I Pick Up Talents on the Interstellar Battlefield

Chapter 286: Mage Nemesis

"Allen!"

Intense killing intent suddenly erupted in Xia Shangji's eyes. To capture Allen, the Black Cloud Commerce Association had lost countless staff, expending an immeasurable amount of resources, yet he frequently slipped through their fingers.

Now, after finally capturing Allen's companion, he was rescued in public by Allen. The raging fury in Xia Shangji's chest was nearly consuming his sanity.

Allen's gaze was sharp, defiantly meeting Xia Shangji's. As long as Luo Xiu and Vivian were safe, he had no fear of this Tier Six Powerhouse, Xia Shangji.

Can't beat him, but can't I still run?

Xia Shangji snorted coldly, turning his gaze to the three unfamiliar faces behind Allen.

The man healing Luo Xiu and Vivian had a stern face, a black sword slung diagonally at his waist, calm and composed.

Behind him, a giant of a man stood like a tower, his exposed skin covered in dense hair, his pupils glowing with a dark green light, looking more like a Half beastman than a human.

Lastly, the woman was seductive to the core, a bewitching smile on her lips with eyes that could capture souls. Yet Xia Shangji could smell deadly danger beneath her charming facade — like a poison spider weaving a web, using beauty as bait, hiding a heart-corrupting venom.

"Allen, you've finally arrived."

Vivian breathed a sigh of relief, then poured out her grievances: "Do you know how dangerous it was just now? A moment later, and Luo Xiu and I would have really become ghosts under the Black Cloud Commerce Association's knives! And you said you were going to find healing medicine, but disappeared for two whole days. Luo Xiu's blood was almost drained, and in the end, it was the Black Cloud Commerce Association that 'saved' him."

Hearing this, Allen said with shame:

"Vivian, Luo Xiu, I'm sorry, I..."

"No problem."

Luo Xiu spoke, his voice as clear and cold as a blade being drawn, "You arrived. I survived. That's enough."

Hearing this, Vivian mumbled:

"Hmph, you really know how to protect him."

Then she turned to Qin Tian, her smile brightening, "Thank you for saving us, may I ask your name?"

Qin Tian smiled slightly, thinking how lively this young lady was.

"Qin Tian."

"Brother Qin Tian, my name is Vivian."

Vivian said with a smile, looking at Xiong and the Poisonous Widow beside her, ready to speak. At that moment, Xia Shangji's cold shout abruptly exploded: "Allen, do you think bringing a few helpers allows you to be reckless before me?"

Before the words fell, the might of a Tier Six Spiritualist swept over like a tsunami, and the air seemed to solidify instantly.

Allen's eyes were sharp, his green scales covering his body, dragon claws clenching in preparation; Luo Xiu moved half a step back, Evil Qi Sword Intent bursting forth, forcibly resisting the momentum; Vivian was the weakest, almost suffocating under the pressure. Seeing Qin Tian appear unaffected, she quickly hid behind him, the pressure dissipating significantly.

Just as Xia Shangji unleashed his momentum, deep within the underground mine, a colossal creature suddenly opened its eyes, a fierce glow flashing in its emerald eyes.

...

Inside the mine

Inside the mine, Xia Shangji's gaze darted between Allen and Qin Tian, then he suddenly restrained his aura: "Allen, I'll give you one last chance — tell me the location of the underground Spiritual Spring, and the money will be credited immediately."

"Xia Shangji, do you think I would still trust a treacherous villain like you?" Allen laughed coldly.

Upon hearing this, killing intent surged in Xia Shangji's eyes, his voice ice-cold:

"There's nothing left to say then. Attack."

From behind him, a dozen figures leapt out in response, each with at least Tier Four Spiritual Energy fluctuation. Blade edges and Fist Aura whipped up a storm in the narrow mineshaft.

Yet Xia Shangji remained unmoving, locking his eyes on Allen like a hawk — last time, Allen escaped too easily. This time, in this confined space, he would give him no chance.

Allen swung his dragon claw, sending out several Wind Blades to temporarily slow the pursuing attack, shouting urgently, "Go!"

He clearly understood the disparity between their strengths; although Qin Tian was strong, he was not Tier Six, and holding out would be akin to a moth to a flame.

Escaping through the complex tunnels of the mine would give him a good chance.

At that moment, his wrist was suddenly grabbed, and Qin Tian's voice came with casual indifference:

"Just a bunch of small fry, there's no need to run."

Allen was taken aback, turning his head, his pupils suddenly shrank — only to see a dozen dark green vines burst from the ground at Qin Tian's feet like poised poisonous snakes, sharp tips like spears, instantly piercing through the shields of Tier Four and even Tier Five Spiritualists, deeply embedding in their bodies!

"Not good!" Xia Shangji cried out in alarm and anger, but it was too late to stop it.

A chorus of screams erupted, quickly falling silent. Those Black Cloud members who were so arrogant a moment ago were now nothing but shriveled corpses, all life sucked out by the vines.

The crowd from the Shadow Moon House felt a sharp chill up their spines, their eyes on Qin Tian filled only with fear.

Xia Shangji's face turned ashen as the rocks deep within the mine, his knuckles turning white from excessive force, clutching his fists tightly.

These people were his carefully nurtured elites, who had followed him through life and death for years. In terms of rapport and strength, they were the cream of the crop in the Black Cloud Commerce Association.

Tier Four Spiritualists were powerhouses outside, Tier Five could command an area. Yet now, a dozen of them couldn't withstand even a single exchange with Qin Tian, their deaths as horrific as they were.

"Who exactly are you?" Xia Shangji's voice squeezed out through gritted teeth, his gaze fixed on Qin Tian, filled with both killing intent and an unmistakable dread.

He had lived most of his life without seeing such an uncanny ability; those vines seemed to possess life, their speed terrifying, their penetrating power even more so, making the shields of Tier Five Spiritualists seem like paper.

Qin Tian had no interest in wasting words with him, merely glancing at the corpses on the ground, his tone calm: "The one who will kill you."
