Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 159: Sky Torn Asunder

After Ackman had repaired the magic-guided cannon, he clapped his hands in satisfaction and continued to patrol the city walls.

The green-skinned Orcs have always been adept at production and manufacturing, and repairs are their forte.

Even though Ackman often did not understand why he managed to fix something, he'd never let such questions bother him.

If he couldn't figure something out, he'd rather not think about it and, instead, enjoy a few more bites of food.

After completing his patrol, Ackman would, as usual, head into the city to arrest some beastmen who liked to relieve themselves indiscriminately.

Reynolds had long ago stated that the Beastmen civilization should develop into a stronger civilized race.

Relieving oneself indiscriminately was not permitted, as it would pollute their city and spread disease.

Even though Reynolds had established these regulations, many Beastmen still did not abide by the rules, often choosing to relieve themselves indiscriminately.

Actually, Ackman also felt that relieving oneself indiscriminately wasn't a big issue; going to the toilet required quite a distance.

Moreover, the Beastmen had lived like this for thousands of years.

Nonetheless, Ackman knew his duty and deeply respected Reynolds, determined to execute Reynolds' orders without fail.

Just as he was about to leave the city walls, he suddenly sensed something amiss and instinctively looked up at the sky.

What he saw next was an image he would never forget in his lifetime.

A rift appeared in the azure sky.

The rift seemed to be very far away, yet it remained distinctly visible.

Behind the rift was utter darkness, penetrated by a few starlights, though they were overshadowed by the sunlight.

Once the rift appeared, it was clear to see it was healing, like a wound slowly closing.

When Ackman saw this rift, an immense fear inexplicably arose within him.

He couldn't explain the source of this fear, but after a brief search, Ackman realized it was the whole world trembling in fear.

As the rift gradually closed, a pair of hands suddenly appeared, gripping the edges of the rift tightly.

At that moment, Ackman felt as if those hands were strangling his throat, causing him to suffocate.

The hands exerted force abruptly, tearing open the wound that was about to heal, turning the small rift into an enormous gap.

It was then Ackman clearly saw the owner of those hands and saw an eye appear in the rift, spying on everything in this world.

As the eye locked onto him, Ackman's hair stood on end, an overwhelming sense of danger and profound helplessness gripping his heart.

He recalled his childhood when he crouched by the grass watching ants, feeling the same then.

In the face of such an existence, they were merely insects.

All life on the Beastman Plane witnessed this scene, an indescribable fear and confusion welling up inside them, unsure of what awaited them next.

After the rift in the sky was torn open, countless small black dots appeared at the rift.

Initially, these dots were insignificant, and many people couldn't notice them at all.

However, as the dots approached this world, everyone could see clearly that they were space airships, rapidly descending and about to land.

Although the green-skinned Orcs could produce some aircraft, they were limited to high-altitude flights and could not yet leave the planet.

The appearance of these airships indicated that the civilization behind them had developed beyond the current Beastman Plane.

Ackman forced himself to calm down from the shock, striving to keep his mind steady.

He quickly ran to the watchtower on the city wall, snatching the horn from the hands of a stunned and trembling guard, then took a deep breath and blew the horn.

The horn's sound instantly echoed throughout the entire Moon Shadow City and even reverberated across the surrounding wilderness.

With the sounding of this horn, it signified that peace would no longer exist in the world.

After the Black Sail's space airships landed, they did not directly descend into the Beastmen cities but landed in some pre-arranged areas.

The various Slave Creatures inside the airships emerged, quickly regrouping and assembling formations.

The Slave Creatures were clearly tasked, some immediately starting to construct fortifications and set camps.

Others, having organized into an army, began to majestically march forth, targeting the Beastmen cities ahead.

Among these Slave Creatures were ogres, kobolds, crocodile men, lizardmen, and other races, all captured by the Wizards from other planes.

A muscular kobold rode atop a Kodo Beast, his indifferent eyes fixated silently on the chaos unfolding in Moon Shadow City.

His name was Reid, a veteran of many planar wars, of formidable strength, and had reached the Level 1 Peak stage.

Reid observed the chaos in Moon Shadow City, reminiscent of his homeland when invaded by the Wizards.

Back then, the kobolds didn't comprehend the Wizards' terror and power, even attempting to resist and drive them out of their homeland.

Only later did Reid understand that once the Wizards appeared in this world, the outcome was already predetermined.

Reid had grand aspirations; he sought to transcend the identity of a Slave Creature.

It's not easy, yet it's achievable.

Slave Creatures were not entirely worthless; in fact, the Wizards often offered better conditions than their original worlds.

All they had to do was follow orders unconditionally and conquer one Plane's beings after another.

Reid started as a weak kobold, but through countless wars, grew to his current level.

During his journey, he made many friends among the Slave Creatures and endured pesky enemies.

But as wars raged on, Reid witnessed numerous friends and foes fall beside him.

He's become accustomed to blood and death, the norms of war.

Reid's goal was to strive to ensure he would not be the next to fall.

War indeed was brutal, but it also facilitated rapid growth.

At least Reid had now touched tiers he previously dared not dream of, realizing power was everything.

This batch of Slave Legionnaires were battle-hardened veterans, indicating the Wizards' considerable regard for this war.

With a Wizard's order echoing in the minds of the Slave Creatures, a Legion of nearly eighty thousand Slave Creatures swarmed towards Moon Shadow City like a tidal wave from all directions.

Facing the massive enemy force suddenly appearing ahead, Ackman felt not even a trace of fear.

He clutched his long knife tightly, glanced at the flag fluttering beside him, feeling an unprecedented surge of fighting spirit and courage.
