Gourmet: Midnight Vending

Chapter 66: Impressions Upon Release

Old traditions remain.

Up on the shelf at midnight.

Firstly, let me declare: This book is set in a completely fictional world and has no connection to any real places or people. If some names or places seem similar, it's purely coincidental. Please don't relate them to reality.

Unknowingly, this is my third book on this platform.

The first book, "Gourmet Customization," tells the story of the protagonist turning a nearly bankrupt pre-prepared food company into a restaurant capable of hosting state banquets, fulfilling any customer demand.

The second book, "Nordic Chef God," ended up with a loose end... It was originally intended to tell a story of daily life on an estate. Back then, I had grand ambitions to write about farming, hunting, fishing, and similar tales. Because it involved hunting and rearing wild animals, I set the location in Northern Europe. Unfortunately, it ended up unraveling before the story could fully develop.

This is the third book, and honestly, I didn't want to use this title.

The original title was: "Chen Mo's Mobile Food Truck"

But obviously, such a title could easily flop.

In fact, the inspiration for this book did not originate from what some readers think, which is a random food vendor concept.

Instead, it came from Howl's Moving Castle.

At the time, I thought, if I also had a mobile castle, wherever I open the door of the food truck, it could be any place in the world.

Then, I could taste the local cuisine, and I could bring and share my culinary creations with the locals.

This is the core of this book and the height the protagonist ultimately aspires to reach.

But in the beginning, the food truck doesn't even have an engine, so it can only temporarily drift around Jingzhou cooking.

The "Seeking Flavor" series of quests will gradually lead the protagonist to search for unique ingredients across the country.

"Skill Seeking" will take the protagonist to meet extraordinary people in various fields.

"Seeking Love" hopes to integrate some emotions into the culinary experiences.

As the main quest progresses, the food truck will grow more powerful, and its area of activity will expand.

I hope to bring some interesting food stories, but with lots of content, inevitably, some small stories might be a bit dull. Hopefully, everyone won't mind too much... Skipping around while reading seems to be, well, okay?

As for the updates.

Writing 10,000 words a day is something I'm barely capable of, but during the first book, I discovered a problem. With 10,000 words daily, firstly, there's no backup script, making it hard to deal with unexpected situations. Secondly, writing and publishing on the same day means if the plot doesn't feel quite right, it's tough to go back and revise it, forcing me to continue writing blindly.

So for this book as of now, at least 6,000 words daily shouldn't be a problem.

Additionally, there's a question that's always puzzled me.

What chapter length do you all find comfortable to read?

I hope you can mark a 1 after the corresponding word count, and the comment with the most votes by midnight on the 2nd will be the word count for future updates, okay?

2000 words per chapter

3000 words per chapter

4000 words per chapter

6000 words per chapter

Lastly, the initial subscription results and average subscriptions for each book are crucial for future recommendations.

If you can, and if you enjoy reading it, I hope you can give it an initial subscription, keep following the updates... or maybe set up an auto-subscription? Hehe.

A big thank you to all.

Bang bang bang~~

Three knocks on the head for a direct plea, begging for your initial subscription!
