Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 112: The Round Table Knight's Protection

The Duke planned to use the money he had in hand; leaving it there wouldn't generate any interest.

There are banks on the West Coast, but they don't offer interest rates here. You still have to pay the bank to store your money.

After all, safeguarding so many magic stones and valuable items comes with some costs.

The Duke thought for a moment and decided to purchase a powerful self-defense demonized item.

He was primarily thinking about survival, always feeling that his defensive measures were not enough.

The Duke returned to the Alchemy Shop, which is officially called the Broken Cauldron Alchemy Shop, seemingly run by the Alchemy Association on the West Coast.

He was once again greeted by White, who had previously assisted him when purchasing the Shadow Insect Bag.

White, as before, gave the Duke a small brochure, a catalog of various demonized items.

The Duke did not look at it, as it contained demonized items that the Alchemy Shop routinely sold.

He had already viewed it before and found nothing that particularly satisfied him.

Truly powerful demonized items are generally limited in quantity and not listed in this catalog.

For the Alchemy Shop, customizing Alchemy Creations based on customer needs is the most profitable.

The Duke's funds were not enough for customized demonized items, but he could purchase something from the Alchemy Shop's inventory.

"I want to purchase a demonized item with sufficiently strong defensive abilities," the Duke said.

If it weren't for the fact that Level 1 Witchcraft Artifacts can't be used by Wizard Apprentices, he would have purchased a witchcraft artifact directly.

But even if he could use it, he didn't have enough magic stones on hand.

Witchcraft Artifacts generally have particularly powerful effects, with Magic Power contained inside that Wizard Apprentices cannot control.

Once a Wizard Apprentice activates a witchcraft artifact, releasing the Magic within, it can potentially lead to backlash.

Uli's Substitute Death Grassman does not fall within this category, as it is a highly unique witchcraft artifact that allows one to escape death once, without needing active triggering.

The Duke also researched some related materials and discovered that the principle behind witchcraft artifacts like the Substitute Death Grassman is surprisingly a curse.

He couldn't fully understand the materials he found but learned roughly that the curse causes a person not to die, achieving the effect of substituting death.

But in reality, it's more complex, involving many profound domains.

Naturally, the Duke also wanted to purchase such a substitute magic witchcraft artifact, but it simply wasn't available, with no access whatsoever.

The refining requirements for this kind of witchcraft artifact are extremely rigorous, demanding high standards for both materials and alchemists.

Upon hearing the Duke's request, White thought for a moment and said, "Please wait a moment, I will contact someone."

Since the Duke mentioned a powerful defensive demonized item, it was clear that the ordinary demonized items couldn't meet this need.

White silently communicated through the Wizard's Mark and said after a few minutes, "There's currently a defensive-type demonized item that should meet your requirements."

"This demonized item is called the Guardian of the Round Table Knight. It can withstand an attack of thirty degrees once and has good constant defensive abilities against attacks below ten degrees..."

The so-called constant defensive ability means being able to withstand continuous attacks.

As long as the attack intensity is below ten degrees, the Guardian of the Round Table Knight can defend, lasting up to five minutes.

Even with the Duke's improved Spiritual Power, the intensity of the Water Arrow Technique is at most around two degrees.

His level is quite good among Second-class Wizard Apprentices, above average.

Even a First-class Wizard Apprentice typically wouldn't have much higher attack strength.

If the Duke had this Guardian of the Round Table Knight, he could almost be immune to attacks from ordinary Wizard Apprentices.

Although the time is only five minutes, it's sufficient to handle many situations.

Most importantly, the Guardian of the Round Table Knight also has resistance capabilities against high-intensity attacks.

A thirty-degree attack strength is already at the level of Official Wizards, typical Wizard Apprentices definitely can't use such high-intensity attack methods.

Even though it can only defend once, it's enough to save a life in critical moments.

"What's the price?" The Duke was quite satisfied with this demonized item; it was almost the strongest defense among demonized items.

"Two thousand three hundred Level 1 Magic Stones. If you want it, we'll arrange for someone to deliver it," White said.

"Can't it be a bit cheaper?" The Duke felt some pain at parting with over two thousand magic stones at once.

White looked embarrassed: "The price is not something we can decide, because it essentially belongs to the Association, and we can't change the price."

The Broken Cauldron Alchemy Shop is just a branch of the Alchemy Association, and they can't decide the price for items like the Guardian of the Round Table Knight which hold higher value.

They act as a transfer station in reality; the ownership of this demonized item does not belong to the Broken Cauldron Alchemy Shop.

The Duke gritted his teeth and eventually paid two thousand three hundred magic stones to purchase the Guardian of the Round Table Knight.

He believed the money had to be spent; personal safety was always the most important.

After signing a transaction contract with White, each having a copy as proof.

Two days later, the Duke received a ring from White.

The ring was silver-white, the ring face engraved with a shield and a long sword, crossed.

Upon receiving it, the Duke tested it in the laboratory of the Broken Cauldron Alchemy Shop.

Upon activating it with Magic Power, the ring erupted with violent energy, followed by a strange power enveloping the Duke.

Looking closely, the Duke saw a Knight's Shadow shrouding him.

This Knight's Shadow was about five meters tall, wearing a suit of silver-white armor, holding a long spear in the right hand and a shield in the left.

His Spiritual Power was connected to this shadow, allowing him to issue some simple commands to the Knight's Shadow.

When shrouded by the shadow, it was in the constant defense mode, able to defend against attacks below ten degrees.

With a thought, the Duke commanded the Knight's Shadow to lift the shield overhead, and silver-white energy flowed from the shield to cover the surroundings.

This was the strongest defensive mode, capable of defending against an attack of up to thirty degrees once.

Besides, the Knight's Shadow also had attack capabilities; wielding the long spear could deal light-attribute attacks to surrounding enemies.

However, this attack strength was relatively low, only one to two degrees.

Yet, against Undead Element creatures, it had a large bonus, as the light-attribute power strongly restrained the Undead Element creatures.

White collaborated with the Duke using some small spells for testing, and recorded all the data, finally compiling a comprehensive report handed to the Duke.

The Broken Cauldron Alchemy Shop's service was indeed meticulous and professional, even responsible for subsequent repairs.

As long as the damage is not too severe, they can repair it for free.
