Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 271: Meditation Technique Maxed Out Trait Extraction

Duke gradually began to experience resource scarcity and realized why so many Wizards are eager to participate in Plane wars.

As one's strength improves, the demand for resources increases, and most resources aren't easily obtained.

In such a situation, going to other Planes to plunder resources becomes the fastest way to accumulate and solidify one's foundation.

While pondering these issues, Duke was simultaneously working on improving his proficiency in Curse Magic.

During this process, the Skill Tree transmitted a message, and some changes were happening.

[Deep Blue Tide Meditation Technique level increased, Spirit +0.1, free attribute points +1]

[Deep Blue Tide Meditation Technique: LV17 (Talent: Trait Extraction)]

[Trait Extraction: You can use energy to ripen Trait Fruits, obtaining the knowledge and truth contained within them]

Duke discovered that while grinding Curse Magic, his Meditation Technique unknowingly reached its maximum level and gained a new talent.

On the Skill Tree, the fruit representing the Meditation Technique matured and fell, turning into pure energy that immersed his entire mind.

Some changes also occurred on the attribute panel of the Skill Tree.

[Constitution: 22.3]

[Strength: 23.2]

[Agility: 21.6]

[Spirit: 101.6]

[Free attribute points: 2]

[Energy: 0]

The attribute panel added an energy trait used for ripening Trait Fruits.

Duke used to grind many skills to their maximum level, and some would develop traits whose activation principles he didn't understand.

For example, the Automatic Meditation trait of the White Mist Forest Potion, which allows one to automatically enter a meditation state upon consumption, seemed quite magical.

Duke had no idea of the underlying principles and how this effect was achieved.

To generate this trait, it must be the White Mist Forest Potion that he personally refined.

Skill traits are such that they either work solely for him or require his personal refinement.

But now, with the Meditation Technique at its maximum level, he gained a talent for trait extraction, allowing Duke to convert these traits into knowledge that others can learn and utilize.

Upon gaining this talent, Duke immediately considered using this ability to earn money and acquire Arcane Master points.

Arcane Masters are crucial within the Wizard community, contributing significantly to the development and advancement of Wizard Civilization, driving its entire system forward.

Becoming an Arcane Master allows access to numerous rare resources and knowledge through Arcane Master channels.

To become an Arcane Master, one must earn Arcane Master points, which are exchanged through knowledge.

The evaluation standards for Arcane Master levels are very strict, requiring submission of knowledge or theories that contribute significantly, which the Arcane Master Association then assesses, awarding points accordingly.

Arcane Master level can only be applied for when a sufficient number of Arcane Master points are accumulated.

It's not enough to have enough Arcane Master points alone; one must undergo a review meeting organized by several Arcane Masters, answer questions, and based on these performances, the review committee concludes whether you pass or not.

The evaluation rules for Arcane Master levels have stringent standards, and every Wizard with the Arcane Master title is an undisputed scholar with profound knowledge.

If Duke remembers correctly, the standard for a Level 1 Arcanist is one hundred Arcane Master points, and upon accumulating one hundred points, one can apply for promotion to Level 1 Arcanist.

He's uncertain how much Arcane Master points the knowledge from these traits can be exchanged for.

Duke examined that the required energy points differ for various traits.

For instance, the Energy Absorption trait for the Water Shield Technique requires five energy points, which doesn't seem like much.

However, the Automatic Meditation trait requires a whole five hundred energy points, a vast difference.

Energy points are obtained straightforwardly by injecting energy into the Skill Tree, with various types of energy being applicable.

Duke attempted an infusion of Magic Power, discovering that even when injecting a third of his total Magic Power, not a single energy point was gained.

He realized that obtaining energy points may require higher-grade energy, and mere Magic Power likely needs a massive amount to exchange for a single energy point.

"Let's try the Power of Faith," Duke turned his attention to the Light God Court, where a considerable amount of Power of Faith was stored.

The Power of Faith certainly qualifies as high-grade energy, though its effectiveness is unknown.

Subsequently, Duke started absorbing the Power of Faith from the Light God Court, guiding it to the vicinity of the Skill Tree in his mind and injected it into the Skill Tree.

With the infusion of Power of Faith, the energy points indeed began to rise, although the rate was still not exceedingly fast.

The Power of Faith in the Light God Court wasn't vast, seemingly accumulated only after the Holy Daughter, Dali, brought it back into the statue initially.

Duke had consumed quite a bit over time, and the growth rate of Power of Faith wasn't quick either, resulting in limited inventory now.

Ultimately, it's still due to too few devoted Light believers in the Oracle Plane, causing slow accumulation of Power of Faith.

If more devoted believers could be developed, the Power of Faith within the Light God Court could increase more rapidly.

While Duke could choose to steal or plunder Power of Faith from other Gods, he's obviously not capable of such actions now, faced with high risks.

After injecting most of the Power of Faith from the Light God Court, he finally acquired three hundred energy points, insufficient to extract the Automatic Meditation trait.

Duke retained enough Power of Faith to fill the energy of the Coordinates Earring as required, always ready to ensure it can be refilled immediately.

Although three hundred energy points are not a lot, it'll suffice.

For now, he has no intention of extracting the Automatic Meditation trait since it's rather powerful.

Even if the trait is extracted and the corresponding knowledge obtained, Duke hesitates to sell this knowledge to a Commerce Association or submit it to the Arcane Master Association.

After all, the effects of Automatic Meditation are too potent for Wizards, causing considerable waves if released.

Unless absolutely necessary, he intends to enjoy it himself silently to avoid unnecessary trouble.

After deliberation, Duke extracted the Meditation Enhancement trait of the Starlight Meditation Potion, spending thirty energy points.

As a popular Potion, the Starlight Meditation Potion is favored by Wizard Apprentices.

Duke plans to test the effectiveness of trait extraction with this.
