortally wounded, he entrusted Bedivere to throw his sword into the lake, but Bedivere couldn't bear to do it twice, until the third time, he finally threw the sword. Then he helped Arthur to the lakeside, letting Arthur depart by boat to Avalon. After this, he retired to a remote monastery, staying there until his death.
Sir Gaheris
Gaheris is also the son of the King of Orkney County and the brother of Sir Gawain. Before becoming a knight, he was his brother's attendant. He and his brother rescued Queen Guenevere during the trial of flames, although it was an accident, Lancelot did not regard them as his people, causing Sir Gawain to hold considerable resentment towards Lancelot for a long time.
Sir Lancelot
The foremost warrior among the Round Table Knights, graceful, bold, and helpful. He attempted to search for the Holy Grail but failed due to his pride. When the trial of flames for the Queen began, Lancelot initiated an unnecessary battle to rescue her from the flames, which caused the split of the Round Table Knights. After this battle, Lancelot repented his sins and became a monk, with no new stories until his death.
Sir Kay
The son of Sir Ector and brother to Arthur (as Ector is Arthur's foster father). During Ector's first tournament, he forgot his sword at the inn, and when Arthur ran back to get it, the inn was closed, so he pulled out a sword stuck in a stone. From then on, Arthur became the King of England. Once Arthur ascended to the throne, he made Kay the steward of the court. Sir Kay had trouble controlling his mouth but was undoubtedly a trustworthy knight.
Sir Geraint
The son of Knight Devon, Erbin, he restored Sir Yniol's territory and fell in love with Sir Yniol's beautiful daughter, Enid, eventually marrying her. After the marriage, Enid complained that he was too lazy, which deeply shamed Geraint, but later he mistakenly thought Enid was unfaithful to him. He took her on a journey with several trials, and finally, Geraint realized that Enid was not unfaithful, so they returned to the castle and spent their remaining days happily together.
Sir Bors de Ganis
The son of King Bors and cousin to Sir Lancelot, he was one of the bravest knights and among the three most excellent of the Round Table. He witnessed Sir Galahad's achievement in obtaining the Holy Grail, and after Galahad's death, he returned to Arthur, giving a detailed report to the king. He was an extremely loyal knight, eventually dying in a battle to uphold the knightly spirit.
