Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 121: Harbor City

Harbor City is a renowned port city on the West Coast, boasting the largest port on the entire coast, where countless ships dock and set sail every day.

This is also one of the territories of the Black Sail.

One of the reasons Duke readily agreed to Hela's request without much hesitation is because of this.

The territories of the Black Sail naturally take better care of their own. If a Black Sail wizard is bullied here, those responsible for maintaining order in the city will certainly not stand idly by.

This represents not only the face of individual wizards but also the face of the Black Sail.

After Duke informed Vivian of this matter, Vivian also took leave from Grace's side to meet Duke.

Since arriving at the West Coast and parting, they hadn't seen each other for nearly six months.

Duke stood by the sea at Academy Island and sent a message to the Black Sail Badge using his spiritual power.

Moments later, a small boat appeared in the distance, with a dark demon rowing diligently towards him.

Duke boarded the boat, and it rocked gently.

The dark demon grinned and then rowed the boat away from Academy Island in the opposite direction.

A sea breeze blew by, and when Duke sensed something and looked back, Academy Island had disappeared from sight.

Ahead, there were muffled rumblings, and a massive whirlpool surfaced before him.

The small boat headed straight towards the great whirlpool at a rapid pace.

Having had previous experience, Duke was not as tense and stood firmly on the small boat.

A huge black shadow appeared beneath the boat. It was the Guardian of the Black Sail.

Duke glanced down and could sense that the shadow possessed immense life energy, though it was much weaker than the Three-headed Dog he had encountered in the Nightmare Plane.

Of course, this didn't necessarily equate to strength; life energy merely indicates the lifespan of a being.

The small boat quickly approached the whirlpool and began to spin rapidly around it.

Duke felt a momentary blur before his eyes, and his head was a bit dizzy.

This feeling lasted for just an instant and then vanished, as the boat stabilized, gliding smoothly over the sea surface.

Duke lifted his head to see the coastline ahead, where a giant city was perched.

This city was Harbor City, most renowned for its entertainment industry.

This is Black Sail's territory; with fewer regulations, as long as you don't commit acts like murder or arson within the city, no one will generally interfere with you.

Taverns, gambling houses, brothels—everything is available here. If you're willing to spend money, you can find any form of entertainment.

Harbor City is a well-known gold sinkhole on the West Coast, attracting numerous wizards who come to indulge in enjoyment and spend large amounts of magic stones.

Black Sail also reaps a fortune from Harbor City, continually enriching the city's infrastructure with numerous investments.

Shortly afterward, the small boat docked, surrounded by several gigantic tower ships.

Once Duke stepped ashore, he casually tossed a piece of smoked deer heart to the dark demon.

When he had entered Black Sail, he departed from Dusk City, yet here he was, reappearing on the outskirts of Harbor City.

Reflecting on the West Coast map, Duke recalled that the straight-line distance between Harbor City and Dusk City was nearly two thousand kilometers.

Though such a vast distance, it seemed as if everything was just outside Black Sail's doorstep. How it was achieved was beyond him.

The meeting of the Magic Potion Association wasn't until the next day, so Duke had to stay overnight at the Fiery Fire Inn in the city, all prearranged.

The Fiery Fire Inn also belonged to Black Sail, and reservations could be made in advance on Academy Island. Internal Black Sail wizards generally chose to stay here.

The hotel only accommodated Black Sail insiders, simplifying networking for Black Sail wizards, reducing potential trouble.

A night's stay here wasn't cheap, costing three Level 1 Magic Stones.

This was expensive for Duke, but relatively cheap here.

Fiery Fire Inn's price was low throughout Harbor City, where it was not uncommon to find places charging dozens of magic stones per night, with even more expensive options available for those willing to pay.

The mere thought of these prices left Duke feeling it was quite extravagant—what kind of inn charges dozens of magic stones for just one night?

The Fiery Fire Inn was located in a relatively secluded spot on the western outskirts of Harbor City, surrounded by a peaceful environment.

It probably wasn't intended to be a moneymaker, considering its less advantageous location, but merely provided convenience for Black Sail's internal wizards.

After showing his Black Sail Badge, Duke quickly completed the check-in procedures.

He didn't even need a key, as he could open and close the hotel room doors using the Black Sail Badge.

At nightfall, Duke didn't go out to wander. Instead, he stayed at the hotel, ate a steak delivered by the hotel, and then entered a state of meditation.

He knew there were many places to enjoy in Harbor City, but he lacked the time.

Duke wished for more hours in a day so he could spend more time honing his skills.

Late into the night, Harbor City remained brightly lit, with colorful lights illuminating many parts.

Wizards technically didn't need daily sleep and could keep playing for days and nights when they went wild, full of energy.

Even sitting in his room, Duke could faintly hear the distant sounds through closed windows.

However, the sound had become quite faint here, only audible due to his sharp hearing.

Duke suddenly found the location Black Sail chose for the hotel quite fitting, away from the bustling noisy areas for a better rest.

Sleeping over there might require several sound insulation spells at night.

The whole night quietly passed in silent meditation. When Duke opened his eyes, it was precisely dawn. After a quick wash and a simple bread-and-milk breakfast provided by the hotel, he was ready to set out.

The Magic Potion Association also had an office in Harbor City, located in a luxuriously grand architectural complex.

Standing outside, Duke looked up at the five-hundred-meter tall spire, marveling at the wealth of the Magic Potion Association.

This place was near the center of Harbor City, where land was incredibly valuable, illustrating the power of the Magic Potion Association.

Upon entering, Duke felt dwarfed, as the interior was outrageously spacious with exceptionally high ceilings.

Looking up, the ceiling was crafted from transparent gemstones, reflecting everything on the ground in an upside-down image.

Duke thought that even giants could comfortably reside here, as the design wasn't entirely human-oriented.

The interior of the Magic Potion Association was massive, with labyrinthine pathways filled with people constantly coming and going.

Duke sensed that these people were mostly Official Wizards, with particularly powerful auras they unconsciously emitted.

He, as a second-class Wizard Apprentice, felt out of place here, like he had entered a world that wasn't his own.
