Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1192: Avatar

Chad immediately knew what he had to do.

He had to act fast! In just af few moments, his dragon blood surged with his aura expanding to cover the Academy. He had no choice… he had to resolve this himself.

The possessed students began to gather, their bodies moving unnaturally, with their voices becoming deeper as if they came from the deepest of hell.

"Marshall Academy… belongs to us…" They all said in unison.

Their black eyes glowed as they advanced, and soon, their corrupted spells formed in their hands. Fireballs twisted into black flames, ice shards dripped with shadow, and psychic waves carried suggestions of madness.

Professors tried to hold them back. Grandmaster Arcanist and Professor Kayla raised her staff, summoning a barrier to protect the younger students. "Stay behind me!" she shouted.

But the possessed were relentless.

Chad roared with his dragon aura blasting outward.

The spirits shrieked as his presence burned them, forcing some to retreat. He leapt into the fray as he formed a wing using his Draconic Energy…

"Get out of my Academy!"

He struck a possessed Third‑Class Arcanist, his energy claw then pierced the spirit within.

The student collapsed, freed but unconscious…

He was actually using his Draconic Sight and True Strike with his Divinity to ensure that he wouldn't harm the students and only hit the Evil Spirits within their bodies.

Another spirit charged at him and it was trying to curse him.

Chad's scales hardened, deflecting the attack.

Well, his dragon scales weren't just effective against physical attacks after all.

He then countered with a burst of draconic flame, incinerating the spirit without harming the host.

'It worked…' Chad thought as he actually felt a little worried that the flame would also affect the student… This was definitely a good start for him.

But there were too many enemies right now…

In the lecture halls, chaos spread. Students fought each other, possessed ones were casting spells wildly. Books burned, walls cracked, and the Academy's internal barriers were strained under the assault.

Professor Kayla shouted to the other Grandmasters. "We must hold them until Chad can purge the spirits!"

Unfortunately, the Grandmaster-Class Arcanists didn't have the best method to eliminate the Evil Spirits within the bodies of the Students.

Yes, they could restrain them and defeat the students but it wasn't as safe as Chad's methods.

They didn't even like how the students looked like they were in extreme pain after dealing with them.

Because of that, they knew that they had to restrain themselves as they stopped themselves from harming their own students.

Professor Dalton Stranway nodded grimly. "But if the possession spreads further, we'll lose the Academy!"

Chad knew they were right. He had to act fast.

He raised his talisman again, sending another urgent call.

"Vale… if you can hear me, the Academy is under siege. Evil Spirits are here. I'll hold them, but I don't know how long! Send someone to help me here…"

No answer came. Vale's Avatar was too far, too deep in his mission… As for the real Vale, he had no way of contacting him inside his Immortal Tower. After all, he seemed to be in a dangerous meditation and he wouldn't dare to disturb him either…

Chad gritted his teeth. "Then it's up to me."

The Half‑Dragon Immortal unleashed his full aura.

His body grew larger, scales covering his arms and neck, his eyes glowing with draconic light.

"Spirits! You dare invade this place?!"

The Evil Spirits shrieked and their voices echoed across the Academy. Some tried to flee, but others just became even more enraged, forcing more students into possession.

Chad charged into the largest group, with his claws made of his Draconic Energy, tearing through the spirits...

Each strike released purifying flame, burning the spirits out of their hosts.

Just like that, students collapsed one by one as they were freed but weakened by the possession…

Well, only the Dark Arts Students were able to resist it properly because many of them had experienced Darkness Possession.

"Stay strong!" Chad roared to the professors. "Protect the unpossessed! I'll handle the rest!"

The battle raged for hours.

Chad fought tirelessly with his dragon blood fueling him.

He burned, clawed, and roared, purging spirit after spirit.

Professors held the lines, shielding the youngest students. The Academy grounds trembled with the clash of Immortal power and corrupted souls.

In the meantime, while the professors and Chad were locked in battle against the tide of Evil Spirits, three of Vale's Avatars had already begun their silent work…

They had just come out of the Immortal Tower and were instructed by Vale to protect the Academy.

