Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 365: Light Judgment

A massive, solid burst of blinding white light surged out from the sword tip like the Celestial God's Spear.

It was no longer a simple energy beam but a pillar of light infused with terrifying purification and destruction power, with a core exuding a near-golden, deeper, and more majestic glow, as if it bore some absolute will.

The beam tore through the air instantly, striking precisely at the calm sea surface below.

Instead of the anticipated explosive roar, the sea seemed to be crushed by an invisible giant hand, forming a massive depression dozens of meters in diameter.

The surrounding seawater didn't have time to pour back before it was vaporized by indescribable heat and energy, turning into billowing white steam that rose like detonating tons of explosives.

Then came the deafening roar, as if tearing the sky, the horrifying howl of water being torn, evaporated, and displaced by ultimate force.

A golden-white holy flame sphere frantically expanded at the sea depression, purifying and annihilating every bit of seawater it touched.

The dissipating shockwave spread in a perfect ring across the sea surface, raising a giant wall of waves over ten meters high, roaring towards the distance.

The intense light dimmed the sun in the sky, a scorching wind mixed with salty sea vapor surged forward, and even at a high altitude, Duke could feel the residual destructive force.

A few seconds later, the core's light began to weaken, and the roar was gradually replaced by the massive crashing sound of waves.

The directly hit sea area revealed a transient, massive void, with the surrounding water madly rushing back in, emitting thunderous roars and forming violent whirlpools and chaotic tides.

In the hollow's center, the seawater seemed to have been evaporated to a deep layer, and faintly visible were deep-sea reefs scorched into glazed formations, soon submerged again by the surging waters.

The sea surface was shrouded in thick, scalding white steam that lingered, with the air filled with the salty taste of evaporated seawater and an oddly fresh scent, like the clear sky after a storm.

"The intensity must have exceeded two hundred degrees, already comparable to a strike from a Second-level Wizard." Duke quickly assessed the strength of the Light Judgment as he gazed at the steaming sea ahead.

Even though he infused half of his magic power into it, it was still exceedingly powerful.

A Level 1 Mage could scarcely exhibit such high-intensity means, and even formidable Level 1 Liquidation Wizards could barely achieve just over a hundred degrees.

Comparatively powerful Crystalized Wizards might reach over a hundred degrees with their magic, but surpassing one hundred fifty degrees was rare.

Two hundred degrees falls entirely within the scope of a Second-level Wizard, capable of a swift strike against all Level 1 Mages.

Duke now needed to gather all the metallic yellow sand and continuously infuse it with magic power to form a defensive fortress, which might block such a strike.

However, it would also consume many metallic yellow sands, making it difficult to withstand a second strike.

Duke could feel that the Blazing Sun Judgment nearly drained all surrounding light attribute energy particles, producing such an effect by combining with his magic power.

Having this technique now essentially gave him a powerful killing move.

The only drawback was the slow energy charge, which, although only a few seconds, was lengthy in the context of Level 1 Mage combat.

This was also because Duke's current power was too weak; if a Second-level Wizard used this witchcraft artifact, it would be entirely different.

A Second-level Wizard using the Light Judgment, with a high light attribute affinity, could nearly instantaneously perform the previous Light Judgment, and with higher intensity.

Such speed and strength are absolutely beyond a Level 1 Mage's capacity to handle.

While Duke's Light Judgment had adequate strength, the speed was insufficient, allowing the opponent some reaction time, not as immediate.

On the distant deserted island, a group of Wood Elves knelt fully naked at the island's edge, repeatedly bowing to Duke.

The earlier commotion was so immense that waves even crashed onto the island.

They were utterly awed by the earth-shattering sound and light, witnessing what seemed like divine retribution between the sea and sky—towering waves, billowing steam, and even from afar, feeling the soul-quivering pure yet destructive energy waves.

Duke hovered between the azure sky and the still-unsettled sea, becoming the sole focus of heaven and earth at that moment.

Although the Blazing Sun Judgment had withdrawn its radiance, the sword's liquid light still emitted a gentle, sacred halo, casting a faint golden edge around him.

The pair of Bright Wings made purely of light energy behind him weren't fully retracted but gently flapped in a solemn, soothing rhythm, scattering countless tiny, crystalline light specks with each flutter as if causing a miniature rain of stars.

In the eyes of the Wood Elves, Duke appeared akin to a God descending upon them.

After completing the Blazing Sun Judgment test, Duke was satisfied with this second-level witchcraft artifact, with its only shortcoming being a bit flamboyant.

Returning to the island, he glanced at the nude Wood Elves still bowing to him and said, "Disperse, nothing's wrong."

Only then did the Wood Elves cease their reverence, looking at Duke with eyes full of awe and frenzy, with some more flirtatious elves deliberately highlighting their impressive figures.

Yet, Duke ignored them entirely; he had no such inclination now, despite being alone on the deserted island, able to do as he pleased.

He strapped the Blazing Sun Judgment to his back and then took out the third second-level witchcraft artifact, the Annihilation Holy Nail.

The Annihilation Holy Nail looked ordinary, feeling cold in his hand.

Upon closer inspection, a sense of coldness emanated from within, a keen instinctive perception of danger.

This meant that the Annihilation Holy Nail posed a great threat to Duke, causing his body to unconsciously emit pre-warnings.

The intensity of the Annihilation Holy Nail was unknown and couldn't be tested, as it was a disposable item, used once and gone.

However, it was certain that the strength of the Annihilation Holy Nail was related to the target's spiritual power and soul strength.

The stronger the opponent's spiritual power and soul, the more destructive the Annihilation Holy Nail could be.

However, this also had limitations; if the opponent's power exceeded second-level, the Annihilation Holy Nail would be hard-pressed to be effective.

Even against some more formidable, well-defended Second-level Wizards, the Annihilation Holy Nail would typically struggle to hit, needing the right timing to strike.
