Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1175: Summoning

Vale was already aware of the Spirit Realm's situation after Lotus and Yvaine explained it before. It had become unstable since the Abyss Realm had also been trying to conquer it for many decades.

Although they hadn't completely succeeded, the Abyss Realm's demons had obviously claimed a huge part of the Spirit Realm for themselves.

"Vale… They almost captured the Spirit Queen. We can't let that happen." Lotus said. She had swiftly left Armin's side and gone to Vale's Avatar to relay the information as soon as a messenger from the Spirit Realm came to her.

Initially, she wanted to visit Vale's real body, but he had hidden himself inside his Immortal Tower and seemed to be very busy doing an important matter.

She couldn't just bother him.

"The Spirit Queen? Tell me more about it…" Vale asked.

Lotus's expression darkened as she explained.

"The Spirit Queen's castle was suddenly attacked. Demon Saints and Demon Lords descended upon it in force. The Dark Spirit Guards, the Spirit Warriors, and many Spirit Guardians fought desperately to protect her. Even the Queen herself joined the battle… They all stood against several Demon Lords at once. She managed to eliminate a few of them, but she was gravely injured in the process… and she was almost captured."

Vale finally realized how dangerous it was. He could still remember how strong a Demon Lord was after meeting one of them in the Shadow Realm.

Only an Arcane Immortal was capable of matching against one of them… If several of them appeared at once, it wouldn't be surprising that the Spirit Queen was heavily injured.

"Almost captured…?"

Lotus nodded grimly. "Yes. If not for the sacrifice of her guardians, she would have been taken. Now, she must recuperate and hide. The Spirit Realm is no longer safe. The demons have claimed too much of it already. They are searching for a sanctuary… and this human realm has been chosen."

Vale frowned. "This realm? Why here?"

Lotus's voice softened. "Because of the strange protection that lingers here… The Spirit Queen said that it had the blessing of the Timeless King. The Abyss Realm cannot easily pierce it. That is why the Queen's envoys believe this place may serve as her refuge."

Vale was silent for a long moment, shocked by the revelation… He didn't expect that the seal that was placed by the Timeless King would be seen as a protection by the Spirit Queen.

It was such a fascinating change of perspective. Still, he couldn't just let this happen.

The Spirit Queen herself, seeking shelter in the human realm… it was unprecedented… and also dangerous.

Finally, he exhaled. "If the Abyss Realm learns she is here, they will invade. The human realm will be torn apart. We cannot allow that to happen, Lotus."

Lotus nodded firmly.

She also knew this since the Abyss Realm had already tried attacking this Realm before. It caused a lot of deaths and wasn't something she wanted to repeat.

"I know. The transfer must be done in absolute secrecy. No one outside the trusted circle can know. Not even the Chaos Immortals must suspect."

Vale's mind raced as he considered his options.

He weighed the risks, the possibilities, and the consequences.

Then, he made a decision…

"Fine… Let's do this in Constance's Immortal Tower," he said. "It is strong enough, and it's within the Shadow Domain. If we created a portal to move the Queen there, it should be just fine. No other people could sense her arrival… However, the Abyss Realm might still detect her presence if they opened a portal on their side... The Tower here can only conceal her arrival."

Lotus's eyes gleamed with relief. "Yes… that would work. The Spirit Queen would definitely be secretive on their side as well…"

Lotus knew that Constance's Tower was one of the few places strong enough to shield her, so she immediately agreed.

"Then it's decided. The matter of the Chaos Immortals ends here… This takes priority."

Vale stood straight as he soon dissolved into shadow.

"Thank you, Vale."

Without another word, Lotus fused into his shadow, her presence merging seamlessly with his aura. Together, they slipped into the darkness, leaving the city behind.

The hunt for Chaos Immortals was set aside. Vale's path now led back to the Shadow Domain, to visit Constance and prepare her Immortal Tower. Perhaps the only hope for the Spirit Queen's survival was this realm, and Vale knew that he might benefit from this.

After all, ever since he had spoken to a Messenger from the Spirit Realm, he learned that he was actually compatible with Spirits…

Indeed, he knew that he would always have a great relationship with the Dark Spirits or any Spirits he summoned from the Spirit Realm.

Perhaps, he could also befriend the Queen and benefit from their possible partnership. After all, with the Academy about to start, he might need more Spirits…

'If the Spirits of the Spirit Realm had nowhere else to go… Maybe they can be contracted Spirits of the Academy…' Vale thought, but he swiftly shook his head.

That sounded a bit too greedy…

He must observe for now and wait until the Spirit Queen really arrives.

In the meantime, within the depths of the Spirit Realm, the Spirit Queen rested within a hidden sanctuary…

At this point, her aura had already dimmed, but still appeared majestic despite her injuries. The wounds from her battle against the Demon Lords had not yet healed, and though her guardians had sacrificed themselves to protect her, the weight of their loss pressed heavily upon her…

Those Spirit Guardians could no longer be resurrected after all. They had been killed by the Demon Lords who targeted their complete essence.

When Lotus's message arrived, the Queen's eyes brightened faintly.

"So… there is hope in the human realm?" she muttered.

Lotus's messenger, a faint wisp of spirit, swayed slightly…

"Yes, Your Majesty. Immortal Vale, her contractor, has agreed to prepare a place for you. His Arcane Circle is strong enough to summon you directly into the human realm. You will not need to risk traveling through a dimensional path."

The Queen couldn't help but frown after hearing this... "A summoning… instead of opening a path?"
