Martial Artist: Stronger by Coasting Along

Chapter 5: Beating Up Ye Chen Together Godly Tycoon Awakens

Ye Chen felt a sharp pain in his chest.

Zhang Lingfeng's remark, "I can finally go home and play games," sounded to him like mockery, blatantly implying that beating someone like him didn't require serious cultivation; even playing games all day could easily defeat him.

"Don't be too arrogant, I'm telling you, I..."

Ye Chen couldn't hold back from retorting.

"What games are you playing? Do you really think you can defeat everyone like you beat Ye Chen? If you don't cultivate seriously, you'll only ever beat people like Ye Chen!"

However, before he could finish, Wang Dashan, who had come to his senses, quickly interrupted him, shouting angrily at Zhang Lingfeng.

He never expected that even Ye Chen couldn't match Zhang Lingfeng, who effortlessly handled him. Seeing Zhang Lingfeng's smug grin, claiming he can finally go home and play games, Wang Dashan worried Zhang Lingfeng would become reckless, thinking there were no rivals in the world, and that he wouldn't need to cultivate seriously against anyone he faced, relying solely on talent to defeat opponents.

Once such seeds take root and sprout in Zhang Lingfeng, he'll be thoroughly ruined.

"You..."

Ye Chen's face turned red with embarrassment; Wang Dashan's words hit harder than Zhang Lingfeng's.

"Principal Wang is right, people need ambition. Don't think winning against small fry makes you invincible, disregarding everyone else. Remember, humanity's survival is precarious. Even if you beat Ye Chen, do you think future opponents will be as weak as Ye Chen?"

Yan Fei chimed in agreeably.

Both men had a straightforward goal: to steer Zhang Lingfeng's mindset back on track, making sure he doesn't think he's exceptional enough to coast along, wasting time and cultivation talent by playing games and goofing off daily.

"Small fry, Teacher Yan, you..."

Ye Chen's expression oscillated between blue and white, realizing he'd been reduced to "small fry."

"Initially, we agreed if I beat him, you'd let me return to gaming, no longer interfering with my cultivation."

Zhang Lingfeng argued reasonably.

"Is beating him a big deal?"

Yan Fei sneered.

"Bam!"

Suddenly, a slap was delivered.

Ye Chen flew straight out, crashing into the Cultivation Room's wall.

Yan Fei raised his hand and said, "Look, I can knock him away with a slap. Does that mean I don't need to cultivate and can play games all day?"

"Teacher Yan, what are you doing..."

Ye Chen twisted, Yan Fei's slap was heavy-handed, and his cheek burned painfully.

But before he could finish, a foot came flying, kicking him on his rear, sending him from east to west.

Wang Dashan stood in Ye Chen's original spot, earnestly asking, "I can kick him away with one kick, does that mean I don't need cultivation?"

"Oh dear, I'm going to tell my mom."

Ye Chen rubbed his backside, flushed as he got up speaking.

He was promptly seized by Yan Fei, who grabbed his hair, dragging him in front of Zhang Lingfeng, hitting his belly while telling Zhang Lingfeng, "See, he's powerless in my hands."

"Bam!"

"Ah!"

"Bam!"

"Ah!"

"Bam!"

"Ah!"

With each punch, Ye Chen cried out in agony.

Initially, Yan Fei hadn't used much force, but thinking of how worthless Ye Chen seemed, he feared if Zhang Lingfeng decided to coast along completely, playing games instead of cultivating, how could he answer to the Seven Great Star Systems Alliance?

So as he grew angrier, he gradually increased the power.

Thus, amid Ye Chen's wailing, he intermittently spewed water and food.

The meals were excellent, proving worthy of a pharmacist's son, consisting of vegetables and meat.

"His level, placed on the frontline, could even be handled by little sprites. Even if you beat him, there's nothing to brag about."

Wang Dashan grabbed Ye Chen from Yan Fei's grip, pressed him to the ground, held him by his hair, and repeatedly bounced his head off the floor like dribbling a basketball.

"Mom, Dad! Ahhh, you're too much."

Ye Chen flailed like an octopus, sprawled on the ground waving his limbs.

His combat power might be outstanding among Martial Dao students, but in Yan Fei and Wang Dashan's hands, he was utterly helpless.

"See, when bullied outside, his only recourse is to run home. Even if you beat him, so what?"

Yan Fei stepped forward, kicking Ye Chen in the stomach.

Ye Chen curled up like a prawn, vomiting dinner from the night before.

"Uh... I just want to play games properly."

Zhang Lingfeng said innocently.

"You can't afford to play!"

Wang Dashan once again grabbed Ye Chen's head, forcefully bouncing it off the floor.

"I can afford to play."

Zhang Lingfeng said firmly.

"I said, you can't afford to play!"

Enraged, Wang Dashan flipped Ye Chen over, hammering his chest with a fist.

Ye Chen's body stiffened, tongue lolling out, face turning red, eyes wide open, extending his hands, and said struggling to Zhang Lingfeng, "Please, stop playing."

"Beating you meant I could play games, that's what we originally agreed, right?"

Zhang Lingfeng wouldn't easily give in.

Especially if it meant giving up games.

"Beating a waste makes you want to play games. What if you beat a genius, then what?"

Yan Fei shouted angrily.

"He's not a waste, he's a genius."

Zhang Lingfeng could clearly see if Ye Chen was a genius or waste; his combat power was stronger than Lian Junmiao, a senior Martial Dao student—how could he be a waste?

Yan Fei and Wang Dashan stayed silent, both looking at Ye Chen.

Ye Chen, bruised and battered, lay on the ground, crying out desperately, "I'm a waste, I'm not a genius, please stop playing games, I beg you!"

Finally, he truly believed that Zhang Lingfeng hadn't seriously cultivated.

Yan Fei and Wang Dashan switched their gaze back to Zhang Lingfeng.
