Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 133: Astrology

Duke accompanied Vivian on a food and drink tour, trying out numerous wizard snacks.

Both of them were Great Knights, making it difficult to get full from these, but they had the chance to try various delicacies.

In addition, Duke also accompanied Vivian to numerous clothing stores, buying over a dozen outfits.

Vivian even bought Duke a few outfits of different styles, explaining when and how he should wear each one.

Fashion in this era wasn't simple at all; it was quite troublesome.

It took Duke some time to learn how to wear these different styles of clothing.

All these activities took up most of the day, providing Duke with a rare and leisurely moment.

Before this, his life felt like a tightly stretched string, with even sleeping time spent honing skills, leaving almost no leisure time.

It was the same for Vivian. Life at Thorn Holy Tower was very busy and tense, with only one day off per week.

That day was cleared of classes, usually designated for wizard apprentices to rest.

Vivian didn't rest, however, spending time in Grace's library studying various knowledge and jotting down any questions she encountered.

She would try to find answers through research and experiments for these questions, compiling any unresolved ones to consult Grace periodically to resolve them all at once.

Grace was also very busy, with numerous tasks on regular days, unable to constantly guide Vivian.

She had taught hundreds of students over the years, yet Vivian was the only current wizard apprentice.

Others either became Official Wizards or had already died.

The Harbor City was divided into two main sections: one by the sea adjacent to the port with a district,

and another up the mountain, with the harbor at its foothill, and urban areas sprawled along the mountain.

Standing on the peak, one could overlook the surroundings, viewing the vast and picturesque ocean scenery, a notable attraction.

The mountaintop was wide, housing extensive building complexes.

Duke and Vivian initially came here to enjoy the view but noticed activities taking place here, with many spectators.

A man, with a black top hat and a monocle on his left eye, stood in the field alongside an odd black jar containing ink-like liquid.

"Ladies and gentlemen! I am Luke, the astrologer from Black Sail. Once again, it's the annual Lamia Day, and I am here to offer blessings for lovers!" Luke, dressed in a black suit, appeared quite gentlemanly.

Lamia Day was known as the West Coast's Valentine's Day, something Duke and Vivian learned about during their day's outing.

Various activities filled the Harbor City today, prompting Duke and Vivian to explore the area all day.

"What is an astrologer?" Duke inquired.

Vivian replied, "An astrologer is also a wizard, but they practice astrology. Astrology is a unique magic requiring special talent, where not even one in a thousand wizards have an astrologer's talent."

"Advanced astrology can predict the future, revealing unseen aspects ahead. Major wizard organizations have astrologers, generally tasked with searching for other planes."

Wizards seeking to plunder resources and conquer other planes first need to discover their existence.

Just gazing upward is difficult to glimpse a plane's existence; the plane's barrier conceals its presence, offering natural protection.

This makes it nearly impossible to directly observe a plane with the naked eye or through other means, leaving one with merely a starry sky when looking up.

With astrology, astrologers can locate some plane existences and obtain their coordinates.

After securing the coordinates, wizard organizations can dispatch people to explore the plane's actual condition, analyzing gathered intel to assess resource availability and worthiness of plunder.

Hence, astrologers are indispensable assets for wizard organizations; due to their scarcity, they usually enjoy favorable treatment and high status.

Luke, famed within Black Sail, also boasted the strength of a Level 3 wizard.

Unlike most wizards, he preferred to showcase himself, embracing a carefree quest for freedom.

Perhaps this was why he chose to join Black Sail, which, unlike other wizard organizations with numerous requirements and restrictions, best accommodated Luke's longing for freedom.

Each year, Luke bestows genuine blessings for lovers on Lamia Day via astrology.

Unlike mere psychological comfort, astrology involves rule-layered elements, ensuring true effectiveness.

This explains his popularity, drawing numerous couples annually for his blessings.

However, Luke's blessings are given indiscriminately, purely based on luck.

Luke glanced around, stating, "Now, I'll select the lucky ones; those chosen, bring your partner here."

Snapping his fingers, the space before him rippled, launching a fairy the size of an adult's fist from another realm.

A fairy clad in a green gown, bearing three pairs of transparent wings, resembling a human girl but with elfin ears, emerged.

"Frey, pick today's lucky ones." Luke addressed the fairy Frey.

Frey smiled sweetly, brandishing a wand akin to a sewing needle, then soared above the crowd.

The crowd erupted in chaos, as many implored Frey to select them.

Some even tempted her with copious magic stones and gemstones, hoping to bribe her.

Undeterred, Frey flitted around the crowd, pausing above some heads before moving on.

Eventually, she flew toward Duke and Vivian.

Frey glanced from Duke to Vivian, seemingly aware of their couple status, and smiled, asking, "Would you like to be Frey's lucky ones?"

Vivian eagerly awaited this moment, hoping to be chosen.

Aware it depended on fate, she held back from yelling at Frey.

"Yes!" Vivian promptly replied.

Duke naturally agreed, equally curious about astrology and its workings.
