Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 288: Void Corridor

"I will need more crystal cores," Duke thought for a moment and said, without specifying which attributes of crystal cores he needed.

Vivian said, "I'll keep an eye out for you. Thorn Holy Tower also has quite a few channels to acquire them."

"Vivian, you don't need to help me. Your cultivation over there isn't easy either, and crystal cores are too expensive," Duke said, aware that Vivian had just been promoted to an Official Wizard, which had consumed many resources, leaving her in a somewhat resource-deficient state.

Even with Grace's support, she couldn't entirely rely on Grace for her livelihood.

"It's fine, it'll be a long time before I advance to a Crystalized Wizard, so I don't need them for now. Anyway, if there's any news, I'll let you know," Vivian said.

Duke said, "If you need magic stones or magic potion resources on your side, just let me know. I've already established some cooperation with the Giant Rock Commerce Association, and I can earn quite a lot of magic stones in the future..."

...

It's actually not easy for either of them; they are currently both in a state where resources are a bit tight.

During their time as Wizard Apprentices, this wasn't very noticeable. The resources used then weren't very valuable, so the impact wasn't very significant.

But as Official Wizards, both Duke and Vivian have come to realize the importance of resources, especially since Duke now needs so many crystal cores.

Even with three million Level 1 Magic Stones on hand, it's still not enough.

Previously, they thought such a large amount of magic stones was astronomical, but as their strength levels increased, their demand for resources also escalated significantly.

Duke had just finished chatting with Vivian when he received a message from Merrick.

"Duke, the rumored Void Corridor is going to open in two months. You should be preparing crystal cores for your advancement to a Crystalized Wizard as well. If you're interested, you can join," Merrick said.

"What is the Void Corridor?" Duke asked.

Merrick paused for a moment and then replied, "You don't even know about this? The Black Sail should be announcing notifications soon..."

After Merrick detailed it, Duke finally understood what the Void Corridor was.

Essentially, the Void Corridor is a broken plane, reportedly a small plane formed from fragments of a High Plane.

When the Wizard Plane discovered it, the Void Corridor was still a fragment filled with violent forces, capable of easily killing a Level 3 Wizard.

Wizards studied it and found it likely had experienced a catastrophic war before, leading to the shattering of a High Plane.

The Wizard Plane remains just a Middle Plane, and they can't imagine what kind of war could have shattered a High Plane.

The Void Corridor took a long time to stabilize, forming a unique small plane filled with rare resources.

Due to its unique environment, the Void Plane can produce many high-value resources that simply need time to nurture.

It was discovered by multiple forces within the Wizard Plane, so it wasn't allocated to any single power, but shared among the Wizard Plane collectively.

The highest organization of Wizard Plane, the Wizard Council, designated it as a special plane for all to share, allowing various forces to obtain opportunities to enter the Void Corridor through various means.

For example, each Wizard Organization gets a number of slots, which are then distributed among members in various ways.

At Black Sail, one could exchange high contributions for slots to enter the Void Corridor and obtain resources.

These are the regular chances to enter the Void Corridor, and there is another way, which is that every hundred years, the Void Corridor opens, allowing only Level 1 Mages to enter.

This is a benefit opened by the Wizard Council to cultivate new forces within the Wizard Plane, where all Level 1 Mages, regardless of their affiliation, may enter as long as they register.

For over a thousand years, the Void Corridor has opened this way every hundred years, attracting many wizards to enter.

But due to so many interests at stake, almost no wizard force actively publicizes it, only internally notifying close to the opening and absolutely not promoting it externally.

Of course, they don't want too many wizards entering, as more entrants would mean fewer resources for their own.

So over the years, the Void Corridor has, instead, become a tacit secret among all forces.

Those wizards not affiliated with Wizard Organizations are generally unaware of the Void Corridor's existence, except for some rumors that leak out near the opening period.

Merrick, being a student of Master Land, was naturally aware of this for a long time.

But no one in Duke's circle knew, and without Merrick telling him, Duke probably still wouldn't know.

According to Merrick, one can easily find crystal cores of various attributes in the Void Corridor, making it a perfect opportunity for someone like Duke who is preparing to become a Crystalized Wizard.

It only opens once every hundred years. If missed, one must either wait another hundred years or spend a lot of contributions to get another chance to enter the Void Corridor.

Upon learning about the Void Corridor, Duke wasn't thinking about seizing the opportunity to acquire crystal cores; he was pondering one question: "Is it possible to record the coordinates of the Void Corridor plane?"

Upon having this idea, he really wanted to experiment with it.

If he could indeed record the Void Corridor's coordinates, then wouldn't he be able to go whenever he wants?

But whether this idea is feasible remains uncertain, as the Void Corridor is rather special and not a complete plane, which might prevent recording its coordinates.

Another issue is he doesn't know if anyone is constantly monitoring the Void Corridor.

If someone constantly observes the Void Corridor's circumstances, then sneaking in would reveal not only his actions but also the existence of the Coordinates Earring.

The risk is there, but if the plan can be executed, the reward would be substantial.

Others might not have many chances to enter the Void Corridor, but Duke might frequently get the opportunity.

Having decided this, Duke planned to go and check out the Void Corridor, to attempt recording its coordinates, and also to determine if anyone is always watching it.

"If you're interested, we can go in together then," Merrick said.

Inside the Void Corridor, there remain numerous dangers; besides the inherent environmental threats, other wizards entering could also become potential threats.
