I Collect Skill Fragments in the Demon World

Chapter 226: God-Beating Whip (Part 2)

Although this God-Beating Whip has the same name as the God-Beating Whip in the novel "The Investiture of the Gods," its effects are vastly different. The whip in "The Investiture of the Gods" can only restrain cultivators listed in the Investiture of the Gods, but this treasure can strike any Divine Soul.

In Zhang Chen's mind, small thoughts flickered incessantly:

"With my Five-Colored Divine Light, I can brush the Five Elements Mystery, and combined with this God-Beating Whip, I will be able to freely travel to ninety-nine percent of the places in the world."

However, crafting this God-Beating Whip is no easy task, as the materials required are extremely special.

The first material needed is the Innate Earth Essence. The second is Innate Geng Metal. The third is the Innate Netherworld Origin. The fourth is the Innate Soul Dao Fragment. The fifth is the Innate Yin Yang Qi. The sixth is the Innate Five Elements Qi. The seventh is the Innate Cyan Treasure Tree Qi. The eighth is the Innate Five Greats Origin, which includes gases from five kinds of primordial existence: Taishi, Taichu, Taiyi, Taiji, and Taixu. The ninth is the Seed of the World.

Looking at the nine required materials, Zhang Chen couldn't help but take a sharp inhale; such strange immortal treasures, how could he possibly gather them all?

Fortunately, for these nine ultimate materials, he can initially search for substitutes, sacrifice refine an artifact embryo, and then continuously seek various innate materials to refine into it.

Looking at the refining technique and various materials, Zhang Chen secretly deduced: "I don't have the Innate Earth Essence, but I do have the origin left by the Houtu deity, which is the essence of the earth. Although its origins are unknown, it can initially replace the Innate Earth Essence. As for the Innate Geng Metal, I don't have it for now, but I can use Taiyi Geng Metal as a substitute. Taiyi Geng Metal is also an innate material, though not as good as Innate Geng Metal, it has its own wonderful uses and can serve as a substitute."

"These two materials form the framework, and with them, I can refine the artifact embryo. Then, by continuously adding various mysterious Qi, I can enhance the artifact, or perhaps, find better materials to replace them." Zhang Chen thought to himself: "I have the Nine Bends Yellow River Array, maybe I can attempt to delve into the Yellow Springs to gather the Netherworld Origin, or simply refine the Nine Bends Yellow River Array into it, substituting the Yellow Springs Origin with the array. The Innate Five Elements Qi is not difficult for me, but as for the Innate Yin Yang Qi…"

Zhang Chen thought of the two brushes of Chen Xu, which were born from the Yin Yang Origin; perhaps 'borrowing' some Yin Yang Qi is not too much to ask?

Zhang Chen mulled over it and felt that he could initially refine the artifact embryo of the God-Beating Whip.

The God-Beating Whip is quite peculiar; it has thirty-six levels of restriction. Once the first twelve levels are practiced, one gains the ability: To forcibly expel a person's soul from their body. Regardless of their strength, if they are struck by the God-Beating Whip, their soul will be blasted out from their flesh. Once the middle twelve levels are practiced, as long as the opponent's soul emerges, one can wield the whip against them. Regardless of their realm, if their soul is struck by the God-Beating Whip, it will be immediately slammed back into the body.

The latter twelve levels of restriction are designed to harm the soul. The Yang God has twelve tiers, and the restrictions on the God-Beating Whip have twelve tiers. Each tier can annihilate a tier of existence; if struck by the God-Beating Whip, the soul immediately dissipates, never to reincarnate.

No matter how powerful the soul, no supreme treasure can gather the soul again for rebirth, specifically countering substitute deaths, soul replacements, and all such crooked paths.

These three restrictions can be cultivated simultaneously, with the twelve level restrictions corresponding to the twelve heavens and the twelve levels of the Yang God technique.

