Rotting Land: Survive

Chapter 265: Factory Calamity (Part 4)

"Wei Yang! Little Wei! Miss Wei!"

Tang Xiaoquan's hoarse shouts echoed through the room, and with his frantic calls, all of Lin Junfu's doubts were instantly dispelled.

It turned out that the young man's loss of rationality was due to his deep concern for Wei Yang's life.

Having been through similar experiences, Lin Junfu could understand the young man's feelings. After all, the power of love is indeed tremendous.

Although he knew that Tang was still in the infatuation stage, it was enough to drive him mad with love.

"Little Wei! Little Wei! Are you there?" Tang Xiaoquan continued his vain efforts, but after shouting for a long time, he received nothing but some echoes in return.

What should he do? Lin Junfu was worried about Tang Xiaoquan's state, fearing that if something happened to Wei Yang, the latter might be overwhelmed and spiral into despair.

Besides, the eerie atmosphere in the factory was another concern for Lin Junfu, as he inexplicably felt a chill.

"Hey, Tang, what's wrong?"

Dazhuang's inquiry pulled Lin Junfu back to reality. He glanced at Tang Xiaoquan, who stood there as if his soul had been plucked away.

Could it be that his worries had come true so quickly? Shocked, Lin Junfu hurriedly followed Dazhuang's lead to Tang Xiaoquan's side.

Before they could speak, Tang Xiaoquan's raised right hand slowly pointed forward.

An ominous feeling rose within Lin Junfu. He moved his gaze in the direction of Tang Xiaoquan's finger, and suddenly his eyes widened, and like Tang Xiaoquan, he was frozen in place.

Blood, bright red blood, though congealed, stained the ground and sent chills down one's spine.

Following the blood trail upward, they found a headless male corpse lying there, with a few flies buzzing around it, creating a scene too gruesome to behold.

"This is..." Wang Qiang thought of a possibility but quickly fell silent, and with uncertain eyes, he looked at Old Lin beside him.

Old Lin was utterly stunned, his large hands trembling like a sieve. Although Wang Qiang didn't finish his sentence, how could Old Lin not understand his implication?

The plaid shirt and beach shorts, who else could it be but Wang Junfa?

With faltering steps, Old Lin made his way to the corpse.

The head had been severed from the neck. What kind of bloody monster could have done such a sinister thing?

Old Lin waved away the buzzing flies around Wang Junfa and was about to bend down when he heard a creaking sound again.

He quickly followed the sound, soon finding its origin.

It was a head, a lifeless head with sunken eye sockets.

The incessantly gnashing mouth was trying to convey something. Though it couldn't make a sound, its unseeing eyes silently accused its fate.

"Old Wang!" Lin Junfu couldn't contain his grief any longer as a tear trickled down his cheek.

As his savior, as his steadfast companion during the hardest times of the apocalypse, Lin Junfu's feelings for Wang Junfa were beyond what mere words could describe.

Perhaps to outsiders, they didn't share a blood relation;

Perhaps to outsiders, they didn't frequent exchanges as often as imagined.

But to them, their bond was closer than brothers, a hundred times, a thousand times over.

Their friendship was as unyielding as a rock!

In fact, Lin Junfu was a few years older than Wang Junfa, and while the phrase "white-haired sending off black-haired" might not fully apply here, Wang Junfa's death was like losing a brother to Old Lin.

Who did this to you!? Who was so cruel to harm you like this!? Who? Who? Just who?

Lin Junfu mumbled to himself, ultimately turning his words into a cry of anguish.

And while Old Lin wailed for the tragic death of Wang Junfa, venting his grief, injustice, and frustration...

A faint sound once again emerged from the air, no, to be precise, it seemed like someone was... calling for help!!

"Little Tang! Is that you? Help me! Help me!"

"Little Wei! It's Little Wei!" Wang Qiang was the first to react, and as he spoke, the despondent Tang Xiaoquan was instantly revived, his energy returning.

"Yes, yes, it's Little Wei! Little Wei isn't dead! Haha, Little Wei is still alive!"

From hell to heaven, reborn, Tang Xiaoquan suppressed his elation and ran toward the source of the cry for help.

Seeing him, Dazhuang and Wang Qiang dared not delay and hurriedly dragged the mourning Old Lin along, rushing after Tang Xiaoquan.

Evidently, from the direction of the voice, Tang Xiaoquan determined that Wei Yang was currently on the second floor behind the curtain.

From her panicked cries for help, it seemed she was still in danger.

Thinking of the girl's frightened face, Tang Xiaoquan felt a piercing pain, and his steps unconsciously quickened.

"Tang, I'm on the second floor! The second floor!"

Wei Yang's voice became clearer, but Tang Xiaoquan's anxiety grew.

Finally, with a full sprint, he dashed beneath the curtain.

He reached to open the curtain and stepped inside, but as he was about to climb the stairs, familiar thumping sounds reached his ears.

Zombies!! Without a doubt, nothing but zombies could make such a series of thudding, accompanied by eerie growls.

Damn it!! Tang Xiaoquan was never in such a hurry, nor had he ever felt so much desire to kill.

The short blade in his hand creaked under his grip, as he charged forward with lightning speed.

Ten seconds, or even less, in any case, Tang Xiaoquan sprinted up the two floors in just a few seconds.

Such a feat was clearly impossible for him in the past.

But now, for Wei Yang...

It was perhaps what they call "fearless for love."

As he dashed into the corridor, Tang Xiaoquan, short blade in hand, rushed to the rescue.

However, before he could move half a meter, he was suddenly frozen in place.

Tang Xiaoquan stopped moving! The knife in his hand hung limply down.

Simultaneously, the hurriedly chasing trio of Wang, Wei, and Lin also burst out of the stairwell.

Once they reached Tang Xiaoquan's side, they, too, were wide-eyed and motionless...
