"Okay, I'm moving next month. How about you help me as a laborer for a day?"

"It's a deal."

With Lin Feifei settled, Li Xiang felt a lot less pressure. At least when he goes home this time, he had an explanation for his parents. As long as they didn't find out the truth, he was safe; he could enjoy some peace and quiet for a while.

After dinner, Lin Feifei drove Li Xiang and Coal Ball back home.

"Where are you staying tonight?"

"Hotel, I guess. Unless... you want me to stay at your place?"

"What's the problem with staying at my place? It's not like you haven't stayed over before."

Li Xiang's words instantly reminded Lin Feifei of the time during the Chinese New Year when she felt down, got drunk, and ended up spending the night at Li Xiang's place.

Thinking about it made Lin Feifei blush a bit, but seeing Li Xiang's mischievous grin, she retorted defiantly, "Fine, I'll sleep in the bed tonight. You and Coal Ball can figure it out."

Lin Feifei parked the car, dragged her suitcase, and bravely followed Li Xiang into the rental apartment.

Being drunk, you know nothing; you just stay.

"You take a shower first, and I'll take Coal Ball out for a walk."

Li Xiang took Coal Ball for an hour-long walk, bought some fruit from the store, and then returned home.

Li Xiang put the fruit down, untied Coal Ball's leash, then placed some dog food and water in the bowl, and headed to the balcony for a change of clothes before going to the bathroom.

Guys shower really fast—wet the whole body, shampoo, face wash, soap, rinse all at once, and done in less than ten minutes.

Coming out of the bathroom, Li Xiang grabbed a dry towel to give his hair another rub.

"You showered so quickly; I haven't even finished washing the fruit."

Apparently, while Li Xiang was showering, Lin Feifei washed the fruit he had bought, not expecting she couldn't finish in time.

"Let me help you with that."

Both squeezed into the narrow kitchen, their fragrances mingling, leading their hearts to race.

Li Xiang could clearly feel that Lin Feifei's face had turned red down to her ears.

"I'm... I'm going to lie down on the bed now."

"Weren't you going to sleep with Coal Ball?"

"Coal Ball's bed is too small. I'll get him a bigger one tomorrow before sleeping with him."

"Hmph, liar."

Girls can be sensitive. How could she not know that a kennel only as big as a washbasin couldn't possibly fit a person?

What he said was simply giving her an easy out.

Realistically, how could Li Xiang actually sleep with a dog for a whole night?

The two lay on the bed, both silently playing on their phones awkwardly.

However, neither really focused on what was on their screens, mindlessly scrolling, searching for a topic to break the ice.

To diffuse the awkwardness, Li Xiang was ready to find something to talk about, and coincidentally Lin Feifei seemed to have something to say, so Li Xiang quickly said, "You go first."

Opening the map app to navigate their way home, Lin Feifei drove her red sports car onto the highway headed towards Jing'an County.
