I Pick Up Talents on the Interstellar Battlefield

Chapter 287: Tier 7 Mining Beast

Bang! —

The ground beneath them suddenly erupted with violent tremors, as if an Earth Dragon were turning over. The hard layer of minerals cracked open, spewing forth a scorching sulfuric breath, tinged with a nauseating sweetness.

Vivian struggled to keep her balance, crying out as she fell backward, but Allen quickly caught her. Dragon Scales covered his body again, as he warily eyed the source of the vibrations.

Xiong shielded Poisonous Widow behind him, a beast-like growl emerging from the giant man's throat.

Xia Shangji, who was about to retreat, abruptly halted. The Spiritual Sense of a Tier Six Powerhouse made his hair stand on end—a terrifying aura, far beyond his own, was crazily rising from deep underground!

"What is that…" Vivian's voice trembled; the aura carried with it a sense of savagery, violence, and an all-consuming hunger, sending shivers down one's spine.

Qin Tian furrowed his brows slightly, looking up at the fissures overhead. The Soul-Devouring Demon Vine seemed to have sensed the threat too, frantically retracting into the ground, leaving behind deep green marks all over.

The members of Shadowmoon Pavilion took up their weapons, ready for battle. The leader, a man in a black robe, had deep-set eyes, but his attention was focused on Qin Tian, not on alerting their surroundings.

At this moment, the entire mine suddenly sunk!

"Roar—!!!"

A deafening roar exploded from beneath the earth, the sound waves hitting everyone like a solid hammer, causing their Qi and Blood to surge.

Immediately afterward, the ground beneath them completely shattered, and a massive claw covered in dark brown scales broke through the earth, the edge of the scales glinting with a metallic cold light as it shattered half of the mine tunnel with a single swipe!

Amidst the swirling dust, a colossal creature slowly rose.

This was a Mining Beast nearly a hundred meters long, its body serpentine but covered in layered rocky Armor, its spine bristling with sharp bone spurs, each about a meter in length.

Most suffocating was its head—no distinct facial features, just a blood-red mouth occupying half of its skull, inside which were no teeth but rings of spinning flesh, shimmering with a metallic sheen, like a vortex formed by countless grinders, emitting a darkness that could swallow light.

Upon its appearance, the entire mine seemed to have its light absorbed by that giant mouth, plunging the surroundings into darkness.

The massive mouth slowly opened, twisting the air into a spiral wherever it passed, an irresistible suction force exploding from its maw, pulling stones, rock walls, and even the energy in the air into its mouth!

Everyone was enveloped by this suction force, their bodies involuntarily stumbling forward. Vivian let out a cry, only avoided being sucked in by Allen's tight grip.

Xia Shangji's face turned deathly pale as he exerted all his strength to resist with Dark Energy, only to find his power utterly ineffective against this suction force.

The blood-red mouth acted like a real abyss, incorporating everything within the mine into its hunting range. Whether it was Qin Tian's side, Xia Shangji, or the Shadowmoon Pavilion members, they all became prey awaiting carving before this prehistoric Mining Beast.

"This is a Tier Seven Mining Beast!"

Qin Tian's expression instantly turned as hard as iron, his pupils constricting.

The oppressive aura, unbearably suffocating, was at least ten times stronger than Xia Shangji's dark magic; its mere presence could crush a Tier Five Spiritualist.

His fingertips burst with brilliance, and the Void Gate erupted with a boom, vines like spiritual snakes emerged, quickly coiling around Allen, Luo Xiu, Xiong, and the others.

But just as he was about to step into the Teleportation Gate—

"Crash!"

Several dark chains and shadow tentacles suddenly shot out from the side, tightly binding Qin Tian's limbs.

Xia Shangji and the black-robed man from Shadowmoon Pavilion wore expressions of sheer desperation, clutching the ends of the chains fiercely while screaming furiously, "Take me! You must take me!"

