The shadows that had swallowed Rhaziel were not the work of the Dark Arts at all.
In truth, it was Vale who had struck with a different set of spells. This time, however, none could recognize him.
His appearance was entirely different.
He no longer wore the dark robes of a Shadow Immortal. Instead, his attire resembled that of a solemn priest. He had a pristine white vestment trimmed with gold, a mantle embroidered with a mysterious emblem of a goat, and a hood that concealed most of his features.
His aura was serene, almost divine, masking the Shadow Divinity that he had…
After all, even if he was only an Avatar, he was still capable of using all the Spells that he had from different Arcane Paths.
Indeed, just now, Rhaziel had not been consumed by darkness. His body remained intact, standing frozen in the garden of Belial City. What had been destroyed was his mind!
Vale's Psychic Arts had pierced through the Chaos Immortal's defenses, destroying his thoughts and corrupting his consciousness until nothing coherent remained.
Among the spells Vale wielded in this path were Spells he had extracted from powerful Immortals.
One of them was Mindpierce Invocation. It was a spell that bypassed physical defenses and struck directly at the soul's awareness, leaving the victim disoriented.
There was also the Delirium Echo, which was a psychic wave that multiplied intrusive thoughts, overwhelming the target with illusions and false realities.
Mind Collapse Spells, on the other hand, was a subtle binding that severed rationality, leaving only fragments of instinct. Of course, Vale was very careful using this spell for a long time since this spell could not be reversed.
If he turned someone to be an idiot, there wouldn't be anything he could do to help him get his mind back.
Then, Vale also had Cerebral Eclipse. It was the last spell he had used on Rhaziel, breaking up his mental domain into silence, erasing his will without touching his flesh.
"That's a lot cleaner than I thought…" Vale mused.
These Spells were really stronger. Unfortunately, they were only a single target Spells!
If he could actually cast the Spells to multiple targets at once, this would be a terrifying ability.
The Chaos Immortal's body stood like a statue, with his eyes vacant. His Divinity was actually extinguished from within. To the outside world, it appeared as though he had been struck by an Immortal of a different path, like a Holy Arts, Mystic Arts, or Psychic Arts… There were definitely no traces of Dark Arts…
Vale's disguise was complete.
After all, he had also activated his Emperor's Domain Spell prior to his attack just now...
This was no ordinary technique. It was a Fusion Spell, born from the extraction of the Sin of Pride's essence, combining four distinct powers into one overwhelming aura…
The four spells were Vanitas Veil, which could cloak his true nature… Conceit Chains that give invisible bindings that could suppress the arrogance of those who opposed him, forcing submission.
Then, there was the Dignity Decree. It was a command spell, compelling respect and obedience from all who sensed it. Finally, there was the Supremacy Surge. It creates a tide of authority that elevated his presence to that of an emperor, which weakens the minds of those nearby… It was one of the most powerful Psychic Arts that Vale had obtained, and with all four of them together, they created Emperor's Domain…
At this point, Vale did not look like a Shadow Immortal. He looked like a sovereign priest, a ruler cloaked in divinity…
It didn't take that long before someone discovered the Chaos Immortal's body…
It happened on the morning of the next day when several people wanted to provide their daily tribute to the Chaos Immortal.
"Who… who did this?" one muttered in fear…
"Oh no… An Immortal died here? Are we going to get punished?"
"I didn't notice any fight at all. Maybe he died from a disease?"
"Idiot… That's an immortal. He wouldn't die from a disease. Someone assassinated him."
"Report this to the Chaos Crusaders."
***
Vale was, of course, secretly watching all of this… After confirming that everything wen't well, he turned away… He left no trace of Dark Arts or hint of his true identity.
To the world, it would seemed as if Rhaziel had actually been eliminated by a mysterious Immortal of the Psychic or Divine Path.
And that was exactly what Vale intended.
On the next night, the news of Rhaziel's death had still not been spread to the western lands. Although the death of a single Immortal was definitely a huge news, the Chaos Immortals themselves were selfish individuals. They didn't even want to be bothered unless it was something that directly affected them.
After all, for such matters, there were Kent, Gyn, Thassa, Neylan, and many others who should be dealing with it. Unless they were called out by these leading figures, they wouldn't come out of their safe zone.
Thanks to that reaction, Vale felt more convinced to continue.
Once again, Vale moved silently through the night, keeping his priestly disguise intact.
He even felt really well, acting like this…
His aura was serene, completely masking the darkness within.
Then, this time, his destination was Drelmar City, another stronghold of the Chaos Immortals.
Two of their lieutenants were here. They were Immortals named Kharon and Velthar and they had been stationed there to oversee resource extraction.
Both were arrogant, believing themselves untouchable within their fortified domain.
"Another perfect target… They're not baits as well… This will be easy…" Vale mused to himself as he arrived at the central plaza just as the two were inspecting shipments of spirit stones.
He did not announce himself and immediately made his move. Vale had simply activated his Emperor's Domain Spell, cloaking his true nature, and stepped forward like a priest ready to exorcise the two!
Kharon frowned, sensing the man's presence.
"Who dares approach us without bowing?"
