Rotting Land: Survive

Chapter 204: Fierce Battle with the Corpse Dog Pack (15)

Under the scorching sun, the heat became even more oppressive.

The Corpse Dog still fiercely bared its two rows of sharp teeth, emitting threatening low growls.

But in Dazhuang's eyes, these actions were merely the dying struggles of a doomed creature.

Indeed, to Dazhuang, the Corpse Dog was just a lamb waiting to be slaughtered, and he could end its life whenever he wished.

And very clearly, Dazhuang had no intention of letting this beast continue polluting the air, so...

Slowly standing up, the severe injury on his back caused Dazhuang's lips to twitch uncontrollably.

However, he didn't show too much pain from this and looked toward the Corpse Dog beneath him, which was barking intimidatingly because the Scythe had been withdrawn.

Dazhuang sneered coldly, saying nothing, and then stomped his right foot multiple times on the dog's mouth, stopping only when the latter's skin was split and flesh was blurred.

The noise ceased, and the Corpse Dog lay defeated, panting heavily with its two red eyes, clearly unable to resist anymore.

Bending down to cross the two Scythes above the dog's head, Dazhuang showed no trace of pity; what filled his mind were scenes of that bloody midnight, recalling the tragic deaths of his wife and children.

His eyes gradually turned red as his thoughts spread; the muscular body tightened with a slight tremble, and bulging veins revealed the strength Dazhuang was accumulating.

Finally, at a critical point, Dazhuang erupted.

"Ah!" A mournful and angry roar into the sky, driven by the flames of revenge, caused Dazhuang's powerful arms to exert force as the Double Scythes slowly plunged into the dog's neck.

It was an extremely horrific and bloody scene, leaving Lao Zhao stunned, Lin Junfu dazed, and Wei Yang terrified to close her eyes.

Though they had seen zombies slaughtered before, witnessing Dazhuang's intent to forcibly slice a corpse's head bit by bit was truly their first time.

Lin Junfu wanted to say something because although he could understand Dazhuang's sorrow, his inherent conscience couldn't agree with this near-torturous action.

After all, the Corpse Dog was already unable to resist, and becoming what it was now wasn't its original intention. There was no need to be so ruthless; one swift slash would be enough.

Thinking of this, Lin Junfu was about to speak out but suddenly changed his words to a cry: "Dazhuang! Watch out in front!"

No wonder Lin Junfu showed such urgency; just as Dazhuang was preparing the cuts, another Corpse Dog that was lying in wait under a car suddenly launched its attack.

Because of its companion's obstruction earlier, the remaining Corpse Dog could only scratch and bump around the GL8, trying to use its claws and body to break through the "metal clump" before it. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn't satisfying. Despite putting all its strength into it, it still couldn't cause any damage to the giant in front.

So, when its companion's death wails sounded, it realized its opportunity had come.

The Corpse Dog rushed towards the car roof with remarkable speed, while Dazhuang was entirely immersed in his revenge emotions, unable and unlikely to react to the incoming attack.

Watching the beast get closer and closer to Dazhuang, Lin Junfu raised his right hand, seemingly trying to grasp something, but there was nothing in front of him but air.

It's over! Lin Junfu felt a tinge of despair, and perhaps everyone else present was worried and tense about Dazhuang's life.

But surely, no one was more anxious about Dazhuang's fate than Lin Junfu himself.

For a month, this farmer, more than a brother to him, had lived with him for over a month.

And had it not been for Dazhuang's strong assistance, if it weren't for his daily standing guard at the factory gate under the scorching sun, perhaps this factory wouldn't have...

Lin Junfu's eyes couldn't help but redden, slightly moistening as he shot two burning gazes.

Without a doubt, if earlier Lin Junfu had felt heartache for Dazhuang's torturous killing of a Corpse Dog, now he wished he could personally tear those beasts to shreds, ensuring they die without a trace.

However, there was nothing more to say now; the Corpse Dog was already on the vehicle. Unless a miracle happened, Dazhuang being pounced on and devoured was inevitable.

Yet Lin Junfu never imagined that just as the Corpse Dog leaped onto the roof, a bloody figure suddenly burst from the window above.

"Damn beast! Don't be arrogant! Want to harm Brother Dazhuang! Get past me first!"

When the words dropped, a thick Steel Awl swung down at the incoming Corpse Head, the powerful momentum compressing the air, producing a sharp whistle before accurately striking the Corpse Head.

"Bang!" The Corpse Dog likely couldn't figure out why the car roof, clearly empty with nothing to block it, suddenly produced a red object.

But regardless of its thoughts, being swung into the air was undeniable.

Under the sunlight, Wang Qiang stood upright, and his blood-red clothes appeared exceptionally glaring under the sun's reflection.

No doubt, his shout just now had the aura reminiscent of Lord Zhang defending the Changban bridge against the million-strong Cao army.

"Brother Dazhuang! Rest assured and do your work! As long as I'm here, Wang Qiang will never let these beasts get close to you!"

Such bold words, such commanding presence, Wang Qiang was like a Demon God.

Unfortunately, his spirited words had just settled when a rebuke came from inside the vehicle.

"Alright! Stop with the nonsense! Get up and keep watch; we need to hurry into the factory!"

As Tang Xiaoquan spoke, he shook the brother's legs. It was unmistakable that if Wang Qiang continued "strutting and showing off," he would pull him down without hesitation.

"Alright! Alright! I got it already!" Irritatedly glancing around twice until he couldn't feel any more shaking, Wang Qiang finally propped himself up and climbed out of the car.

Cautiously taking a few steps forward, Wang Qiang was making space for his companions to climb while maintaining a proper distance from the Corpse Dog.

The Corpse Dog seemed to realize the fierceness of the person before it, not hastening to attack, but crouching down, eyes fixated on the dynamics atop the car, carefully searching for the opportunity to deliver a fatal blow.

Yet the beast's hesitation allowed the Survivors time to escape, as Wu Chao and Wenquan Xin successively climbed out from the back seat, and as Acheng climbed out too, the roof had formed a solid human wall.

Humans finally gained a proactive advantage in this frontline battle, so how will the situation develop next?
