After leaving the city, the Third Elder drove the carriage northwest.

"Third Elder, tell me the truth," Su Xuan said from inside the carriage. "Do you have some hidden agenda for this trip?"

"No, no," the Third Elder said, gazing at the desolate autumn scenery ahead as if it were a field of flowers in spring. "I just haven't been out in a long time and wanted a change of scenery. And for a man of my stature, an outing requires a sense of ceremony."

"There's no sense of ceremony in you driving for me," Su Xuan retorted.

"Hehe, you'll understand," the Third Elder replied with a sly smile.

He couldn't care less what people in Hua Shui City thought. Even if he walked out in his undergarments, it wouldn't affect his status there, let alone driving a carriage for Su Xuan. But things were different at the Ten Cauldrons Sect. She was there. If she saw a peerless young prodigy arriving with him as the driver, pulling up to the gates of the Ten Cauldrons Sect, she would surely remember this scene forever! So, driving for Su Xuan was a fair trade; he wasn't losing out. After all, they had an agreement. When they neared the Ten Cauldrons Sect, Su Xuan would drive for him. It was a good thing he hadn't looked for a coachman back at the sect. Could there be a better coachman in the world than Su Xuan? As the Third Elder pondered this, the smile on his lips widened. He even felt he had gotten the better end of the deal.

Su Xuan couldn't be bothered with the Third Elder's thoughts and closed his eyes to cultivate inside the carriage.

"Brother Su, you..."