In the face of a desperate situation, they knew full well that only Qin Tian's spatial teleportation could save them from the claws of the Tier Seven Mining Beast.

"Damn it!" Qin Tian muttered under his breath, catching a glimpse of madness in Xia Shangji and the black-robed man's eyes.

He instantly realized that if he let go now, these individuals would use every last ounce of strength to drag him to their death.

"There's no time!"

Qin Tian gritted his teeth, the vines like iron cables across a river, violently swinging out, entangling Xia Shangji and the Shadowmoon Pavilion members together, dragging them forcefully toward the Teleportation Gate.

Joy just began to appear on Xia Shangji's face when a deafening roar echoed again within the mine.

The Tier Seven Mining Beast had been completely enraged!

Boom—!

The entire mine collapsed with a roar, billions of metallic particles peeled, suspended, and screamed from the rock walls, the dark golden particle torrent sweeping toward everyone like a tsunami.

The Void Gate's light curtain twisted violently, its edges beginning to disintegrate, while the vines under Qin Tian's control frantically grew and interwove, forming a thick green wall to protect Allen and the others, yet under the onslaught of the particle torrent, it sizzled, the greenery fading visibly.

Moreover, Xia Shangji and the Shadowmoon Pavilion individuals were, while resisting the particle storm, secretly tightening the chains; shadow tentacles clung to Qin Tian's limbs like maggots on bones, clearly intending to drag him to a shared fate.

"If this goes on, everyone will die!"

Watching the vine wall gradually turn transparent, seeing Allen, Xiong, and the others exposed at the edge of the particle torrent, Qin Tian's eyes flashed with determination.

"Slash!"

With a flip of the wrist, a sharp blast severed the vine connected to his companions.

Striking out with a palm from a distance, he pushed Xiong, Poisonous Widow, and Allen fiercely toward the Void Gate, his voice cracking like thunder:

"You go first!"

Before his words fell, he completely relinquished resisting, letting the all-consuming suction pull him toward the abyss' giant mouth.

Rattle—

The chains instantly snapped taut like steel, as the shadow tentacles stretched dozens of meters, moaning under heavy strain.

Xia Shangji and the Shadowmoon Pavilion members' faces changed drastically, crying out as they were dragged downward, they never expected Qin Tian to make such a choice.

"Qin Tian!"

"Master!"

Xiong roared with bloodshot eyes, clinging desperately to the edge of the Void Gate, while Poisonous Widow's voice trembled, tears falling uncontrollably.

Allen watched the figure rapidly falling toward the giant mouth below, his heart clenched tightly.

He suddenly turned, exerting all his strength, shoving Vivian and Luo Xiu fiercely into the Void Gate, while his whole body erupted in a cyan glow, Dragon Scales covered him again, like a cyan meteor rushing towards the abyss.

The wind whipped at his chestnut hair, and those eyes that usually carried a hint of playfulness now glowed terrifyingly, like two small suns burning brightly, filled with fearless light.

All along, Allen knew he was quite lucky.

Escaping danger several times, always finding a lifeline at crucial moments, as if luck followed him wherever he went.

Vivian would even joke that he was the "illegitimate child of the Goddess of Luck."

But he would never bet his fate on luck—he understood better than anyone that relying on chance would dull one's claws in comfort, becoming a coward waiting for destiny's charity.

Yet this time, he deeply hoped the Goddess of Luck would favor him again, so that he and brother Qin Tian could safely overcome the current crisis.

"Brother Qin Tian, I'm coming!"

Allen's voice tore a hole in the wind as cyan light surged around him, accelerating his descent to the fullest.

The roar of the wind in his ears was thunderous, but his vision held only the figure bound by chains, not even the abyssal giant mouth of the Mining Beast enlarging in view elicited any retreat.

Meanwhile, the Void Gate behind him dramatically contracted, its light curtain fracturing inch by inch, sealing away the despairing darkness completely.
