Feng Mu let out a sound of surprise, not understanding where he had given himself away.
He humbly inquired, "How did you figure it out, could you tell me?"
The receiver looked down at the headless corpse of the Black Number Two lying in the mud. Perhaps, thinking that he was about to die, he had nothing to hide.
Maybe, he wanted to expose Feng Mu's true nature before dying, to prove that he wasn't completely clueless, at least different from the brainless idiot on the ground, making him feel a bit better.
In any case,
he candidly answered Feng Mu's questions.
"The Puppet Mother and her enslaved minions are fallen heretical scum. However, while they desecrate the living, they never disrespect corpses."
The receiver paused for a moment, pointed to the body of Black Number Two, and said solemnly,
"They wouldn't crush a person's head. They cherish the bodies of the living, especially the heads, because without a head, they can't be made into a Human Puppet."
Feng Mu scratched the center of his goat mask's brow, earnestly expressing his gratitude, "Thank you for enlightening me, I will request my senior brother to leave your head intact later."
The receiver let out a cold laugh, showing outright disdain for Feng Mu's feigned kindness.
He refused, "No, I ask you to destroy my body later, to prevent it from being stolen by the Puppet Mother's scum or being called away by those Corpse Recovery Men from the Ghost Radio Station."
"Ghost Radio Station, Corpse Recovery Men?" Feng Mu felt a jolt in his heart, once again hearing some strange terms.
He was now increasingly certain that behind this seemingly scientific city of reinforced concrete, lay hidden a vast and mysterious shadow.
He carefully observed the receiver's expression, noting that when he mentioned the Puppet Mother, a strong disgust flickered in his eyes; while talking about the Corpse Recovery Men, his eyes were filled with apprehension and deep fear.
"I can tell, you'd rather be made into a Human Puppet by the Puppet Mother than be called away by the Corpse Recovery Men."
Feng Mu chuckled lightly, but seeing the receiver simply smirk, showing no intention to delve deeper, he did not pursue the matter intensely.
He was never a curious person, as long as it didn't concern him, he could pretend it didn't exist.
Meanwhile, Snake Face twisted its neck slightly, seemingly interested in the story from the receiver's mouth.
"It's a pity that this [team building] was initiated by junior brother, I can't usurp his role, otherwise I would certainly have this person spill all the secrets he holds."
Gong Qi thought to himself, he was always the most inquisitive among the brothers, the one who loved to dig for answers.
"Alright then, since you requested so, I will handle your body appropriately." Feng Mu readily agreed to the receiver's request.
In some senses, he was quite agreeable, especially towards those about to die, he bore an exceptionally broad heart, always able to offer understanding and sympathy.
Snake-faced Gong Qi sighed regretfully under his breath, thinking that the junior brother was still too kind, and that wasn't a good thing, he ought to change that in the future.
The receiver fell silent for two seconds, then spoke again, "So, Feng Yuhuai wasn't rescued by someone you sent, but Feng Yuhuai was the one favored and chosen by the Puppet Mother?"
Feng Mu shrugged his shoulders, remaining silent.
The receiver spoke again, "So, I haven't uncovered your secret at all, I've only unearthed your sister's secrets?"
Feng Mu pondered for three seconds, sighed, and said, "You are being a bit obtuse, I am Feng Yuhuai's brother, digging into her secrets is the same as digging into mine, is there any difference?"
The receiver froze for a moment, seemingly coming to a realization of the deeper meaning in Feng Mu's words. His disfigured face twisted into extreme delirium beneath the goat mask.
"Wrong, wrong, I was terribly wrong."
"You didn't stage this yourself just to wound Feng Ju, this wasn't an act, you truly struck with intent to kill."
"You didn't rescue Feng Yuhuai either, nor would you ever rescue Feng Yuhuai. If I sent that email out, and the people from the sect truly came for Feng Yuhuai, not only wouldn't you save her, you'd watch the spectacle from the shadows, using your sister as bait!"
"And if this truly led to a clash between the Puppet Mother and the Calamity Corpse Sect, you'd probably laugh yourself awake in your dreams."
"Hahaha, you truly are a good son to your father, a good brother to your sister, hahaha—"
The receiver laughed manically, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes.
"I was wrong, all wrong, I am just a fool deceived by you, no no no, not only me, your father must have been deceived by you too, as well as your sister."
"I was deceived by you, so I died without grievance, then what about your father and sister, when do you plan to send them down to accompany me?"
"When the time comes, I must have a good chat with them."
Feng Mu wasn't angered by the receiver's sarcasm, he calmly opened his laptop, turned the screen towards the receiver, and earnestly said,
"The words you just wrote in black and white, how can you deny them?"
The receiver stared intently at Feng Mu, as if already guessing what Feng Mu was about to do.
He sneered, "You're going to send that email out, you're indeed using Feng Yuhuai to shield yourself from disaster."
Feng Mu shook his head, typed on the keyboard, making some slight tweaks to the email, while saying in a faint voice,
"You guessed wrong again, I am indeed using Feng Yuhuai to attract the fire from the Calamity Corpse Sect, but that is not called shielding from disaster, a family how can it be called shielding, it's called helping her grow."
Snake-faced Gong Qi, listening on the side, felt perplexed, itching with curiosity.
He walked over to help Feng Mu steady the laptop, unable to resist glancing at the screen, but eventually restrained himself.
Under the goat mask, Feng Mu softly chuckled, "Senior brother, if you wish to see, then look, since I've joined us as a family, we're closer than blood relations, there's no need for secrets among family members."
Actually, Feng Mu felt that rather than having everyone listening confused and guessing afterwards, it was better to let them see clearly.
After all, they've participated in the [team building], hiding the secrets wouldn't feel good.
Besides, the secret in this email wasn't truly his secret, revealing some unimportant information to gain the trust of the sect seemed a fair trade.
Furthermore, in using Feng Yuhuai as bait against the Calamity Corpse Sect, he would need the willing efforts of his senior brothers and sisters.
Snake Face quickly twisted its head, eyes wide open, staring at the screen. Underneath the mask, Gong Qi's mouth curled up slightly, revealing a barely noticeable smile.
In fact, not only Gong Qi, the other few in the room, although not intensely curious, hearing his words, the corners of their mouths beneath the masks hooked up to varying degrees.
Gong Qi watched as the junior brother's fingers danced swiftly over the keyboard, deleting his own information with a keystroke, then thoughtfully entering someone else's name and information.
Next, he made some subtle changes and modifications to the content of the email.
Gong Qi's pupils slightly shrank, seemingly realizing the intricacies involved, as his vision drifted back to the name at the top of the information.
He inwardly praised, "Junior brother is indeed deep in thought, exceptionally cunning, heh heh, well done, no wonder Master noticed him at first sight."
The receiver watched Feng Mu tampering with the email's content, his brows knitted into a knot.
Feng Mu didn't let the "dying man" wait long, he hit the keyboard for the final character, gently clicked the send button, then said faintly, "Did you think I'd send the email out unchanged?"
"You hope I'd do that, right? Unfortunately, I'm not that foolish."
The receiver gritted his teeth, "Did you delete all the information about yourself?"
Feng Mu laughed, "Correct, not only did I delete my information, I replaced it with another name, care to guess who that name belongs to?"
