Take Shen Zhuo for example, his B Grade profession and D-level talent are quite average among the upper class. However, if Chu Xiu wasn't around, and he chose a more aggressive exploration strategy, consuming the Corpse Demons near the apartment building, he could at least reach Level 7, then have someone help him grind to Level 9, and finally advance to Warrior Tier, which would not be surprising.
Those rich second-generation heirs find it much easier to enter the Warrior Tier with their family's help, even if their talent is somewhat lacking.
In other words, he needs to pay attention to his opponents, not just the King, Queen, and the Seven Knights.
Like Chu Qin, with dual A-level talent and profession, although not up to Qingshan's level, she still possesses outstanding aptitude. After successfully entering the Warrior Tier, her combat power is not to be underestimated.
"That Shen Tuhu, I've heard of him too. His family is wealthier than Shen Zhuo's, but his talent is average. He probably bought a High Grade profession and then advanced to Warrior Tier with his family's help."
As Chu Xiu pondered, Chu Qin led him to the top floor, where a makeshift office had been set up. There was even a solid wood desk, though Chu Xiu didn't understand why such things existed in an apocalyptic world. It was clear, however, that the boy sitting in front of the desk was quite satisfied with it.
He had his feet propped up on the desk, leisurely browsing through a stack of documents. His physique was broad, with a fierce back and waist, a round head, and a large face, dressed in black armor like an ancient Military General, but without facial hair, giving him a somewhat youthful appearance.
Chu Qin approached and said, "Student Shen, this is the Chu Xiu I told you about."
Shen Tuhu glanced at Chu Xiu, somewhat displeased, and said, "Why are you only here now? Your teammates have already arrived."
"I'm more used to working alone," Chu Xiu replied, neither servile nor overbearing.
"A Support Profession working alone?" Shen Tuhu chuckled disdainfully and then reprimanded him, "Do you know that because Chu specifically asked me to look after you, I ordered the exploration team to bring back all the corpses? If something happened to you halfway, wouldn't that waste a lot of our time and energy?"
Chu Xiu: "..."
"Never mind," Shen Tuhu waved impatiently, "The bodies are stored in the basement. Go quickly and turn them all into armor."
"Don't sleep tonight, make more armor, and first thing tomorrow morning, we start moving."
Chu Xiu didn't mind his overbearing commands and simply asked, "What's the payment?"
Hearing this, Shen Tuhu's impatience grew, "Of course, there'll be compensation. Do you think I'm short on money?"
"How much exactly?" Chu Xiu pressed on.
Shen Tuhu's large face visibly showed displeasure.
Most rich heirs detest price hagglers. They prefer giving commands, having others obediently follow, and granting rewards at their discretion.
As for the amount, it depends on their mood and usual practices.
However, glancing at Chu Qin, he didn't erupt and just snorted coldly, "Ten thousand for each Fine-quality armor, paid after Abyss. I won't accept a lower quality, and don't argue market price with me; this rate is high in Abyss, given because of Chu."
Chu Xiu didn't refute because it was indeed a considerable amount, especially since they collected the corpses for him.
Rich heirs, despite their annoying traits, tend to be generous in spending.
After thinking it through, Chu Xiu still said, "I want Cause and Effect Points."
Upon hearing this, Shen Tuhu flared up, "What does a Support Profession need with Cause and Effect Points? Do you know how valuable they are now?"
"Equipment is valuable too," Chu Xiu shrugged, "A Fine-quality piece typically only drops from Elite monsters, and the drop rate for armor is even lower."
"Ten Cause and Effect Points per piece, a fair price."
Shen Tuhu fixed his gaze on Chu Xiu, seemingly surprised at his audacity. In Shen Tuhu's view, without Combat Professions backing them, Support Professions are nothing, and now this one dared to demand Cause and Effect Points, which directly enhance power?
Ultimately, Shen Tuhu restrained himself, turned to Chu Qin, agitated, and said, "Chu, explain to him. Right now, every resource increasing power must be used wisely, how can Cause and Effect Points be given to a Support Profession?"
Chu Qin hesitated briefly, but seeing Chu Xiu's firm stance, she resolutely turned back, saying, "I'm sure Chu Xiu has his plans. Exchanging a Cause and Effect Point for a Fine armor isn't a loss for us."
She didn't know why Chu Xiu needed Cause and Effect Points, nor did she think giving them was wasteful, but like Zhang Qingshan, as long as it didn't violate principles, she'd respect her friend's decision and stand by them.
Anything, they'd discuss privately, but in the presence of others, show support.
Seeing Chu Qin's stance, Shen Tuhu had nothing to say, finally waving dismissively, "Do as you wish, but I'll report this truthfully."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Chu Qin thanked him and led Chu Xiu out.
Once outside, she rubbed her forehead, turned, and asked, "Ah Chu, what do you need Cause and Effect Points for? Ten points can only be sold for seventy or eighty thousand; are you contemplating private trades? Don't get any silly ideas! The state monitors these closely, and you can't imagine the inspectors' methods."
Chu Xiu chuckled, "Rest assured, Sister Qin, I'm not that foolish."
"That's good," Chu Qin said with a nod, then cautioned again, "Shen Tuhu is petty, don't provoke him for now."
Chu Xiu agreed with a smile.
Chu Qin said nothing further, for they would officially act tomorrow, and she had much to arrange. After directing Chu Xiu to the storage area, she hurried away.
The latter dutifully went to the underground parking lot, where Shen Tuhu hadn't deceived him as many corpses were indeed collected, most well-preserved, including high-level Corpse Demons.
Chu Xiu quickly estimated, that refining thirty pieces of +4 Bone Armor was easily achievable.
"Quite a workload, no wonder Shen Tuhu asked me not to sleep tonight."
Back when in Mortal Tier, refining this many bodies might have taken over an hour, but for Chu Xiu now, it was a moment's task.
However...
"I really don't plan to sleep tonight."
Chu Xiu's face showed an eerie smile.
With a wave of his hand, he soon completed the refining of all the armor.
He then casually found a spot and sat down, waiting quietly for nightfall.
Four hours later, at midnight, as everyone was deep in sleep replenishing energy for the next day's battle, Chu Xiu donned a black cloak and silently made his way to Shen Tuhu's office.
"Click."
With just a barely audible sound, the lock was broken. Chu Xiu stepped in, rifling through the documents, finding the nearby map with little effort.
As he looked at all the marked locations, a genuine smile spread across Chu Xiu's face.
Bargaining with Shen Tuhu was just a way to earn extra on the side.
His true goal was to act by night, sweeping all resources in one go while others rested!
"Eleven Warrior Tier creatures, two nests, all these resources, I shall claim them all for myself!"