After all, despite being in deep meditation to recover his injured soul, he was still aware of the situation outside.

It just took him some time to respond because he was in the middle of splitting his soul for another Avatar… That was definitely a crucial moment for him, and he could not be disturbed.

At this time, the First Avatar was searching for something…

The Avatar moved through the city streets, with his shadow-like form slipping past the chaos. His eyes glowed faintly as he followed the trail of corrupted energy.

Finally, he stopped before an old warehouse.

The aura here was suffocating to normal people… Inside, it felt like there was a toxic miasma spreading out… and at the center of the room was a huge crack in space.

"It's here…" He muttered.

Dark mist poured out of it, and with every pulse, more Evil Spirits tried to escape.

The Avatar smiled as he confirmed the place. "So this is the source… A spatial crack. Someone opened this deliberately."

He stepped closer, his hand brushing against the unstable edges of the rift. The energy burned against his palm.

"This isn't random. The defenses of the Academy should have blocked this. Which means…" He paused, his voice low. "It's an inside job. Someone tampered with the barrier, someone who knows the Shadow Domain well. Interesting…"

The Avatar raised his hand, using his Divinity to slow the flow. He wasn't a master of spatial spells, nor Arcane magic related to this, but he could at least suppress the crack.

"Closing this will take time… but I can stop more spirits from pouring out."

Unfortunately, Cyper and the other Time Manipulators and other Immortals on his side were busy doing a secret mission for him… It was an important mission, and they could not be disturbed right now…

So he had to do this himself.

He pressed his palm against the rift, and soon, his Divinity burst in power. The crack resisted, shrieking as if alive, but the flow of spirits slowed down to a halt…

"Good. That should hold them back. Whoever did this… I'll find you."

Then, far from the Academy, the second Avatar raced through the streets, his form flickering in and out of shadows.

Ahead of him, a cloaked figure sprinted desperately, trying to escape the Shadow Domain.

The Avatar's eyes glowed. A faint mark shimmered on the fugitive's back… It was the Divine Sense's mark.

"You can run, but you're already mine," the Avatar muttered.

The figure glanced back, panic in his eyes. He summoned barriers, illusions, and bursts of speed, but the Avatar cut through them with ease.

"Who sent you?" the Avatar demanded…

He didn't dare guess but he had a few people in mind…

But as expected, the culprit didn't answer, only pushed harder with his body glowing with forbidden runes.

'Runes, huh… Are you trying to mess with me?' Vale thought as the Rune activation seemed too forced. It was definitely trying to mislead him into thinking that the enemy was a Runemaster!

Nonetheless, the Avatar wasn't worried…

'You're marked. Even if you escape the Domain, we will know where you go. Your soul is branded.'

He raised his hand, sending a wave of shadow to slow the fugitive. The figure had stumbled, barely regaining balance.

However, it suddenly produced a crystal filled with violent energy, so Vale had to slow down…

'Is that a Divine Crystal converted into a bomb or something?' Vale mused as he realized that it could be very dangerous, not just for the surroundings but for him.

Then, while the second Avatar was considering how to deal with the possible culprit of this all, within the Academy itself, the third Avatar appeared…

At this time, he already saw Chad fighting in the courtyard, his dragon aura was powerful, but even Chad couldn't cover every corner.

Students in the eastern wing were screaming, possessed by stronger spirits that tore through barriers.

The Avatar raised his hand. "Purification."

A wave of light burst from his palm, washing over the possessed students. The spirits shrieked as they realized that they would be incinerated!

As expected, the Spirits then tried to leave the students' bodies to escape the purification… Some even tried to fight back and protect themselves with their hosts' spells. However, they were still defeated…

It was a slow process, but Vale defeated them.

"Tsk…"

Vale still felt disappointed with how slow it was…

"I have no other choice… This needs to stop…" Vale's Avatar thought as he decided to use half of the Divinity within his body to cast a large-scale Celestial Art!
