Vale could only sigh inwardly.
There was no way he could control the fate of this realm.
If something monumental was destined to happen… something that would shake the entire continent, then even an Immortal like him could not stop it. The most he could do was adapt, prepare, and ensure that those under his care were ready for the changes to come.
For now, he accepted the dragons' decision.
Veyrith and the others would lead the Alchemy Faculty, though Vale made it clear that the basic classes of Alchemy Arts must still be handled by Arcanists of the Alchemy Path. The dragons, with their ancient knowledge and mastery of specialized Alchemy Techniques, would only take charge of advanced or particular paths. It was a compromise, but one that would strengthen the Academy's prestige.

In the meantime, while Vale was busy finalizing the last matters that demanded his attention in the Arcane Academy, new arrivals were making their way into Clovis City.
Cassian and Selene, the two Mystic Arts Practitioners recommended by the Church of the Divine Sorcerer, had finally arrived aboard an exclusive airship of the church.
The vessel descended gracefully onto the city's docking platform… Soon, several attendants rushed to greet the passengers.
The two Practitioners stepped out. Their clothes were still marked with the Church's emblems, showing their affiliation.
Just like how they were trained to do, Cassian carried himself with dignity, while Selene's presence was softer, and she seemed even cheerful with the way she smiled.
Though classes were still two weeks away, the Academy had arranged for them to settle in early.
Their attendants, who were officials from the Church and local guides from Clovis, escorted them through the bustling streets toward the gates of the Marshall Academy.
"This place feels incredible." Cassian muttered to himself.
"It's probably the Divinity we were told about." Selene nodded as she also felt that the air here alone felt like helping her cultivate her Arcane Energy.
It was an incredible sensation.
Furthermore, the Academy's grandeur was undeniable. They could feel the Formation Arrays protecting the walls of the Academy Grounds, including the cleanliness and even the discipline of others could be seen.
Young Arcanists like them also moved about the courtyards, some pausing to glance curiously at the newcomers, but after confirming that they did not know them, they'd just continue moving.
Cassian and Selene were soon guided directly to the Administration Office.
It was a large hall with records of students and academy matters overseen by several clerks in uniform.
Apparently, the attendants had already explained to them what they had to do…
They would first receive their Academy identification cards, inscribed with special runes to confirm their status as official students.
Next, they would be issued their uniforms, tailored to their measurements and marked with the insignia of the Marshall Academy.
Their class schedules would be provided, detailing both the general curriculum and the specialized Arcane Arts courses they had been recommended for.
Finally, they would be given permission to explore the Academy grounds, familiarize themselves with the training halls, libraries, and dormitories before the semester began.
Inside the office, a clerk greeted them warmly. "Welcome to the Marshall Academy. Please step forward one at a time. We will prepare your documents and items."
Cassian nodded, stepping forward first.
His attendant handed over the sealed recommendation letter from the Church, which the clerk carefully examined before inscribing his name into the Academy's registry.
A faint glow of runes confirmed the entry.
Moments later, Cassian was handed his identification card and a neatly folded uniform.
Selene followed, her attendant also presented her own letter. The clerk repeated the process, and soon she too held her card and uniform.
The two Practitioners exchanged a glance, a silent acknowledgment that their journey in the Academy had truly begun.
As they left the office, their attendants reminded them…
"You have two weeks before classes begin. Use this time wisely. Explore the Academy, learn its halls, and prepare yourselves. The Marshall Academy is not just a place of study, it is a place where fate itself is shaped. We will be staying in the residence prepared by the Church."
"Got it! Thank you for helping us, Mister." Cassian said as he thanked the attendant arranged by the church.
Cassian and Selene then checked the neatly folded parchment sealed with the insignia of the Marshall Academy. It contained their Mystic Arts Curriculum for first-year students like them.
They sat together on a bench in the courtyard, unrolling the parchment carefully.
Inside was the list of subjects they would be taking, with a short description beneath.
[ First‑Year Mystic Arts Curriculum ]
[ 1. Elementary Spirit Law
Introduction to the laws governing spirit energy, its flow, and its interaction with the mortal body. ]
[ 2. Fundamentals of Magic Zone
Study of the natural zones where magic concentrates, including their formation, boundaries, and hazards. ]
[ 3. Magic Language
Learning the runic and symbolic languages that allow Mystic Arts to be inscribed, recorded, and communicated. ]
The first three classes were understandable.
"At least it's something we already studied in the Church. It should be easy to adapt." Selene muttered.
"I wonder if they have a better method to increase our Magic Zone." Cassian commented.
"They should… If not, this Academy would just be the same as others."
The two then chuckled as they continued to check the other subjects.
[ 4. Mystic Pathways
Exploration of the diverse branches of Mystic Arts, from healing and divination to mystical entity manipulation. ]
[ 5. Arcane History
Survey of the rise and fall of ancient factions, Arcane wars, and the evolution of Arcane Arts focusing on Mystic Arts. ]
"History is always political. We'll need to be careful not to let bias cloud the lessons." Cassian muttered.
Selene smirked as she recalled the tutors in the church.
"You mean you'll argue with the professor if they say something against the Church…"
Cassian coughed and decided not to comment about it. Instead, he turned his attention to the last three subjects…
They were Rudimentary Usage of Mystical Artifacts, Practical Spell Application, and Mystic Harmonization…
'I wonder what kind of Professors we'll have here… They should be better than the tutors in the Church…'
