Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 282: Auction House

Three days later, at the center of Glann Forest, inside the Jade Heart Auction House.

This auction house itself is a work of art.

It is constructed within the internal space of a Starlight Ancient Tree with a diameter of nearly a hundred meters.

The gigantic tree's core has been skillfully hollowed out and expanded, forming a spiral ascending amphitheater-like auction hall.

The dome is made of the ancient tree's natural leaves, emitting a gentle starlight, with light filtering down through layers of leaf pulp, as though being under a serene starry sky.

The air is filled with the unique woody fragrance of the ancient tree and a refreshing aroma that helps one focus their Spirit.

The auction house is packed; all kinds of Wizards occupy the tiered seats, some with formidable auras.

The box seats are concealed behind the vines and massive luminous flowers that encircle the tree wall, with only faint shadows visible, exuding mystery and prestige.

Duke, accompanied by Horn, the steward of the Giant Rock Commerce Association, sat in a decent regular seat reserved for the association.

It was quite close to the auction stage, allowing a clear view of the items on display.

Those sitting further back on the steps might only see the auction items the size of ants.

The auctioneer was an elegant Female Wizard with a voice as melodious as a flowing spring. She wore a red gown and stood on an auction stage made of giant luminous mushrooms, delivering her welcoming address.

Sitting on a chair made from green leaves, Duke felt very comfortable; the chair appeared quite peculiar.

Horn sat beside him. Although Duke had said there was no need for Horn to accompany him, as he didn't want to take up his time, Horn insisted on attending the auction with him.

The auctioneer's name was Zoe. Her spring-like voice echoed under the starlight-flowing dome, elegant and captivating.

Zoe first thanked the distinguished guests for attending, praised the connection between the Jade Heart Auction House and the Starlight Ancient Tree, and briefly introduced the highlights and rules of the auction.

Her voice seemed to have a peculiar rhythm, clearly reaching everyone's ears, even those seated at the highest seats, thanks to the skillful use of Amplification Magic.

This Amplification Magic delivered the voice to every guest's ear without being harsh or noisy, with a very gentle and perfectly balanced force.

"Now, let's welcome today's first auction item," Zoe smiled as an attendant in a gown woven from green vines stepped onto the mushroom stage with a tray covered in dark green velvet.

With a graceful wave, she lifted the velvet cloth.

On the tray lay a fist-sized, irregularly shaped amber, quietly resting.

Uniquely, this amber wasn't the usual golden color but a deep emerald, seemingly imbued with the vitality of the forest.

Inside the amber, a drop of thick, honey-like emerald liquid, emitting a faint fluorescence, was clearly visible. Around the liquid, strands of green energy flowed like living things.

"Sourced from the depths of Glann Forest, this Tree Spirit Condensed Dew from the core of a millennia-old tree can extend life by fifty years! Note, it is only effective for Life Levels below Level 3," Zoe introduced.

Horn raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised, "Didn't expect the first item to be Tree Spirit Condensed Dew. The output of this stuff is extremely rare. Silver Hand using this as the opener suggests that there are quite a few good things today."

"Tree Spirit Condensed Dew..." Duke murmured thoughtfully.

This was a rare material he hadn't previously known about, unexpectedly having life-extending properties, something very uncommon.

Though it only affects Life Levels below Level 3, that's not really a drawback. To most people, this limitation is nearly irrelevant.

The ineffectiveness of Tree Spirit Condensed Dew on Life Levels above Level 3 is entirely due to the high Life Level, which is beyond the influence of the Dew.

"Starting bid at fifty thousand Level 1 Magic Stones!" Zoe had just announced the price when someone immediately bid.

Behind the mushroom stage was a mirror-like screen, where the number soon jumped to eighty thousand, indicating a bid had been placed.

Duke glanced at the translucent, jade-like leaf in his hand. This leaf, carved like jade, was the bidding device. By inputting a price into it with Spiritual Power, one could participate in bidding.

Each leaf is bound to personal identity information, so there's no need to worry about fraudulent bidding.

After all, this is a sub-plane of the Silver Hand, with the entire plane under their control.

If anyone causes trouble here, escaping from the plane would be very difficult unless they have something like Duke's Coordinates Earring.

Duke watched as the stage's price soared, quickly reaching over eight hundred thousand Level 1 Magic Stones in the blink of an eye.

It seems such life-extending items are popular, especially for those Wizards close to the end of their lifespan and not yet advanced, making Tree Spirit Condensed Dew even more significant.

Fifty years may not be long for a Wizard, but those additional years could provide the chance to ascend to a higher level, as many are just one step away from advancement.

For these Wizards, Tree Spirit Condensed Dew is an item they must acquire when available, as it relates to both life and advancement.

If not for the limitation of one-time use for the Dew, preventing any effect from subsequent consumption, the price would be even higher.

Duke had only recently advanced to Level 1 Mage, with over four hundred years of lifespan remaining, so he didn't need this item.

In this short time, the price of Tree Spirit Condensed Dew had already broken through to 1.5 million Level 1 Magic Stones.

At this point, the numerical display in the mirror slowed down, and each increase wasn't very large.

For most Wizards, such a price was becoming somewhat unbearable.

Zoe, seeing the price remain at 1.7 million Magic Stones for a while, brought out a small hourglass and placed it on the small table in front of her, saying, "From now, an hourglass' time; if no guest continues to bid, the bidding for this Tree Spirit Condensed Dew will end."

The subsequent moment was short and silent, with the auction hall filled with low murmurs, many curious about who had purchased the item.

However, due to the special bidding method, they couldn't know the bidder's identity, or even whether the person was seated in the tiered hall or in an upper box.

Ultimately, this Tree Spirit Condensed Dew was sold for 1.7 million Level 1 Magic Stones.

Duke couldn't help but marvel; these Wizards truly have wealth, but most Wizards who reach the Flower Sea Plane do have some disposable income.
