Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 232: The Secret of the Undying Body

Duke stood aside, carefully recalling the resurrection process he had just witnessed.

He found that the resurrection process was almost identical to the way players appeared in the Newbie Village, both were formed by a white energy, creating a flesh-and-blood living person.

"The creation of a flesh-and-blood body is relatively easy; many Bloodline Mages can achieve a similar level, but they cannot produce such a large scale in batches. So... where do these players' souls come from..."

Duke pondered, dividing the process he had just observed into two phases: one was the creation of a flesh-and-blood body, and the other was the process of soul infusion.

Through his interaction with Robert, he had already discovered that Robert had a soul within him, but the state seemed a bit strange, different from the normal state of a soul.

The specifics of the situation were not very clear to Duke; he was not an expert in Life Element or Soul Element magic, perhaps the Wizards from the Doomsday Bell might have more insights into this situation.

However, now they're far away from the Wizard Plane, it's impossible to find someone to ask for advice in the short term, so Duke could only explore himself.

Based on what Robert described, Duke could roughly infer what Robert's real-world environment was like.

It's a world of technological civilization, but the technology isn't very advanced.

It's not the Blue Planet from a previous life; this Duke learned through insinuations while talking to Robert. The history, culture, and other aspects are completely different from the past life, only the general structure is somewhat similar.

Duke then organized the information in his mind: "It seems now that these players, including Robert, exist in another Plane and project their souls into the Oracle Plane through a device called Game Helmet. The Oracle Plane quickly condenses a flesh-and-blood body using some technique to carry these souls from Other Planes."

"The reason these players have an Undying Body is entirely because their souls do not inherently exist in this Plane. As long as the soul is unharmed, no matter how many times the body dies, it can be resurrected again."

"But now it seems that resurrection also requires consuming resources, which might be why players need to spend money to resurrect."

"The higher the player's level, the more resources are needed to recombine their body, so the cost for players will be higher."

"The problem is, why does the money spent by players in Other Planes convert to resources in this Plane? How are the two connected, and what is the relationship between these two Planes?"

Duke's mind was rapidly cycling through various information, deducing some guesses from organizing these clues, but also gaining many new questions.

He increasingly realized that this Plane was far from simple as it appeared; the secrets behind it involved two Planes.

Duke knew that only the highest tier of elite in the Oracle Plane would likely understand the secrets behind all this.

He felt the Coordinates Earring on his left hand, which was still low on energy; it would take roughly another six months to fully charge it.

Once the energy is fully charged inside, he would be able to return to the Wood Elf Plane at any time, and through that Plane, back to the Wizard Plane.

This was the most conservative approach, but Duke had more ideas; he wanted to utilize potential resources from this Plane first.

If there's no immediate threat, he planned to use the next full energy charge to record the Oracle Plane's coordinates.

Then when the energy is full again, he can choose to return to the Wizard Plane, thus having the option to return to this Oracle Plane at any time.

If the Oracle Plane's coordinates aren't recorded, the chance of coming back to this Plane next time is almost zero.

In the Endless Plane, vast and boundless with countless Planes, finding the Oracle Plane in such a large area is almost impossible.

Duke had played many games in his previous lives, so he naturally understood what kind of group players are.

They possess an Undying Body and are also called the Fourth Calamity, showcasing powerful abilities.

Duke contemplated that if he could control this Plane, developing these players as his strength, it would be a great fortune.

These players are fearless, devoid of fear in their eyes.

To them, all of this is just a game, regardless of God or Demon; as long as there's a health bar, it's something that can be killed.

Coupled with the unlimited resurrection of the Undying Body, these players are simply a terrifying race in the Endless Plane.

Though they seem weak now, possessing only ordinary human strength.

But once they grow and become Level 1 Life, Level 2 Life, such an Undead Legion would be enough to instill fear across countless Planes.

For players, there's no unbeatable boss or dungeon without strategy, only a matter of time.

Considering this, Duke wasn't in a hurry to return to the Wood Elf Plane but planned to use the next energy charge to record this Plane's coordinates.

But ultimately, it depended on the situation; if there's a danger to his life, he would have to abandon this plan and return to the Wood Elf Plane first.

"This idea is good, but with current strength it's difficult to achieve. I still don't know the power level of this Plane; perhaps there are Divine-level beings watching over here, so I can't act recklessly."

Duke mused, his plan was naturally very ambitious, but it was also extremely difficult to achieve; how to make those players work for him was a huge challenge.

Players are the hardest to manage, they don't see you as a person, making it challenging to make them obey a person they view as an NPC.

"It's a pity I don't have the methods to master Slave Marks; otherwise, I could conduct some experiments..."

There are many techniques to place a Slave Mark on a life form; it can be directly applied through Magic, through Alchemy Creations, or by signing a Slave Contract.

But none of these were specifically studied by Duke previously; he only mastered one Slave Mark control symbol, recording the Slave Marks of Nina, Yala, and others.

The number of Slave Marks a person can simultaneously control is limited, related to the intensity of their Spiritual Power.

Duke could now control at most over a hundred slave creatures, but no more.

The slaves in the Black Sail Legion are controlled in another way, their Slave Marks are gathered in a special Witchcraft Artifact, usually controlled by the Legion Commander or another leading figure.