"This God-Beating Whip is extremely powerful, almost excessively so," Zhang Chen felt the transmitted information and revealed a gleam of joy in his eyes; this treasure must be crafted, as it would be a crucial weapon once completed.

"Although I now have the basic materials, I still need a type of Heaven and Earth Spirit Fire to refine the treasure; I'm missing a flame," Zhang Chen mused as he tapped his knee, his thoughts racing frantically in search of a breakthrough.

It was unclear how long the thinking went on, but suddenly a face popped into Zhang Chen's mind, the annoying face of Zhong Xiang.

"Zhong Xiang's flame seems quite extraordinary; it could possibly rival twelfth-tier flames. If I could borrow Zhong Xiang's flame to refine the treasure..." Zhang Chen's eyes suddenly brightened: "I'm just worried that Zhong Xiang might be petty and unwilling to cooperate with me."

Countless thoughts swirled within Zhang Chen's mind, and he concluded that no matter how he pleaded, Zhong Xiang might wish nothing more than to chop him into pieces upon seeing him, let alone assist him in crafting the treasure. That's out of the question; there's no point even thinking about it.

"Forget it; I'll leave him out for now. I'll first go find Chen Xu to borrow a strand of Innate Yin Yang Qi," Zhang Chen secretly decided: "Mr. Wuliu is searching everywhere for me, and would never expect me to have sneaked back into his base again."

At this time, the sky was darkening, and Zhang Chen directly transformed into mist, traversing the mountains. From afar, he saw the flames rising skyward amid the mountains, turning the entire sky red, with countless soldiers following the fire through the mountains.

"Is this fire set by Prince Pingbian's Mansion?" Zhang Chen looked at the soldiers inspecting behind the fire, a cold glint in his eyes.

Mr. Wuliu's Yin Spirit emerged and was hovering back and forth in the void, seemingly searching for something.

From his hidden vantage point, Zhang Chen glanced at Mr. Wuliu, then continued his path to the camp of Prince Pingbian's Mansion, noticing that the guards had halved, as most people had been dispatched into the mountains to seek out mysteries and search for Zhang Chen's whereabouts.

Zhang Chen concealed his form and headed directly to Chen Xu's tent, where he found Chen Xu pacing inside, clearly uneasy.

The tent's curtain was suddenly lifted and then dropped, catching Chen Xu by surprise; he turned towards the entrance of the tent: "Is it Young Master Zhang who has come?"

"You're quite clever," Zhang Chen remarked, revealing his form as he stood quietly within the tent, observing Chen Xu.

"Young Master Zhang, you've caused immense trouble; Mr. Wuliu is furious now. To force you out, they've already set the mountains ablaze. You've stolen his Flying Sword, essentially snatching his treasure for suppression; you should flee quickly. If he finds your trail, I'm afraid..." Chen Xu felt a sinking in his heart as he saw Zhang Chen appear in the tent.

Zhang Chen chuckled at these words: "I'm here today to ask your assistance for one thing; once it's done, I will leave immediately."

Chen Xu's heart skipped at these words. Zhang Chen visiting could not be for a good reason, but he dared not resist or cry out, merely serving attentively: "I don't know what Young Master seeks from me? Please instruct, I will certainly comply without objection."

Hearing this, Zhang Chen chuckled: "Previously in the stone cave, you seemed quite unsatisfied with your two brushes, perhaps wishing to discard them, didn't you?"

Chen Xu was taken aback; his act of wanting to rid himself of the two brushes was merely for show to others. In reality, these brushes had great mysteries which he had not yet fully unearthed. He believed these brushes were no less effective than any other mysteries. He had only exaggerated before the crowd, not seriously intending to abandon them.

Faced with Zhang Chen's inquiry, Chen Xu paused and then asked: "What does Young Master mean?"

"I might have a way to help you peel away the two brushes, giving you hope to grasp other mysteries," Zhang Chen said, though in a consulting tone, his words carried an undeniable authority.

"So you intend to target my two brushes," Chen Xu thought with a cold smile; those brushes were not so straightforward.
