Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 374: Light God Ruins

After Dali obtained the Space Ring, she quickly learned how to use it. Upon seeing the various Demonized Items and Magic Potions inside, she showed a look of surprise.

Previously, Duke gave Robert only one batch of supplies; he specifically reserved a batch for the Light Sect.

"Thank you, Duke!" The Holy Daughter Dali hurriedly bowed in salute, as the girl's valleys began to reveal their outline.

Duke smiled slightly, turned, and walked out of the Divine Hall, with sunlight pouring over him, stretching his shadow long.

After leaving the Divine Hall of Light, Duke headed straight to the Star Embers Guild headquarters in Azure Vault City.

Over the past year, Robert evidently invested quite a bit of capital, and the guild headquarters had become a considerable complex, with players even guarding the entrance.

The players at the entrance clearly didn't know Duke, nor had Duke seen them before, but this did not affect them from noticing Duke's bright question mark level above.

They immediately understood he was not someone to be trifled with, and when they saw Duke heading in their direction, they asked, "Is there anything we can do for you, sir?"

"I'm here to find Robert." Duke replied.

The players at the entrance realizing it was to see the guild leader, immediately knew this might be an NPC with some connection to him; possibly for something important, hence dared not delay or be negligent.

"Please wait a moment, sir, I'll go and inform him immediately." The guard at the entrance said with great respect.

Duke nodded, not in a hurry, waiting at the entrance, and shortly Robert came out.

He had already guessed it was Duke, and said to the player beside him: "From now on, no need to inform when Duke comes; there's nowhere here he cannot go."

The players beside, a bit shocked, didn't expect this NPC to hold such high status, and for their guild leader to respond in such a manner.

Robert then led Duke into the guild headquarters, which was professionally organized inside; players in different areas performed their respective duties, some sorting equipment, discussing tactics, or practicing combat techniques.

As Duke passed by, many players gave curious looks, some had seen Duke before, feeling a bit surprised upon seeing him now.

"Duke, what brings you here? Let's talk in the meeting room." Robert asked curiously.

The meeting room was filled with various maps and documents, clearly Robert was dealing with guild affairs.

He quickly cleared a chair for Duke, respectfully standing aside himself.

"I have a task for you," Duke stated straightforwardly, "I need you to organize personnel to investigate some locations."

Robert immediately straightened up: "Please instruct, I'll arrange immediately."

Duke took from his pocket information from Dali about the ruins, spreading it on the table: "These are the locations I've received that potentially contain the Light God Ruins, a total of twenty-three places. I need you to send people to each for investigation, recording specific conditions there, especially noting any abnormal energy fluctuations or special areas."

Robert carefully reviewed the marked positions on the map and agreed without hesitation: "No problem, I'll organize personnel to go to these locations immediately for investigation."

He took a pen from the table and quickly made some marks on the ruins map: "Among these locations, seven or eight are near areas our guild players have previously explored, being familiar with the terrain. I'll prioritize sending these teams out, expecting initial feedback within three days."

Robert handled matters very efficiently and systematically, quickly planning the tasks Duke had instructed, intending to shortly assign each player their respective tasks.

He was very focused on Duke's arrangement, assigning personnel who were under labor contracts among the core members, all of whom were proficient experts in terms of strength and various aspects.

Duke watched Robert efficiently and quickly organize the tasks, this real-life second-generation wealthy individual displayed excellent organizational abilities in the game, truly a rare talent.

Robert called in three core members; they were professional players under labor contracts, all at level 15 or above, considered elites in the guild.

"Hans, you lead a team north to Ice Wind Valley, investigating these three marked locations. The environment here is rather cold, prepare beforehand." Robert pointed at the map's marks.

"Understood, guild leader." Warrior player named Hans immediately responded, "I'll go select team members and prepare cold-resistant gear and supplies."

...

With Robert's orders being issued, Star Embers players split into multiple teams setting off consecutively, with high efficiency.

After organizing matters there, Duke didn't linger further, returning to his small Magic Potion Shop.

The sunset's afterglow shone warmly through the window lattice across the room.

He sat beside the table in the yard, took out a small booklet obtained from the Holy Daughter Dali, containing twelve Level 1 Magic Spells.

The twelve Level 1 Magic Spells were neatly arranged on yellowed sheepskin paper, each spell accompanied by simple illustrations and annotations.

Touch of Light, Holy Glow, Purification Technique, Light Arrow, Holy Shield...

These were magic from the Light Sect, covering healing, defense, attack, and support among various aspects.

Duke carefully read the descriptions of each spell, unconsciously tapping his fingers lightly on the table, contemplating which spell to start with.

For him, choosing a spell easier to grind proficiency with was certainly the priority.

Level 1 magic spells were much stronger than secondary spells; those like Touch of Light, Light Arrow — the movement caused wasn't small, not very suitable for frequent casting.

Duke thought for a while, and chose the Holy Shield spell.

The reason for choosing this spell was quite practical; compared to offensive spells, practicing defensive spells was more discreet, wouldn't create too much commotion attracting attention.

Moreover, shield-type spells could advance proficiency through continued maintenance, with greater efficiency.

Duke studied the spell structure and casting essentials carefully; the Holy Shield spell consisted of nine syllables, requiring a specific breathing rhythm and gestures for collaboration.

When casting, spiritual power must be guided around oneself, forming a layer of uniform energy field.

He first silently recited the spell several times to familiarize with each syllable's transitions and connections.

Then he began trying low chanting while tracing a circular trajectory in front of his chest with both hands, symbolizing the shield's completeness.

Duke's affinity with the Light Attribute was extremely high, easily communicating with surrounding Light Elemental Energy Particles, forming a thin energy shield around his body.

[Holy Shield: LV1 (1/100)]

On the Skill Tree, the corresponding branch also grew out.

Throughout the sustainment of the Holy Shield, proficiency would grow gradually, approximately increasing by one point every three minutes of maintenance.

But this was too slow for Duke; repetitively casting the spell would be better, although consuming much more Magic Power.
