Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 217: 1 Million Magic Stones

Black Sail actually didn't take control of the Wood Elf Plane that long ago, merely fifty years ago.

The Wood Elf Plane is an exceptionally excellent resource-based plane, with rich magic potion resources and various magic potion materials growing that many wizards have never seen before.

Wood Elves are also a superior race of elves, naturally born casters, distinguished in either magical talent or their excellent appearance, regarded as particularly high-grade slave creatures.

After Black Sail took control of the Wood Elf Plane, it quickly developed it into a magic potion plantation. Besides the pre-existing magic potion materials on the Wood Elf Plane, they also planted large areas of magic potion materials.

The environment there is highly conducive to the growth of magic potion materials, and the quality of the produced magic potion materials is excellent.

Naturally, behind such rich resources lies enormous interests, and many forces similar to the Giant Rock Commerce Association aim to profit from it.

Black Sail also signed contracts with many forces, allowing part of them to plant magic potion materials in the Wood Elf Plane or directly purchase magic potion materials, refine potions, etc.

A full-fledged magic potion production chain has been established there, making the cost of planting or purchasing magic potion materials much lower, saving a significant sum for forces like the Giant Rock Commerce Association.

Since their magic potion business is quite large, being able to get a share directly from the massive raw material base of the Wood Elf Plane is very economical.

The Giant Rock Commerce Association has always had business over there for these years.

The entire Wood Elf Plane is massive, with five continents almost entirely planted with various magic potion materials.

The Giant Rock Commerce Association has a plantation there, but the ownership of this plantation does not belong to them; they only have usage rights.

Black Sail certainly won't sell the land it owns, only selling usage rights, and then extracting a portion of the profit from the total value of magic potion materials obtained by these forces.

Yet, in actual execution, there are many subtleties.

Because the Wood Elf Plane is vast, the planned plantation size actually doesn't have very strict boundaries, and forces like the Giant Rock Commerce Association often plant a bit more.

For instance, they originally bought usage rights for one piece of land, but in practice, planted on two pieces of land.

The plane is so big that land is never fully utilized, and very few come to investigate these details.

Black Sail is aware of this, but they don't care, letting these people enjoy a bit more is nothing, since they don't charge by the price of one piece of land anyway.

Plus, they originally take a percentage, so when these people plant more, their percentage grows too.

Generally, unless someone actively breaks this tacit understanding, nobody will look into these, as everyone is happy profiting.

But now there's a small issue.

Black Sail always has someone stationed in the Wood Elf Plane. Any member of Black Sail can take on various plane stationing tasks, with times ranging from months to decades according to personal willingness.

There has been a familiar wizard stationed on the piece of land held by the Giant Rock Commerce Association, dealing with daily affairs well.

But now, the wizard is returning to the Wizard Plane to advance to a level 2 wizard, leading to a temporary vacancy, making it unclear who will be stationed there next.

The Giant Rock Commerce Association is worried that if individuals from rival commerce associations are stationed, they may cause trouble for them.

After all, the contract clearly delineates the land boundaries, and if someone deliberately finds fault, the Giant Rock Commerce Association would undoubtedly suffer.

Then, much of that large piece of land will likely be repossessed.

Black Sail typically wouldn't do this as they don't like offending people, but forces within Black Sail are also intricate and complex.

The Giant Rock Commerce Association has operated for years and has quite a few enemies; someone may seize the opportunity to cause trouble.

Duke curiously asked, "So how much extra land did you actually plant?"

Harrison thought for a moment and made a gesture of one.

"Planted double the land?"

"A hundred times."

Duke rolled his eyes, it's no wonder the Giant Rock Commerce Association reached out to him and even invited him to dinner.

The boldness of these commerce associations is incredible, planting a hundred times more land, and the interests involved are tremendous.

Black Sail must know about this situation, just not investigating, most likely it's similar in other places.

"Are you overthinking this? This is sort of a tacit rule anyhow, if anyone tries to mess with you, can't you counteract? I don't believe others' records are clean," Duke said.

He thought since everyone does it this way, nobody is clean, and nobody talks about it; sparking disputes helps nobody.

Harrison sighed, "That's indeed the case, it's been going like this for years. But just now, we've had a bit of turmoil within the commerce association, financial issues. If someone takes action at this moment, and Black Sail investigates, we can't pay compensation, and those lands will likely fall into others' hands."

"By the time our funding turns around, we won't be able to reclaim those lands."

Duke realized it's essentially a land dispute among the commerce associations.

Once they lose the usage rights to those lands, even if the Giant Rock Commerce Association wants to retaliate and trouble the opponent, the opponent will likely be prepared, and it won't be easy to find faults.

Regardless of the outcome, the Giant Rock Commerce Association will have already lost those lands, a consequence they can't afford.

"So you want me to go station at the Wood Elf Plane?" Duke said.

Harrison nodded, "Exactly, as long as you take the stationing task there, we can arrange for you to be on our land through our channels."

"What's the duration, how long do I need to station?"

"About within a year, shouldn't exceed a year, and during this year, you don't need to do anything, all affairs can be managed by us," Harrison said.

Duke thought, "I can't let them handle everything, must oversee matters to avoid being duped..."

He never trusted the character of these commerce associations; interests always top priority, forget discussing emotions with them.

No matter how great the relationship seems, they might stab you in the back in a heartbeat due to interests, a common scenario.

"What's the compensation?" Duke asked, knowing his work doesn't come cheap.

"Fifty thousand Level 1 Magic Stones," Harrison stated.

"One hundred thousand."

"Eighty thousand, can't do more..."

"One hundred thousand, and it needs to be paid in Level 2 Magic Stones," Duke continued, knowing that discussing compensation requires avoiding emotional considerations, or you'd hurt your wallet.
