Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 205: Two Breathing Techniques

In a valley, around Duke lay the corpses of over a dozen ogres, and a Two-headed ogre was trembling in front of him.

The Two-headed ogre had been wreaking havoc here for some time and had defeated quite a few adventurers who came to subdue him.

Unexpectedly, today a god of slaughter appeared out of nowhere and wiped out all his minions without a word.

The Two-headed ogre knew he was no match, but he could only do his best to try.

A small Thunderball formed in his hand and flew towards Duke after a moment.

Duke looked at this Thunderball with some sentiment; it couldn't even get close to him, dissipating without a spark against the yellow sand tens of meters away.

The once nearly fatal encounter with the Two-headed ogre required him and Vivian to join forces and fight with all their might to barely kill it.

Now, the Two-headed ogre in front of him had become an exceedingly weak creature; with a thought, countless yellow sands snatched at the Two-headed ogre.

Moments later, the sand bound it, blood spattered, and the Two-headed ogre perished instantly.

This demon, once considered mighty, now couldn't last a single round.

Duke felt a bit lackluster; such a task held no real meaning for him, and he did not enjoy this one-sided massacre.

If not for completing the Knight Hall's task, he wouldn't have bothered dealing with these ogres.

After casually resolving the Two-headed ogre, Duke approached the ogre's corpse, cut off its two small heads, and placed them into the Space Ring, completing the Knight Hall's task.

Shari and Nina watched the entire process from mid-mountain.

Before they had time to descend, Duke had already wiped out the entire ogre tribe here.

Moments later, Duke stepped on the yellow sand and flew up to them, saying, "Let's go back. Oh, and here's the ogre head I cut off for you."

He handed a regular ogre's head to Shari, allowing her to complete the Adventurer Association's task as well.

Shari boldly grasped the ogre's head, blood still dripping down.

Her years as an adventurer weren't for nothing; she had seen all kinds of scenes.

Duke then waved his hand, and a swirl of yellow sand lifted Shari and Nina, forming a flying carpet-like platform that carried them away together.

It was Shari's first time experiencing this; watching the forest below retreating rapidly, she felt a peculiar marvel.

The journey back only took ten minutes instead of the two hours it took to arrive.

When Duke approached Torch City from the outside, he landed; one is not allowed to fly into Torch City, and must pass identity verification at the gate.

"Thank you, Duke," Shari thanked awkwardly.

This trip, she completed the task without lifting a finger and even brought some inconvenience to Duke.

"It's no trouble." Duke didn't mind and headed straight to the Knight Hall.

Shari looked at Duke's departing figure, standing there for a long time, lost in thought.

...

Inside the Knight Hall, Bell had no surprise at Duke's task completion, promptly processing the paperwork for Duke.

Duke received a silver-white badge engraved with a crossed sword and shield, the insignia of the Knight Hall.

He then inquired about the Breathing Technique, to which Bell mused, "I can personally grant you two basic Breathing Techniques, but high-tier Breathing Techniques still require Knight Hall contributions to exchange, I hope you understand."

Duke expressed his gratitude: "Thank you, Mr. Bell, I don't need high-tier Breathing Techniques at the moment; I still need Wind Attribute and Fire Attribute Breathing Techniques for research. When the time comes to study high-tier Breathing Techniques, I'll earn the contributions myself."

"No problem, I'll recommend two representative Breathing Techniques for you." Bell smiled.

Normally, even basic Breathing Techniques require contributions to exchange.

But due to the particular circumstance, Bell aimed to befriend Duke as an Official Wizard, hence granting him two basic Breathing Techniques.

He retrieved two basic Breathing Techniques, one each for Wind Attribute and Fire Attribute.

After taking a glance at the names, Duke noted they were called the Spirit Wind Breathing Technique and the Dragon Breath Breathing Technique.

The Spirit Wind Breathing Technique is a classic among Wind Attribute Breathing Techniques, with excellent effects and subsequent high-tier techniques.

The Dragon Breath Breathing Technique is relatively unique, reportedly created by mimicking dragon breath despite its Fire Attribute, although its authenticity is uncertain.

Both Breathing Techniques contain respective Secret Potion recipes, and Duke plans to modify these recipes later to develop two Secondary Potions aiding Breathing Technique practice.

With experience from the Mountain Magic Potion and the accumulation of knowledge over time, developing these two Secondary Potions is quite manageable.

Finally, Duke inquired about the Light Attribute Breathing Technique he was most concerned about.

Wind and Fire Attributes are relatively easy to acquire, whereas Light Attribute Breathing Techniques are extremely rare, existing only on the East Coast.

Bell also discerned that Duke genuinely cared about the Light Attribute Breathing Technique, stating: "The Knight Hall doesn't possess a Light Attribute Breathing Technique."

"Doesn't possess?" Duke was puzzled; this contradicted the intelligence he had gathered.

Bell continued, "The Light Attribute Breathing Technique resides with the God of Light; Knight Hall knights have the opportunity to inherit the Light Attribute Breathing Technique, but the chances are very low."

"God of Light… is this a god from the Wizard Plane?" Duke queried.

To his understanding, the Wizard Plane had no real gods; such deities were fabricated among general people.

The term "God of Light" indicated that this Light God genuinely existed, rather than being a mere concoction.

Deities are not uncommon, theoretically requiring a Level 4 life form to condense a Divine Status to be termed a god.

However, across the Endless Plane, any sufficiently strong individual may be referred to as a god.

For instance, if Duke returned to the Florence Continent, he could assume the role of a god through his abilities.

The Wizard Plane strictly controls the spread of beliefs from other plane deities, generally prohibiting the spread of such faiths from other planes.

Duke had not heard of this God of Light and was unaware of its origins.
