I Have a Wealth Gathering Array

Chapter 34: Cousin Qin Xiaotao

Qin Yun's eldest uncle is named Qin Guoliang. In his early years, he served in the military.

Shortly after returning from the military, he got married. At that time, they lived in mud-brick houses. Qin Guoliang, Qin Guodong, and Qin Guobin's families all lived together, with just a few meters separating the houses.

Later, the mud houses were replaced by brick houses, and eventually, they moved to the new rural community.

The three families don't live together anymore, but they are all within this new rural community.

Qin Yun's family is in the front row, close to the roadside, with three floors, while his uncle's family is in the last row with two floors, and the house is connected to a courtyard about ten square meters in size.

Coming here, a middle-aged woman with a sallow complexion was sitting on a small stool in the courtyard, peeling lettuce. Sensing someone approaching, she looked up.

Seeing it was Qin Guodong and Qin Yun, the middle-aged woman quickly stood up and shouted towards the house, "Guoliang, your second uncle is here, come out quickly."

After speaking, she washed her hands under the faucet, looked at Qin Yun, and smiled, "Yun, you're here too. The college entrance exam is over now, right? How did you do?"

Her face was full of smiles, but her complexion looked wrinkled, and her hair was graying, making her look like she was sixty years old.

This was Qin Guoliang's wife, Zhang Pandi.

"Aunt." Qin Yun smiled and called out to the middle-aged woman.

Inside the house, a figure quickly came into view. The figure appeared very tall and burly, but with a clearly hunched back, which seemed permanently fixed.

"Second brother, you haven't been back for over a month, have you?" Qin Guoliang looked at Qin Guodong.

After speaking, he glanced at Qin Yun, his calloused hand patting his shoulder, "Yun, how was the college entrance exam? You're the most promising one in the Qin Family. Do you have the confidence to get into a first-tier university?"

To be honest, Qin Yun had excellent grades in elementary school, often ranking first. In middle school, he dropped a bit but remained in the top thirty of his school.

In high school, his ranking fell again, roughly maintaining around the top three hundred in the school.

With such grades, it depended on his college entrance exam performance. If it was average, he'd get into a second-tier university; if he performed well, he might get into a first-tier one.

"I should be able to get into a first-tier university." Qin Yun smiled.

After the exam, Zhou Yang somehow found some test papers and eagerly estimated scores with him.

To Qin Yun's surprise, his correctness in some previously uncertain multiple-choice questions was quite high, especially in English, which should be no less than his usual test scores.

The key was this English exam was more challenging than the previous ones, but he could maintain his usual scores, which undoubtedly gave him a significant advantage.

So, he was confident he could get into a first-tier university.

"That's good. We must celebrate properly once you get in." Qin Guoliang said with a smile.

He led Qin Guodong and Qin Yun inside as he shouted, "Xiaotao, come down, your second uncle and Yun are here."

A muffled voice seemed to respond from the second floor, followed by the sound of someone coming downstairs. A young man soon appeared.

The young man didn't look in good spirits. He was very thin, with long hair that seemed rarely washed.

"Second uncle."

Seeing Qin Guodong, the young man quickly called out.

Seeing the young man, Qin Guoliang couldn't help but scold, "It's almost nine o'clock, and you're still not up? Go pour two cups of tea for your second uncle and Yun."

Upon hearing Qin Guoliang's scolding, the young man didn't say a word and immediately went to pour the tea.

Watching the young man, Qin Guodong couldn't help but ask, "Big brother, how is Xiaotao's work going now?"

"Sigh."

Hearing this question, Qin Guoliang sighed, sitting on the stool, lighting a cigarette.

He shook his head, saying after a while, "The same as before, just over 3000 yuan salary. Now when we introduce him to some girls for blind dates, as soon as they hear about his salary, they basically don't contact him after the first meeting."

Qin Yun's cousin, Qin Xiaotao, is the eldest of the second generation of the three Qin brothers, and he's already thirty.

Qin Xiaotao's grades were average. He didn't do well in the college entrance exam, reaching the score for third-tier universities, but the tuition was too expensive, so he went straight to a vocational school, and by the time he graduated, he was twenty-four.

In these six years, he kept changing jobs without much progress, and now his salary is still 3500 yuan.

The main issue is Qin Xiaotao's very introverted nature; he's the type who barely speaks a word in half a day. Unknowingly, he's already thirty.

Now, he's working at an air conditioning factory in Qingwu County, riding his electric bike to and from work every day. Today happens to be a day off.

As he's gotten older, his personality has become more reserved, and he unconsciously bows his head wherever he goes.

This really worries Qin Guoliang and Zhang Pandi. They've also bought him a house in Qingwu County, albeit in a very remote area, where apart from the residential district, it's practically desolate around.

The down payment was over a hundred thousand, and now Xiaotao pays over two thousand in monthly mortgage.

Like Qin Guodong, Qin Guoliang also works on construction sites, but currently, there's no work.

As for Zhang Pandi, she doesn't have much education and takes care of the family's three acres of land.

"Never mind, let's not talk about it. If he doesn't strive for himself, and ends up single all his life, he can't blame us." Qin Guoliang shook his head.

Right then, Qin Xiaotao came over with the tea, hearing Qin Guoliang's words as if he hadn't heard them, remaining silent.

Qin Guodong and Qin Yun exchanged a glance and said nothing.

"By the way, second brother, how's your work at the construction site going?" Qin Guoliang asked.

Qin Guodong replied, "I'm not working at the construction site anymore. I'm busy with the clothing store now."

Qin Guoliang nodded, "I heard the third brother say your family opened a clothing store in Qingwu County, and business is doing well. The third brother's wife also works at your clothing store."

"It's alright." Qin Guodong smiled, "Sister-in-law, if you have time, you can visit the shop, learn a bit, and then work there."

"Oh no, I'm not up for it." Hearing this, Zhang Pandi quickly shook her head.

She has barely ever worked for others, having dealt with farming all her life. Asking her to sell clothes, she wouldn't know what to say.

Seeing that Zhang Pandi wasn't interested for now, Qin Guodong said no more.

He took a sip of tea, stood up, "Big brother, I came this time to repay the twenty thousand."

He took the money from the bag and handed it over.

"There's no rush…" Seeing this, Qin Guoliang quickly said.

"Big brother, there's no need to be formal between us." Qin Guodong smiled, placing the money down earnestly.

After a bit of back and forth, Qin Guoliang finally accepted it.

"Second brother, since you're back, let's have lunch together." He looked at Qin Guodong.

"Alright then, I'll bring some wine over at lunchtime." After some thought, Qin Guodong nodded.
