Starting with a Super Five-Star Hotel

Chapter 499: A Fierce Battle_1

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Streaks of blood-red light continued to condense in the night sky, slashing densely at the white horse.

BOOM!

With Su Xuan's help, the white horse dodged left, right, up, and down. Suddenly, its body shuddered as a streak of light struck one of its wings, which burst into a cloud of blood mist. It began to plummet from the night sky.

Still, it struggled with its single remaining wing, desperately trying to keep its master aloft. It couldn't speak, so it had never told Su Xuan that it was his life-bound mount. Its life belonged to Su Xuan.

As it fell, its descent grew steadier. It glared at the night sky, trying to peer through the few clusters of gray clouds to see who was behind the sneak attack. Then, it turned its head to look at its master, its eyes filled with guilt, as if its poor flying was to blame for the attack that now sent them both falling. Its gaze was also filled with worry.

Su Xuan flipped his hand and stuffed a handful of medicinal pills into the white horse's mouth. He then pointed to the Golden Body Mystic Armor he wore, signaling for the horse not to worry. Afterward, he locked his gaze onto one of the gray clouds. Through his mutated eyes, he saw a huge figure hiding within it. This creature also had two pairs of wings, but what was even more terrifying was the human silhouette standing atop it.

An enemy riding a flying mount.

Suddenly, the enemy burst out from the gray cloud, revealing itself completely.

Su Xuan's pupils contracted. It was a General Shi Jia, clad head-to-toe in armor and wielding a greatsword, all while standing on the back of a massive, blood-red bat.

Setting aside the immense bat, Su Xuan was stunned. Shouldn't General Shi Jia be sealed at the bottom of the Valley of Thousand Snakes in the Yu Xian Sect's territory? How did he appear here? Did the Yu Xian Sect slip up, allowing one to escape and seek revenge on me?

SWISH!

Before Su Xuan had any more time to think, General Shi Jia spurred the blood-red bat into a steep dive. He raised his greatsword high, clearly intending to slay Su Xuan before he could hit the ground.

Su Xuan stretched out his right hand, summoning the Ruyi Staff from his storage sachet. The cultivation power within him surged, instantly elevating him to the Middle Stage of the Longevity Realm.

"Little White, you go down first," Su Xuan whispered to the horse. In a stunning move, he tapped his toes on the horse's back and launched himself into the air, charging directly toward the plummeting General Shi Jia.

General Shi Jia leaped off the bat as well, pressing down on Su Xuan.

The white horse's body dipped before it stabilized, landing on a mountaintop below. It immediately jerked its head up, its eyes fixed on the night sky. The familiar figure of its master had already collided with General Shi Jia.

BOOM!

As their weapons clashed, sparks flew, and a visible shock wave radiated through the night. At the same time, the broken half of a greatsword tumbled from the sky.

The white horse stared up and let out a loud, piercing neigh.

"Are you here for revenge?" Su Xuan asked, having grabbed General Shi Jia's neck with one hand after their mid-air collision to keep from being thrown off.

The general's withered face remained expressionless. He dropped the broken hilt from his hand and swung his fist toward Su Xuan's chest. However, Su Xuan was test-wearing the Golden Body Mystic Armor he'd received as a trial reward and wasn't hurt in the slightest. Instead, a sharp crack echoed from General Shi Jia's arm.

Su Xuan, still holding his staff with one hand, swung it and smashed it against the general's forehead.

CLANG!

General Shi Jia's head snapped back violently, a clear dent now visible in his forehead. Yet, his fists continued to pound relentlessly against Su Xuan's chest. Su Xuan, in turn, kept striking the general's forehead with his staff.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

All the while, their bodies fell at an accelerating speed, finally smashing into the hillside with a deafening crash. The blood-red bat and the white horse both tried to rescue their masters but failed. The bat failed because Su Xuan knocked it away with a single blow. The white horse, flying with only one wing, had its speed severely hampered and couldn't reach them in time. Besides, it quickly realized Su Xuan didn't need saving. When they hit the ground, Su Xuan had landed on top of General Shi Jia, forcing the general to absorb the full impact of the fall.

BOOM! RUMBLE!

Pressing down on General Shi Jia, Su Xuan slid down the hillside, smashing through several boulders and carving a deep trail down the slope. The momentum was immense.

Though the general's forehead was caved in and his face was battered beyond recognition, he never let out a single scream, as if he felt no pain at all. After sliding nearly a hundred meters, they came to a stop halfway down the mountain. Suddenly, General Shi Jia landed a bizarre punch that sent Su Xuan flying into the air.

General Shi Jia abruptly halted his slide, stomped his feet hard into the ground, and launched himself skyward, charging at the airborne Su Xuan.

Su Xuan flipped in mid-air to stabilize himself, his eyes wide with surprise. General Shi Jia's combat strength, originally at the Middle Stage of the Longevity Realm, has suddenly soared to the Late Stage of Longevity! That level has far surpassed my own! I'm still only at the Middle Stage of the Longevity Realm!

BOOM!

Su Xuan and General Shi Jia collided in mid-air once more before their figures rapidly separated. Su Xuan used the force of the impact to land beside the white horse on the mountaintop.

The horse nuzzled him with its head.

"I'm alright," Su Xuan said with a smile.

The white horse exhaled in relief.

Su Xuan glanced down at his Golden Body Mystic Armor. There wasn't a single scratch on it. He was only now realizing what a formidable treasure the Yu Xian Sect had given him. It could withstand a full-powered attack from a Late Stage of Longevity powerhouse, far exceeding his expectations.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

General Shi Jia charged up the slope toward the peak with heavy, pounding strides, continuously hurling massive rocks at Su Xuan as he ran. His strength was so great that the stones whistled through the air, trailing long tails of energy that nearly burst into flames.

SMASH!

Su Xuan swung his Ruyi Staff, shattering a rock that was hurtling toward him. He swung it again, pulverizing a streak of blood-red light that descended from above. It was an attack from the giant bat.

SCREECH!

Seeing this, the white horse let out an enraged cry. With a beat of its single wing, it soared into the sky, fearlessly rushing toward the blood-red bat.

Su Xuan ignored the aerial assault and began charging down the slope toward the strangely empowered General Shi Jia. He continuously swung his staff, shattering the stones hurtling toward him. Each stone, imbued with the power of a Late Stage of Longevity expert, sent a jolt through Su Xuan's body as he smashed it.

General Shi Jia's intention was clear as day! He was trying to wear down my strength with these stones!

Although Su Xuan was running downhill, he struggled to advance. The general, despite running uphill, possessed an astonishing momentum. If anyone else were to witness this scene, they would be terrified. A warrior at the Middle Stage of the Longevity Realm was charging like a moth to a flame toward a powerhouse at the Late Stage of Longevity. Was he courting death?

In just a few breaths, Su Xuan closed the distance with General Shi Jia once more. He gripped his Ruyi Staff with both hands and brought it crashing down on the general's head. The sheer force of his cultivation flattened the surrounding weeds.

CLANG!

General Shi Jia raised his arms, catching Su Xuan's Ruyi Staff with his bare hands.

For the first time, a cold sneer touched the corners of General Shi Jia's lips...
