Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 410: Apostle

"Boom!!!"

With the launch of hundreds of giant magic-guided cannons, the earth-shattering roar seemed to explode directly in everyone's ears, even from such a distance.

The entire Iron Curtain Wall shook violently, and an unimaginable explosion occurred within the breach.

Visible shockwaves erupted from the breach, instantly pulverizing everything nearby, whether defenders or slave creatures, into dust.

Massive clouds of smoke and fiery mushroom clouds rose into the sky, as if the gates of hell had opened on earth.

It wasn't over yet, as the main cannons of three destroyer-class battleships above the clouds completed their final charge.

Three thick, mountain-like azure energy beams descended from the sky with divine retribution, silent yet as fast as lightning, precisely hitting sections of the Iron Curtain Wall where defensive runes were most concentrated and where the command nodes of the defending forces might be located.

There were no deafening explosions, only a strange sound of matter being forcibly disintegrated and annihilated, making one's teeth ache.

Those sections of the wall, along with all the defenders, fortifications, and demons on them, vanished silently and completely as if erased by a rubber eraser.

No debris, no explosions, only a smooth, mirror-like gigantic fracture that had been vitrified by extreme heat remained.

This unimaginable and terrifying firepower utterly destroyed the last resistance of the Toulouse defenders, plunging the remaining defenders into great confusion and panic.

Seizing this opportunity, a new wave of the United Legion's slave creature legion, even larger in number and mixed with some colossal high-level demons and war beasts designed as the main attacking force, launched an unstoppable final charge like a flood bursting a dam towards the already shattered Iron Curtain Great Wall that had lost most of its defensive capacity.

A deathly silence fell over the observation post, as everyone was so stunned by the apocalyptic scene that they were speechless.

Even though they were at least Level 1 Mages, they still felt immensely insignificant in the face of such destructive power.

Just as the Iron Curtain Great Wall's defense line was about to completely collapse, a roar from the depths of the Toulouse domain, as if from ancient times, shattered the battlefield's clamor.

This roar wasn't transmitted through the air but directly shook everyone's bones and souls.

The sound seemed to reverberate and resonate within every living being on the battlefield, abruptly halting many of the slave creatures in their tracks.

Their bodies temporarily could not move, completely intimidated by this roar.

Immediately after, an unimaginably gigantic figure rose from the rear of the defense line.

It wasn't flying in the traditional sense, but the very earth itself was supporting its king.

Countless gigantic rocks, molten iron, remnants of fallen warriors' weapons, and even the corpses of dead demons gathered, compressed, and reshaped as if attracted by an invisible gravity.

In the blink of an eye, a rock and lava giant, almost as tall as the destroyer battleships above the clouds, took shape.

This was not a crude creation; its body was made mostly of cooled black basalt, with joints and cores surging with fiery, glowing orange-red lava like flowing blood.

The Magma Giant's face was indistinct, with only two giant cavities burning with blinding light akin to miniature suns.

In its right hand, it held a hundred-meter-long giant sword, formed by compressing and reshaping an entire section of the wall that burned with raging flames, and in its left hand was an enormous tower shield bristling with spikes forged from countless metal debris and demon armor forcibly melded together.

This was the lord of the Toulouse domain, an Apostle-tier Awakened being stepping into Level 3 Life tier.

In fact, the moment the Iron Curtain Wall was breached, it essentially signified the fall of the Toulouse domain.

Even though that day hadn't yet come, the area of the Toulouse domain was vast.

But with the Iron Curtain Wall already breached, the fall of the Toulouse domain was only a matter of time.

The old lord couldn't possibly be unaware of this; staying wouldn't hold much meaning, and the more rational course of action would be to retreat immediately and devise a plan later.

But the old lord stayed, transforming into a massive Magma Giant to fight to the death.

The Magma Giant let out an earth-shattering roar, its sound waves spreading like a tangible shockwave, turning any low-flying slave creatures nearby into dust instantly.

Its giant blazing eyes immediately locked onto one of the destroyer battleships above the clouds, and with no fancy movements, its right arm powered by mountain-like muscles swung the flaming giant sword forcefully.

The speed of this swing was utterly incongruent with its size, as quick as a lightning flash.

The giant sword tore through the air, leaving a terrifying flamelike trail several kilometers long, like a whip of fire wielded by a deity, viciously striking the battleship.

The deafening clash resounded through the heavens and earth as the giant sword solidly struck the battleship's united shield.

The shield, strong enough to withstand a full-force strike from a Level 3 Mage, emitted a toothache-inducing cracking sound, its light flickering unstably.

The massive battleship was severely tilted by the terrifying power of pure physical and elemental combination, with its outer armor producing an ear-piercing metallic distortion sound, revealing visible dents and cracks.

But that was all; the destroyer battleship's structure remained unscathed, with only some damage to its exterior.

The destroyer battleship immediately retaliated, with dozens of secondary cannons on its broadside firing simultaneously, unleashing countless energy beams like a swarm of angry hornets toward the Magma Giant.

The Magma Giant remained unfazed, planting the enormous spiked tower shield heavily on the ground before it.

The tower shield struck the battlefield heavily, causing the ground around it to tremble.

Countless energy beams bombarded the tower shield, resulting in continuous explosions.

The surface of the shield was shattered with flying stones, lava flowing, but its thickness and the contained earth-element energy were too immense, managing to withstand the wave of saturation attacks.

Only a few beams bypassed the shield, striking the giant's body and leaving lava crater holes, but for its mountainous size, it was as if mere mosquito bites.

Meanwhile, the main cannons of the other two destroyer battleships completed their charge once again, their azure deathly glow locking onto the Magma Giant.

The Magma Giant seemed to feel the threat, roaring in defiance, its gigantic left foot stomping heavily on the ground.

Centered on its foot, the earth in front of it for several kilometers abruptly lifted like a carpet.

Massive rock layers and soil, several dozen meters thick, were forcefully sculpted by an unimaginable great force into a colossal, immensely thick stone wall, rising abruptly to block the path of those two beams.
