Dante, Luna, and Lilith entered Rockhearth Village and quickly found an inn to stay in. When the wolfwoman spotted the place, her face lit up, making him laugh. ''We'll get the biggest room and stay here for a week or so. I want to learn about the place we're in.''
''That would be the Everwest Kingdom,'' the Death Witch revealed. ''It's usually a peaceful realm, but Darkmoore has tried to invade the western part.''
When the duo heard this, their eyes widened as Luna questioned. ''They're attacking this place now?''
''Not any more,'' she answered. ''Winter is coming, everyone is hunkering down.''
Dante's expression changed to excitement as he muttered to himself. ''We'll attack them in their winter camps, that will catch them off guard.''
Luna's ears twitched at his words, and a bright smile crossed her face as she replied. ''Of course we will, it's the best way to deal with those Darkmoore dogs, or they'll have a powerful light mage hidden within their ranks.''
Following this, they entered the inn and were greeted by a cosy-looking space with tables lining one side of the building while a desk and staircase took up the other side. An older human woman sat behind it, waiting for new people to come by. Dante approached her and took out two gold coins. ''Can we get the biggest room you have?'' he asked.
The woman glanced up only to go wide-eyed when spotting him. A professional smile appeared on her face as she began. ''Welcome to the Sleepy Hollow Inn. Yes, that would be possible, how many days do you want it?''
''A week for now,'' he answered. ''If we decide to take it longer than I'll let you know.''
''Okay!'' the receptionist exclaimed. ''That would be one gold.''
Dante handed over the payment and was given a key as the woman continued. ''Thanks for your patronage. Head up the stairs, your room is on the top floor, it's the only one there, so you cannot miss it.''
After settling the payment, the trio ascended the staircase, their footsteps echoing softly. A few minutes later, they reached their room, and as the door swung open, a wave of warm air spilled out, wrapping around them. The sudden heat sent a shiver down his spine, a stark contrast to the chilly evening air they'd just left behind.
Stepping inside, he paused, his eyes widening in pleasant surprise at the sight before him. The room was far more inviting than he'd expected. Tastefully decorated, it exuded a cozy charm that felt both welcoming and luxurious. A massive bed, adorned with plush linens and a thick quilt, dominated the center of the space.
Soft, ambient light from a wrought-iron chandelier cast a warm glow across the room, highlighting the polished wooden furniture and. Two tall, arched windows flanked the far side, their heavy drapes pulled back to reveal a breathtaking view of Rockheart Village below.
Dante approached the window as Lilith slumped onto the bed. ''So comfortable! I'm going to miss my old home, but if we can stay in places like this, I'll be happy to travel around the world,'' she revealed.
''Good because we will,'' Luna added, sitting down in front of the fireplace. ''We have enough gold to afford such a thing.''
Following that, the three of them relaxed while Dante sat in front of the window, studying the surrounding lands. Mountains were to the west, the sea to their east. North is the road to the Everwest capital and the current frontlines. He was interested in going to mess with the Darkmoore side, but would leave the defender alone.
After that, he finished his noodles and drank enough ale until his head spun, but that's when Luna appeared in front of him, her tail swaying side to side. Her big blue eyes glowed thanks to the love, lust, and many other emotions as she spoke. ''Now that you're healed, can we bond?''
Dante's eyebrow rose, then he remembered their conversation from before and grinned at the gorgeous wolf woman. ''If you don't mind Lilith watching your first time,'' he motioned toward the drunk Death Witch. ''I'll rent out another room for you and me in the morning, to make it private. I know bonding is a serious matter to certain races.''
When Luna heard this, her face lit up as she cupped his face and gave him a passionate kiss that sent a shiver down his spine. He felt his heart race when her lips touched his, giving him hope that he wasn't lost. The two continued kissing until Lilith's drunk voice brought them back to reality.
''You both can have sex in here if you like,'' she slurred, red eyes glowing with something neither understood. ''I wouldn't mind watching.''
Dante felt his face going red as Luna's tail stiffened before turning to the cheeky blonde and growling. ''You will not be watching us yet, especially our first time, that's special to my race.''
The Death Witch held up her hands, smile growing wider. ''At least you didn't ban me from the other times.''
''Are you kinky, Lily?'' Dante asked. ''I mean, I don't mind you watching, I've never thought about it, it's my first time in all three lives.''
This shocked the two women. Lilith's face went as red as her eyes, making him laugh as she sputtered. ''No, I just want to watch! I've never seen sex, so I was curious.''
Before the blonde could continue, Luna exclaimed. ''You've never made love?!''
''No,'' Dante shook his head. ''Never got the chance to, was too young on Earth, was killed the second time, and now I still haven't''
When Lilith heard this, she looked at the wolf woman and teased. ''Lucky you. The first time will be special, being each other's first is a good thing. Makes the bond even stronger and won't ever be broken.''
Luna's face lit up with happiness. She leaned in and whispered. ''You better keep your word, I can't wait to bond.''
Dante chuckled at this but nodded in agreement. ''I will, don't worry.''
Following that, the three relaxed. After some time, a knock rang out, causing the trio's heads to snap in the sound's direction. Lilith got up, approached it, and opened it only to see the receptionist holding a tray; the older woman smiled. ''This is a gift from the staff, we're giving hot chocolate to every guest to keep them warm.''
Without waiting, Dante used Death Eyes on the beverages only to see nothing wrong with them and accepted the gesture. ''We'll take them, thank you.''
The worker beamed and placed the tray on the nearby table while the other two watched her. Once she was gone, Luna asked. ''Why did you accept? What if their poisoned?''
''They're not,'' he reassured. ''I used my skill and nothing come up.''
When Lilith heard this, her red eyes shone before taking a cup. The Death Witch took a sip and shivered just as a big smile stretched across her face. ''Delicious! I heard Rockhearth's hot drinks are the best.''
Luna couldn't contain herself any longer, she reached for one of the cups. The warm aroma of cocoa and a hint of vanilla wafted up, teasing her senses. Without hesitation, she brought it to her lips and took a tentative sip. The moment the creamy liquid touched her tongue, her eyes widened in sheer delight.
The smooth warmth enveloped her, and she couldn't help herself, she began to drink faster, savoring every gulp. Her reaction drew made the others laugh, Dante, lounging in his chair, watching the scene with a faint smirk. Moments later, he finally reached for the remaining cup.
He lifted it to his lips, the rich scent of dark chocolate promised something delicious. The first sip hit him like a wave, the taste unfolding across his tongue. A shiver ran down his spine as he enjoyed it as he shook his head as Luna demanded. ''Can we get more?!''
Dante took out more gold coins and handed them to the wolf woman. ''Here you go,'' he said. ''Buy as much as you can.''
When Luna saw this, she kissed him on the cheek before dashing out of the room, making Lilith giggle even more. ''She gets very happy sometimes, it's nice to see,'' she commented.
''It is,'' he replied. ''Makes a change from all the carnage on Nemorath.''
Following that, the two sat in a peaceful silence until the wolf woman returned holding a tray with a dozen cups on it, as she revealed. ''Maria said we can get them all night if we like.''
Lilith got up, taking one of the cups as Luna gave him one, a big smile crossing her face as she spoke. ''Here you go, Dante. I hope you like it.''
''Thank you, Luna,'' he said.
Dante started drinking, watching the storm outside as it got even worse. The wind blew over Rockheart, but it was useless as the village was protected by a mountain to one side and the big walls the kingdom had built around it.
