I Collect Skill Fragments in the Demon World

Chapter 280: The Mysteries of Yellow Springs Water

Zhang Chen stopped in his tracks, glanced at Wei Yingwu lying on the ground, and couldn't help but sigh softly before disappearing into a stream of water.

Such a character wasn't worth him taking action personally. If it weren't for the fact that Wei was a trusted aide of Zhang Xiaohua, Zhang Chen wouldn't have dealt with him so ruthlessly.

Such people might not accomplish anything, but if they mess things up, they certainly mess it up completely.

He only wished to quietly steal the Power of Incense and didn't want to get involved in any troubles.

Zhang Chen returned to the Daoist Temple. Xiaodouding was very clever, acknowledging Zhang Chen's successful return without asking about the progress, as if nothing had happened.

Zhang Chen lay on the bed to sleep. He was currently in the Qi Refining Stage and hadn't yet escaped the need for sleep, and even in his dreams, he was beaten black and blue.

That night

Zhang Chen came to the main hall again, carefully observing the entire room's setup with his eyes, finally focusing on the statues of the Ancestral Masters and Yellow Heaven. A flash of Golden Light flickered in his eyes, but he couldn't discern any abnormalities.

Activating his Devouring Power, Zhang Chen finally detected something unusual; within the mouth of the Ancestral Master statues, there seemed to be a Jade Fragment exuding a Mysterious aura, wrapped in the Power of Incense, thus obscuring Zhang Chen's True God's Light Dharma Eye from seeing its mysteries.

"So the Power of Incense can obscure my Dharma Eye?" Zhang Chen mused to himself.

However, if the incense transforms into Divine Power, it won't deceive Zhang Chen in the slightest.

Zhang Chen observed the Jade Fragment for a while and noticed it was absorbing the Power of Incense, feeling a bit peculiar in his heart: "So I've encountered a fellow practitioner."

He didn't want to meddle and pretended not to see anything. The Incense Qi within Huangli Temple was abundant, and it didn't affect Zhang Chen's absorption at all, even if someone else shared it.

And so, another two days passed with Zhang Chen focused on grinding Points, and after two days of accumulation, he finally gathered two million Points.

Zhang Chen looked at the Water Stabilizing Rune Interface:

[Skill 14 (Tenth Tier): Water Stabilizing Rune (0/2004800)]

[Points: 2,100,000]

Zhang Chen directly added the points, and the Water Stabilizing Rune transformed again, directly upgrading:

[Skill 14 (Eleventh Tier): Water Stabilizing Rune (0/4005600)]

"Give me another four days, and I can upgrade the Water Stabilizing Rune to the Twelfth Tier, then I can handle many troubles." A glint of anticipation appeared in Zhang Chen's eyes.

Originally, the Divine Enthronement of Yellow Heaven Dao made him uneasy, and now that Prince Pingbian's Mansion was meddling, Zhang Chen felt an increasingly indescribable sense of urgency.

"Huangli Temple has become the center of the storm in the Northern Land. It's actually safer to withdraw now, but unfortunately, I have no chance to retreat." Zhang Chen put away the Golden Finger Interface and disappeared into the night.

Time flew by, and another four days passed. Wei Yingwu's disappearance didn't cause any ripples. Zhang Chen listened to the morning bell ringing in his ears, retracting his devouring hand, and looked at the Golden Finger Interface:

[Skill 14 (Eleventh Tier): Water Stabilizing Rune (0/4005600)]

[Points: 4,100,000]

"Twelfth Tier!" Zhang Chen felt his heart race at the thought of the upcoming skill upgrade, which would be his second to surpass the Twelfth Tier, wondering what unimaginable effects would manifest.

Without hesitation, Zhang Chen added the points directly, and the points evaporated in an instant:

[Skill 14 (Twelfth Tier): Water Stabilizing Rune (0/8011200)]

"Eight million points. If it weren't for being able to act like a parasite in the Yellow Heaven Dao, where would I find eight million points?" Zhang Chen muttered to himself.

Eight million points required eight days, during which he could gather enough to break through the limitations and surpass the Twelfth Tier.

Zhang Chen looked towards the Light of the True God; it required only two million points to upgrade, but Zhang Chen held back. Even if the Light of the True God upgraded one level, it wouldn't impact him much, but if the Sea Calming Pearl upgraded one level, it would possess the power to decide victory or defeat.

Zhang Chen suppressed his impatience, cleaned the great hall, and then returned to the small building.

Time seemed to slow down for Zhang Chen, and everything returned to calm. Zhang Xiaohua emerged from the backyard, persistently trying to build a relationship with Zhang Chen, much to his annoyance, wishing he could tear that face apart, yet he forced himself to endure, determined that when he left Huangli Temple, he would throw him into the Sea of Blood for soaking.

On the fifth day of Zhang Chen's Water Stabilizing Rune upgrade, Xie Lingyun arrived, leading her armored guards to Huangli Temple again.

"Here is what you wanted," Xie Lingyun said, tossing a small package into Zhang Chen's arms. The package was heavy, yet Zhang Chen held it firmly.

"Sister, your speed is impressive," praised Zhang Chen, knowing that refining, purifying, drawing, and weaving gold was no small task, yet Xie Lingyun completed it in less than ten days, which was astonishingly fast.

Xie Lingyun smiled at Zhang Chen's words, "I spared no effort for your matters, how could I delay even a bit?"

Zhang Chen smiled back, unwrapped the package, and found a roll of fabric, which felt metallic to the touch, made of gold threads: the Six-Word True Mantra Seal.

Releasing ultrasonic waves to ensure no one was watching, Zhang Chen finally asked, "Sister, have you heard any news about the Tree of Life Coffin lately?"
