I Have a Wealth Gathering Array

Chapter 41: Filling Out College Applications

Sun Jianqiang panicked. Back in high school, he had long wished for it to end quickly so he could go to college and be free from anyone's control.

But now Sun Yadong actually wants him to retake a grade!

Remembering those constant practice exams in his senior year, he felt as if a giant mountain was pressing down on him.

"Hmph! I'll contact your class teacher shortly and have you repeat a year!"

Sun Yadong said in a deep voice, venting the frustrations of the day — dealing with the clothes in the store and his disappointment in Sun Jianqiang's grades, which burst out after knowing Qin Yun scored so high.

...

Time passed quickly, and a few days later, Qin Yun arrived at school.

College entrance exam scores were out, and now they had to start filling out their university applications.

"Qin Yun is here!"

Arriving here, most of the classmates were already there. They looked at Qin Yun with amazement in their eyes.

"This time, some of our classmates who usually do well didn't perform well, while some who usually don't do well did very well. Qin Yun is the best among those who generally have average scores!"

"He used to be at least around the twentieth place in class, but now he's risen to the fourth place!"

"Even in the whole grade, Qin Yun ranked forty-ninth."

The classmates discussed among themselves, having learned of each other's scores, feeling astonished.

It's not uncommon for someone to perform unexpectedly well in the college entrance exam, but Qin Yun's level used to be not even guaranteed to get into a good university, yet he exceeded the good university cutoff by such a margin this time.

"Wow! Wow! Wow! Qin Yun, how did you do it? How did you score so high?" Zhou Yang ran over to Qin Yun as soon as he saw him, repeatedly asking.

His grades used to be much better than Qin Yun's, consistently in the top ten of the class, but this time his score was lower than Qin Yun's.

He scored 560, which was enough to get into a good university.

At this time, Zhou Yang also seemed a bit tanned than before the exam. After the exam, he went traveling around other cities, only returning yesterday.

Although from a village, Zhou Yang's family conditions were quite good, and with him being the only child, they felt no economic pressure.

"Luck," Qin Yun said with a smile.

"Sigh, I'm so envious of you. If I scored that high, my parents would be overjoyed." Zhou Yang sighed.

After his parents learned Qin Yun's score, they gave him a good talking-to.

"Qin Yun, you scored so well, you'd better treat me to dinner." Just then, two girls walked over, Xiao Lan and Zhang Xiaoya.

Xiao Lan spoke with a smile.

"Oh? Xiao Lan is actually asking Qin Yun to treat her to dinner?"

"What's their relationship?"

Hearing Xiao Lan's words, some of the classmates around felt curious.

Now that high school was over, everyone naturally knew better than nothing. Xiao Lan was quite popular in class but maintained no more than a normal friendship with others.

And now she's actively asking a boy to treat her to dinner? It naturally felt a bit strange to them.

"Of course, I will." Hearing her words, Qin Yun nodded with a smile.

Xiao Lan had lent him notes, which indeed helped him improve his grades.

"It's a deal then," Xiao Lan said with a smile.

At this moment, a peculiar look was evident in the depths of her eyes.

Since she last saw Qin Yun at the wholesale market and learned about the Qiyun Clothing Store from her aunt, Wen Ya, she couldn't stop thinking about him.

Previously, Qin Yun was doing part-time jobs. Some classmates had even seen him wiping tables and washing dishes in a small restaurant, naturally sparking some unfavorable gossip.

Normal classmates facing this might feel a bit self-conscious, but Qin Yun didn't mind at all; he wasn't affected, which made her quite curious about him — a sentiment she didn't have for others.

Moreover, Qin Yun wasn't bad-looking. Even with a buzz cut, he was sunny and handsome. Handsome people naturally tend to earn a bit of goodwill.

Nonetheless, it was just a small curiosity.

Later, Qin Yun suddenly opened a clothing store, further piquing her curiosity.

After the wholesale market, she learned that Qin Yun had opened two clothing stores, and according to Wen Ya, each store's monthly profit exceeded 100,000!

She had gone to see them twice, and indeed, the stores had booming business, even better than her aunt's store.

Moreover, according to Wen Ya's information, the clothing stores entirely belonged to Qin Yun and weren't set up by his parents.

This was a young man who had worked part-time for over a year, even wiping tables and washing dishes at a small restaurant, and now he owned stores making 200,000 a month!

This was something high schoolers like them dared not even dream of — even if they graduated from college here, 200,000 a year would already be incredible.

Xiao Lan suddenly felt Qin Yun seemed mysterious, shrouded in a layer of mist, making it hard to see clearly what was inside.

After a while, the teacher arrived, and everyone headed to the computer lab to start filling out applications.

"Qin Yun, where do you want to go for college?" Zhou Yang, sitting with Qin Yun, asked casually.

"Jinling, Jiangyuan University," Qin Yun replied.

That's a Good University.

"Jinling, huh? I'm planning to go there too, but my score can't get me into Jiangyuan University. Even if I get in, it would be for one of the less appealing programs," Zhou Yang said.

Jinling is a developed city with many top universities, and with ten major universities combined, there's the 211 and the 985, plus others.

Wu City is quite close, so a significant portion of those who score well end up there.

"Oh? Xiao Lan, are you choosing Jiangyuan University too?" At the same time, Zhang Xiaoya's voice suddenly came through.

Hearing this, Qin Yun looked over at Xiao Lan, who seemed to sense it and glanced back at him.

"Qin Yun, it looks like we might be in the same school in the future," Xiao Lan said with a smile.

Obviously, she had overheard Qin Yun's words.

Her score was even two points higher than Qin Yun's, and Jiangyuan University was also her choice.

After filling out their applications, the students went home.

Walking down the road, Zhou Yang said mysteriously, "Qin Yun, I think Xiao Lan is interested in you."

Upon hearing this, Qin Yun was taken aback, saying, "Don't talk nonsense."

He hadn't really thought in that direction.

"Hehe, I have sharp eyes, nothing escapes me."

Zhou Yang chuckled, "You and Xiao Lan just happen to be attending the same university. Proximity breeds opportunity. Xiao Lan is the prettiest girl in our class. If you manage to win her, that would be glorious."

"You should really say a bit less," Qin Yun said helplessly.

Xiao Lan is pretty and has a nice personality. Naturally, he felt some goodwill towards her but not to that extent.

"Fine, if you won't listen, there's nothing I can do."

Seeing that Qin Yun wasn't getting it, Zhou Yang shook his head, but his face was full of anticipation: "My parents have been keeping a close watch during high school, but soon in college, I'm planning to have a thrilling romance."

Whether or not Zhou Yang's wish would be fulfilled was unknown, but at this moment, Sun Yadong was feeling very uneasy and increasingly anxious.

Several days had passed, yet at Qiyun Clothing Store, not a single piece of those expensive clothes had sold.
